Why is marvel so much more into guns when marvel is generally considered the more liberal of the big 2?

Why is marvel so much more into guns when marvel is generally considered the more liberal of the big 2?

At what point in your life did you decide it would be a good idea to become a walking caricature of a human being who only spouted memes on an anonymous image board?

Is your autism acting up?

>autism

he does make a good point, though

An arguably lower overall power level? More street level heroes? Carry-overs from the 90's?

Call me a marvelfag but when I think of a hero whose entire thing is GUNS, I think of the Punisher.

Can't exactly think of a DC counterpart other than Jonah Hex and Vigilante who are more cowboys than gun.

I think flash is the only pro gun justice leaguer

Simon Baz is technically a leaguer.

Punisher (a dangerous, psychologically-broken vigilante) and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (an international peacekeeping agency) aside, what Marvel characters are particularly known for using guns?

Because they're fictional comics and anything can happen, so why not have mother fuckers with guns.

>Simon Baz
user plz

Literally every character made up during late new mutants and x factor.

Deadpool
Cable
Bishop
Fantomex
Domino
Black Widow
Captain America
Venom
Star Lord..

Deadpool
Cable
Domino
A bunch of those Daredevil villains
Winter Soldier
Blade
War Machine

etc etc

It seems to be the opposite of the politics of what most marvel writers seem to believe politically

Damn our list are almost spot on. I was gonna say Fantomex, Captain America, and Venom, but Fantomex is lesser known and I thought people didn't give a fuck about him; Venom wasn't always known for using gun; and Cap mostly uses his shield.

It seems to be contradictory to the party lines the writers typically follow

damn, forgot muh spoiler
Thanos :^)

>Venom
yeah, I could've specified Agent Venom

>Cap
he's a soldier, nuff said

Also not owning a gun is unamerican

Who is the DC equivalent of Punisher when it comes to guns?

indeed

Peacemaker

or maybe Jason Todd

Consider the fact that the Justice League has a core member who is specifically anti-gun and had a distinct traumatic experience with one after they killed his parents. His wealthy marvel "counterpart", Iron Man, owns a (former) weapons company (the 'main weapons supplier of WW2') that despite his change to be less of a weapons dealer, still invented War Machine and weapons of his own, and can't be too anti-gun without being a hypocrite. Nor does he have a reason too go anti-gun.

And let's be honest laser guns are still guns.

Similarly the team's face Superman has lived his whole life being invulnerable/faster than bullets and has powers that don't need one, while Captain America was an actual soldier in the US army and uses guns all the time.

The closest to Superman in that regard is the HULK who has also fought against the US military with guns, but he doesn't get much of a chance to give anti-gun/crime speeches like Superman might.

Then the lead females in comparison. Wonderwoman is an Amazonian who uses Grecian antiquity warfare and her society see's anything invented by men (including guns) as patriarchal. Black Widow is a spy for the KGB and a distinctly gun type fighter.

It's not surprising Marvel is more gun than DC.

Liberals are actually super tsundere for conservatives. Everything they do is meant to meant to get Republi-kun to notice her.

Guns are not a political thing related to the left or right.

And Marvel isnt "liberal".

DC was heavily influenced by foreign writters, marvel wasnt.

Marvel look "liberal" since they let themselves be influencied by FADS, pop fads: hippie shit, hipster shit, Tumblr shit.

DC on the other hand had people like O'neil, Moore, and Morrison play with actual political stuff. Guns are not an issue in the DC universe.

Oliver Queen is anti gun because he is a liberal.

The entire party line of the left in the USA is to ban certain classes of guns, destroy the NRA, restrict people's access to guns, and to destroy "gun culture"

Also what the fuck about marvel not having foreigners. What the fuck do you think Marvel UK was? (granted nearly every marvel UK writer wrote for 2000AD)

>Oliver Queen is anti gun because he is a liberal.
He isnt a liberal, he was anarcho-socialist with O'neil and by the time of long bow hunters he was a Libertarian (when that wasnt a bad word).

America has no left, just far right and center right.
Fags putting stuff on their asses and blacks having free shit doesnt make the democrats left or even "liberal" they are progressive.

The american "left" is to the right of fucking Social Democrats.

But Superman has guns in his head.

I would say the USA is way way to fucking authoritarian to be really right wing. Also that makes no sense for Oli to be libertarian because didn't he like welfare and shit? An-soc isn't even like a real thing and socialism is inherently an authoritarian system opposed to libertarianism

Why doesn't superman carry a gun?

