Okay, this makes sense for the VP pick, but just getting Bernie to give her lip service seems like a really dumb move when you're all but guaranteed a win if you can keep from splitting your party.

People that don't understand politics would've been mad about Bernie endorsing her anyway despite that being literally how politics have worked since the beginning of time. It seems like they really needed to appeal to that group harder than they are and it wouldn't have even been that hard.

In 08 it was D+12 and in 2012 it was D+8. So if anything a republican stands a higher chance now than they did in previous years.
