Since when did Mega Man have an "over the top sense of humor"?

Well this sounds like shit, but I trust Man of Action to make it at least mediocre.

Don't remember Doctor. light speech?

While the pre-release art doesn't do anything for me, its Man of Action. They have my trust that this could turn out good.

But Ultimate Spider-man

...

surely even Sup Forumsmblr can admit he didn't deserve this right?

doesnt look very mega

The design is fine. Rush is already confirmed, which is a step in the right direction.

And MoA has a decent track record, so I'm still somewhat optimistic.

>The design is fine
Why do you start off with a blatant over-the-top lie?
You have to keep that stuff for the end to get people to read what you write without immediately dismissing it as useless. Who listens to the guy who starts off by saying "well since grass is made out of electricity and space if filled with doughnuts, then [...]

Design is shit but the synopsis sounds generic and "Mega Man-y" enough to be harmless like Sonic Boom or the Pac Man cartoon. Probably won't be on my radar but its a step into getting him back into the limelight at least.

I seriously hope that's not the final design though, it looks like Baby's First Illustrator Project.

I don't see the problem. He looks like a fusion of Classic and X. How is that bad?

>He looks like a fusion of Classic and X. How is that bad?

Stop spouting bullshit. Neither one had tron lighting.

Besides the lighting. Look at his helmet. He has the two eyebrow arch things that lead you to a glowing light in the center.

His boots and extra arm lies are alot like X too.

>fusion of Classic and X
Fucking how?
What elements of X and/or Classic do you see in that garbage?

>MegaTron

Yes?

from this design and the synopsis, it looks like dull kids' stuff, same as every other Mega Man cartoon

who fucking cares

now you know why everyone just tells him to shit the fuck up

I see it too. I thought it was an X design at first glance. The forehead light and Eyebrow arches are totally X.

I'll just tell him to fuck off from now on.

The forehead thing's on classic too. In fact closer to classic due to being blue also.

Though it you ID X on a helmet accent alone instead of seeing the whole thing, you might have tunnel vision

Classic just has a little square.

X has a light.

Original never had it as one connected piece, nor did it taper or end in a gem. That helmet is clearly an X helmet and I'm baffled how any megaman fan would think otherwise. Though the design in general is more tron meets classic. Would be better suited for a battle network iteration if anything

Awful.
The most important part of Mega Man is the character design (which is perfect), but this design sucks.
The industry should stop raping Mega Man's corpse.

why do they felt the need to make Megaman so fucking ugly?

Why not just make a Megaman X series, it has enough darkness and shit for your standard american cartoon. I wouldn't want it aimed for kids, that's for sure.

>The industry should stop raping Mega Man's corpse.

The problem is that Mega Man fans WANT more Mega Man games
This somehow convinces content creators into thinking that means mega man in non-game form

I can't wait to shitpost about Aidsman when it gets released.

This looks like amateur deviantart art leve shit, how will this possibilily transfer to animation

Mega Man fans want GOOD Mega Man games, not mobile shit.
I'm a big fan of Classic MM and MM Zero, but I could accept a cartoon version of any related MM saga, only if they put some effort on it.

The pic on the OP looks like Adobe Flash-tier.

Who considers mobile shit as a proper game?
It's stiff you do when games aren't available. Or you run an emulator

Honestly I have no judgement on it other then I'm sick of hearing people bitch about the art style. When it comes out I'll try watching the first three episodes and see how it is. Do people even remember the box art Megaman this seriously isn't that bad.

Personally I think megaman's had his time in the sun; original's had 8+ games, X 7+, Zero & BN had respectable runs, and I never paid much attention to ZX, starforce and what have you. I could live without any more megaman games.

But what they did with legends 3 was just dirty. Low fucking blow capcom.

>different region boxart is the same as a official character design for the animated series.

Are you retarded?

This Mega Mane looks a lot like X-O Manowar desu.

Street Shitter has more games. Megaman is just one of the biggest videogames franchises, I can't see how Capcom seems to want to distance from it

Street shitter is fueled by a competitive fighting scene. They could (and have) release three versions of the same game and make profit off each.

...

ZX was the logical sucessor of Zero, and it was a pretty fun game.

I don't understand the current MM situation: the Mega Man fandom is huge and surprisingly not retarded, the character is the icon of the NES (he was bigger than Mario), the games always sell tons and the MM cosmology is FUCKING HUGE (10 games on Classic, 8 on X, 4 on Zero, a fuckton on BN, 2 on ZX, 50+ other games, each one with 8+ bosses and new characters, plots and interactions).
Capcom are fucking assholes.

...

Only saw OP's pic. is it 2D or CGI garbage?

>the character is the icon of the NES (he was bigger than Mario)
No. Mega Man is incredibly identifiable, but mainly with the "hardcore" or "nostalgic" crowd. The public at large can almost immediately identify Mario and Pikachu, but they don't know Mega Man from Sonic.