It has very little to do with politics and everything to do with Marvel being faster on the "what's cool" uptake for many years compared to DC, who's conservatism largely showed in their slowness to react to certain changes until roughly about the mid-80's.
When the 90's edgy badass commando with guns trend showed up therefore Marvel got onboard way faster and DC was just a step behind in that case, as well as more of Marvel's examples of that character (Deadpool, Cable, Domino, etc) ending up more popular in the long run. Weather it's ability to jump on trends and fads faster then DC traditionally was a GOOD thing is highly debatable; a lot of Marvel's social fad superheroes or trendy superheroes got really outdated really fast and were never used again.

From an in-universe perspective there's significantly fewer bulletproof guys running around Marvel, and even then many of them are not actually truly "bullet-proof" but simply highly resistant to normal harm so you just need a bigger gun or more specialized bullet, so Marvel's lower average strength per hero is kind of a fairly logical in-universe factor.
Compare to DC, where even guys like Firestorm who's power is mostly working with matter and his energy blasts are still superhumanly strong and durable on top of it; guns just don't cut it in the superhero game at DC, and while Marvel's highest-powered characters could compete with many of DC's the gap between them and the "average" superhero at Marvel is tremendous.

You know how the Republicans and Democrats are way different now then they were 25 years ago because 25 years is a long-ass fucking time and pretty much everything that doesn't include gravity and the number of limbs and organs a healthy human being is supposed to born with has changed a great deal of that period?

Well the Libertarians changed a shitload too.

Because his nose hairs are probably more powerful than a gun

>the concept of limited government changed

the fuck?

Also Democrats have always been the once forcing gun control. From when they didn't want free'd blacks to have guns, to the 1934 NFA, to the 1968 GCA, to the 1994 bans. Sure some total cock suckers like Bush 1 and Reagan helped them, but it has been a pretty uniquely democrat position

He gets fucking kryptonited every other issue

>the fuck?
Funny thing about politics; core values are bullshit.
They talk about it a lot, but ultimately parties change and alter their ideals over time (funny how the Democrats used to be the social conservatives and the Republicans were the liberals before Goldwater and Nixon) because eventually the old people get old and die and their kids who grew up in a different world and therefore hold different viewpoints change things little by little over time.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing mind you; when you have a two-party system ultimately things will change in those parties over time to reflect what each group thinks (accurately or otherwise I suppose?) it's constituents wants and therefore will get them elected.
I'm pretty sure one of the only strong core values held by politicians is "win first, THEN do good", because if you never win and never change yourself to get what you need from voters then you never get a chance to do anything but be vocal about your ideas, which most children who whine about toys that they want but never get them can tell is not actually very satisfying at all.
Libertarians have changed less (largely because it's always been a fringe group politically and thus had never any real chance of affecting elections until recently), but they still have changed over time.
Also, people tend not to vote for political reasons and ideal government choices but are most vocal and easily riled about moral issues that affect them personally or confront/disrupt their existing held values and thus they feel the need to confront by voting against/for someone.

I won't really argue if this is a good or bad thing or not; it's probably just human nature.

Their only liberal value is making money.

People who work in entertainment tend to be very liberal on social issues, not so liberal on economics, and everything else they barely even care about except in terms of what will make them the most money.

Wait wait wait. Marvel??? More liberal than DC?? Bullshit.

Well they are running businesses.
A businesses core objective is to make money.
Historically. Years ago.
Like, thirty-odd years ago now.

>Historically. Years ago.

No it wasnt, it never was.
It was just how they branded themselves.

plz what? plz don't remind you about Gun Lantern, the hero Detroit deserves?

You're just nothing but a nigger, sitting there eating Chicken and shitting yourself

I bet you thought you'd stir the pot if you made a bait post like this, but alas, you have not

enjoy your evening alone, nigger guy

According to Sup Forums, basic conservatism and freedom is now a "Jewish SJW scheme"

>jewish sjw
>freedom

The freedom to lose your rights to speech, arms, and a fair trial?

What part of fictional you don't understand

Marvel is about war.

When it comes to guns? Probably Jason Todd or Peachemaker.

Overall? Huntress. Or at least she used to be.

There's even a little cross company nod regarding her origin story.

But he does have guns you casual pleb!
