Notice that every time such a thing happens, ISIS celebrates and almost smugly declares their involvement. Islam is a honor-based, community-centric religion. Simply reducing a report to "An Islamic State attack committed in X with Y casualties" de-glorifies the attacker. It's somewhat like in ancient history, where ancient civilizations tried to write their enemies out of history.