>I don't understand the current MM situation
Part of the problem is that Mega Man is incredibly oversaturated, to the point where it would be hard to release a new game in a particular series. There are 10+7 classic Mega Man titles, 8+2 Mega Man X titles, 4 with Zero, 2 with XZ, 3 with Legends, 6+2 with Battle Network, and 3 with Starforce. And that's ignoring oddball titles like Soccer, Racing, or the fighting games. In order to stand out, especially with the earlier series, it would be very hard to make something that doesn't stand out as pointless.

On the other hand, people were basically begging Capcom to take their money for Mega Man Legends 3, Star Force 4, more Battle Network, or (hopefully) ZX3. Hell, tons of people bought 3DS systems JUST for Legends 3, and it was in development enough for an alpha and a demo to be created... but not released.

I can see why Capcom doesn't want to make some titles. They probably don't have the talent around that made the original games, and without the people who knew what they were doing, didn't want to screw it up. No sense making another MMX7, after all. But then again, why aren't they doing something like Mega Man Legacy more often? You'd think that they would be falling over themselves to release the entire Battle Network series, complete with online connectivity, over Steam.

Instead? We get the terrible mobile XOver game, the cancellation of Legends 3, and now this. Oh, and Bad Box Art MegaMan in SFxT. It's as if Capcom dislikes people enjoying Mega Man, and wants to make the fans hate Capcom as much as humanly possible.

everyone knows Sonic.

Less than you might think. He hasn't been a noteworthy character outside people who owned a Genesis and the kids who picked up the Black Knight/Secret Rings sorts of games.

Sonic is a household name. More so than Mario. Not everyone plays video games, but every kid has grown up with a Sonic cartoon including the newest one that's on now.

People isn't accustomed to the old hardcore playstyle from Classic, X and Zero, and the other games are basically spin-offs (and I remember that the BN saga had a pretty mixed reception outside of weabooland).

I hate to say this, but Mega Man needs a reboot because the universe is a fucking mess (there are 7 unfinished plots on the same storyline).

Someone answer my fucking question.

Google is your tomodachi.

Worst boxart and character design ever

I don't want to. Is it beautiful 2D, or shitty CGI?

Google it, I ain't gonna spoonfeed you holmes

>One of the biggest videogame franchises

It's iconic, sure, but in terms of sold units Mega Man was never that impressive.

The best-selling game in the franchise sold less than the best-selling Dynasty Warriors, and worse than Fire Emblem Awakening(not sure on this last part).

In it's entirety, the Megaman series barely compares to Kirby, which has less than a third of the amount of games that Mega man has.

Nobody knows yet, outside it just being garbage. The link here is literally all everyone knows about it.

Classic Mega Man doesn't need to "finish its plot". It was always Saturday morning cartoon material, and doesn't need a final conclusion episode any more than Looney Tunes does.

Mega Man Zero was concluded.

Battle Network was concluded, as far as I know. Hell, each BN game was pretty much a conclusion of most of the stuff it brought up.

That leaves four plots, one of which fucked itself up the ass long before it ran out of steam (MMX), two intentionally left on cliffhangers but never completed (Legends, MMZX), and one which I thought wrapped its major plot points up as well (StarForce). Two of those I could see them reasonably wrapping up, assuming they could get the crew together to make the games properly. I've not played StarForce past the first game, so I don't know how much that needs a conclusion.

>People isn't accustomed to the old hardcore playstyle from Classic, X and Zero
This is true.

>Sonic is a household name. More so than Mario.
Don't kid yourself. Sonic is known outside video game circles, sure, but I'd hardly call it a household name. SatAM Sonic is about as well remembered as Skeleton Warriors or the Pirates of Dark Water... and unsurprisingly, I don't see many people talking about those. Hell, Thundercats can't rouse enough people to have kept the new series on the air.

I didn't even know there was a Sonic cartoon on. I hope you don't mean Sonic Boom.

They do mean Sonic Boom, and you're wrong to dismiss it for being associated with a shit game. It's quality kids programming, though I can't speak for its popularity.

Don't forget Sonic comics, by the way. Archie has been keeping multiple ongoing Sonic comics alive for a couple of decades now.

>They also confirmed that the show's animation style will be a "anime-animation hybrid" and the art-style would be much closer to how the characters appear in the games and Capcom's official art
i'm assuming that mean 2D although Megaman looks 3D in the picture. Going with 2D. Now I may actually watch it.
>the creators of Ben 10 and Generator Rex, to create, write and executive produce the show.
Fuck this show. It's going to be shitty kiddy garbage.

I think he needed to be drawn in a better pose.

Every fucking person on this planet knows Sonic the Hedgehog. You must be trolling.

Sonic Boom is actually fairly good. Not one of the best cartoons out there, but a lot better than expected.

Unfortunately, it's also getting cancelled. That doesn't say much about its popularity.

Sonic comics are limited to comic readers, which are probably mostly limited to people who bothered to keep up with the last 20-some years of Sonic comics.

>Archie has been keeping multiple ongoing Sonic comics alive for a couple of decades now.
I hate to tell you this, user, but Archie ended up cancelling all the Mega Man comics and nearly all the Sonic comics except one. (Sonic Boom comic was cancelled as well, despite being by far the best Boom-related thing... and actually being really amusing.)

