Kind of but not exactly. We enjoy this in a different way than your (assuming left-wing) side. We don't do it out of perceived suffering or out of some dull obligation or narcissistic sense of self-pity, but out of joy. We do it because it's fun.

We do not speak publicly in order to be thought of as virtuous, but just to be proven right. Nobody is ever going to think we're virtuous.