I like the helmet better. At least it doesn't have that weird streak that gets cut off in the front.

What is up with that?

So if Roll is in this what kind of name will she have. Some user earlier said Aki can be taken as Shining or second hope in some way. So if it's shining Roll could be rising. Rise and Shine. If it's second hope that implies Blues. What would his name be? Also I think this is a pretty good edit. Modify the helmet to give it more of that exclamation point look classic has and maybe change the buster lines to yellow, though.

>Unfortunately, it's also getting cancelled

Where did you hear this?

I'm just asking because I keep hearing it's cancelled or that it has gotten renewed, but no one ever has a source.

>Every fucking person on this planet knows Sonic the Hedgehog.

youtube.com/watch?v=vaO2WIUGUSA
>everyone immediately recognizes Mario
>everyone immediately recognizes Pikachu
>only four people immediately name Sonic
Why could they find more people who could recognize Duck Hunt (if not name it) than would point out Sonic in the video?

Also, as a bonus:
>everyone thinks that Rosalina is Elsa from Frozen
>everyone thinks that R.O.B. is Wall-E

I'll see it and if I like it I'll watch it, if not then I'll skip the rest.

>everyone immediately recognizes Mario
>everyone immediately recognizes Pikachu
>only four people immediately name Sonic

Only 5 people recognized Mario, and all the people who were shown Sonic identified him immediately.

Also, one of the 7 people that were shown Pikachu didn't know him.

Mario, ,Pikachu, Sonic and Pac-man are all very well-known among non-gamers.

>So if Roll is in this what kind of name will she have.

If the "Rise and Shine" guess is correct then I think "Asa" could be her name.
Not exactly a common name, but Asa can mean rising/morning. It also means hope in some other languages.

>What would his name be?

You got me. Something to do with being the first hope? This one is hard to guess.

> Also I think this is a pretty good edit.

True, the edit makes it look better.

>kiddy
what were you honestly expecting
a grim and bleak mature take on this beloved children's franchise?

go away

Yesssss

>only four people immediately name Sonic
Technically it was like 7 because that entire group of 5 named Sonic right away

This. We would think people got enough of it after the Zero series.

Considering how awful the old cartoon looked, almost anything is an improvement desu famfam

I am not a fan of the design.

If it's a different Mega Man, I'm okay with it.
If it's supposed to be the same one as the games, I'm a bit surprised that they'd change an iconic design so drastically, but I'll get over it.

Megaman has had a ton of different redesigns. I dont think he's even the same one across all the games.

>we'll never get Megaman Legends 3 all because of Capcom and Inafune having the corporate equivalent of a PMS'ing bitchfit at eachother
>yet they'll gladly pump out Sonic 06: Megaman edition: the animated series

But also kind of the best

I'm convincing myself that it looks so shit because of the art style, and shadings that tried so hard to looked like flash cartoon.

I don't know, I can only hate.

Original has looked the same in every game. X goes wild with armors and redesigns

There was also Volnut and Starforce. The character of Megaman has gone through a ton of designs.

He isn't, each different series is a different megaman in a universe usually vaguely connected to the others. Original to x, x to zero, zero to zx and zx to legends. Battle network and starforce are just alternate realities

Character or title or whatever. Point is "Megaman" has gone through a million different looks.

I mean, just from the design and the fact his name's Aki instead of Rock or Mega, it's pretty clearly not Classic Mega Man.
I'm optimistic. Initial press release art always looks like garbage.

you're on Sup Forums man
home of the lowest standards in terms of visual design. There's threads on here about littlest pet shop abortion cartoons.

You know, no one is forcing you to be here.

Doesnt invalidate what he said.

I spoke to Joe Kelly on Facebook about this and the art is ugly as hell but overall I think it's in good hands, he said he played all of the NES games back in the day and that Capcom gave them alot of newer games material to read to use as inspiration. It might be fun.

It does when it clearly boils down to him not liking what other people like and enforcing his own tastes on others.
With his same type of diction, I could pointlessly shift the finger at some other random board that has people discussing something I don't care about, and we get nowhere.

>yfw I like the design

To be honest it is not all that bad.
It is miles better than Bad Box art Megaman or Xover Megaman or even ZX/ZXA "Megamen".
It actually looks like Megaman, even if the artstyle is low quality.

That moment when fanart is better looking than the actual design.

Where's my Gutsman version?

Now, this is a Megaman I can sorta get behind.

Still don't like all the glowy bits

THIS IS XOVER ALL OVER AGAIN

Too busy looking.

What you're doing is smart and that's exactly why it isn't going to happen.

The real shame here is that Man of Action will likely completely ignore the music and counterpart themes present in most of the supporting characters. Rush, Eddie, Beat, Auto, and Tango will likely be completely ignored, just knowing that tiny travesty Mega Mini exists.

>As long as Capcom has them wrapped around their finger they will continue to release updated versions of the same game
People like to rag on Mega Man for not changing, but at least the stages and weapons are different.
