Is this Marvel's equivalent of the Teen Titans?

Is this Marvel's equivalent of the Teen Titans?

How does Marvel keep getting it SO RIGHT with Kamala?

She's made Miles and Sam much more likeable just by being around her

Kamala a cute a cute

She needs a female friend who is also a cape

It would be fun if she met Ultra Girl, since she was Ms Marvel for a bit too

Unfortunately the other teen heroes aren't as popular. Sam is barely justified, his book is just scraping by.

Is there any chance they'll bring back Dick Rider?

That's how it usually works

You have a popular core and then some lesser heroes to add colour

Cassie Lang would be an obvious addition
A random X-man
Maybe Daredevils Chinese friend

Context?

That's what the Avengers used to be. The team of the guys not popular enough to matter otherwise. They became the JL-esque main team after decades.

>Is this Marvel's equivalent of the Teen Titans
>a black guy
>a mexican guy
>a muslim girl
>no white guys
sounds like Marvel's version of anything

>The team of the guys not popular enough to matter otherwise
That's what New Avengers are right now

>They became the JL-esque main team after decades.
*after Bendis

Not even a little. Marvel would have to listen to their fans for that to happen

Ultron took over the Phalanx and made a virus that bends people to his will.
He took over Kree space and out a huge barrier around it.
Richard hits the barrier at FTL speeds and seriously injured himself.
Gamora found his body while he was recovering. She kisses him and infects him with Phalanx virus, and probably does some other stuff. Then they go around, fuck shit up for Ultron, and fuck like rabbits.
Later, Worldmind fights off the virus long enough to Richard to regain control of his body from Ultron

This is the exact moment it happened:
>"They were going through all of the books, and when we got to 'Avengers,' Mark Millar and I were doing a lot of talking. We were told to feel free to talk, but sometimes we were the only ones talking which can be embarrassing. Mark and I really got into a tizzy about Avengers," Bendis recalled. "It was just us bitching, saying things like, 'Why isn't it really Earth's Mightiest heroes? What the fuck is Jack of Hearts?' Then Mark, in his lilting Scottish brogue, said, 'You know, when I was a wee young lad in Scotland, I would only buy "Justice League" because I would get all of my DC heroes for just 10 cents. It was a bargain and featured some of their greatest characters.'

>"I responded, 'Yeah, why isn't "Avengers" a book made up of the coolest guys? Why doesn't it have characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine?' Then a ruckus broke out in the room. People were screaming and yelling. It was really just madness," Bendis continued. "So it was me, Mr Schmucky, and Scottish Schmucky coming in and going, 'Your book sucks! This could be better.' That's not what we were doing, but there's no way that it didn't come off that way.

>Why isn't it really Earth's Mightiest heroes? What the fuck is Jack of Hearts?'
>why isn't "Avengers" a book made up of the coolest guys? Why doesn't it have characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine?'

these are two completely different and contradictory points

Spiderman and Wolverine are not mighty
Cap/Thor/Ironman were not popular at that time

Gwenpool > Kamala

Well, she has been friendly with Medusa and Carol.
But yeah, a best buddy cape would be cool.
Who would be a good choice here, though?
Mutants are kinda out of question, I guess.
And she is already ignoring her school friends a lot, which is a shame.
Maybe they could promote Nakia or Mike to hero status?
That would make things easier and both are in close proximity to a nascent super scientist and an Inhuman, so there are a number of ways to catch powers. Or cancer.

Come to think of it what was marvels a-team called

Not to mention that he complains about B-Listers being on the team and then proceeds to add Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Echo, Noh-Varr and fucking Daisy Johnson. Truly cool iconic characters that wee lads in Scotland would spend 10 cents on.

Marvel teen titans has always been te x-men

...

Being "progressive" is the hip thing to do these days, and Marvel is trying to capitalize on it.

Glad I stopped buying comics way back in the mid 00's.

Just stick her with Silk, they're both popular enough to sustain ongoings

The only popular x-teen that isnt one of the original 5 is probably Evan, the apocalypse clone.

I just hope hopeless doesnt make him gay

Silk is ten years older and stuck in the last decade, though.
They have literally nothing in common.
Especially family-wise.

I would read that.

Gwenpool it is then

Makes sense with the other parallels

>It's going to be Goldenballs

He just transferred to Miles school

Why am I suddenly so enamored with the idea that they make a second Deadpool movie and Evan is in it?

They were called the X-men.

Isnt the Nova guy white? I dont read Marvel, but was thinking on drawing porn that would have included him, so this part is kind omportant.

Because Evan is cute
Because Wade is a cool father figure going back to Syrin

And both are Fangirls to diffrent degrees.

But isent that limited to mutants

>progressive is hip now

You're probably thinking of Dick. This is Sam.

If you want to use the Nova that doesn't suck and has a pornstar name, then yes, he is white

They should form a team, call it the...NEW Avengers or something

Yes. Back in the 70s-80s-90s, Mutants/X-teams were the best-selling books right after Spider-Man.

Ever since House of M/Civil War, the Avengers have been slowly overtaking the X-Teams. People like to joke that Marvel is replacing the X-Men with Inhumans, but really it was the Avengers that Marvel has tried to replace them with (and has largely been successful).

>Spider-Man
>not mighty
What, 30 tons isn't enough?

Nah, they should call it Avengers: International.

But for real, I miss when the big teams had sub-teams. Like Avengers and Avengers: West Coast. If they'd just change the title of "New Avengers" to "Avengers Ideas Mechanics" or AIM, like what they are called in the book itself, it'd help alleviate some of the brand wearing down.

I mean you didn't call every X-Team the X-Men. You had X-Factor, X-Calibure...

>that wee lads in Scotland would spend 10 cents on.
haha

That is mainly to do with X-men being written like shit post-Morrison and sales declining rather than Sales significantly rising (and staying high) under Bendis and Hackman

He has always been treated like a joke on the Avengers, literally has never had a single moment or done anything useful in his 12 years with them

Yeah, maybe a bit too 90s though

that's kind of what I want to happen after civil war 2. kamala becomes so disillusioned with the older heroes that she goes and makes her own team with blackjack and hookers disconnected from the petty bullshit that the older generation seems to live in.

it would be a story of growing up and realising that your heroes aren't the type of people you thought they would be.

I am waiting for them to invite the robot kids into the team.

What other super power kids in the marvel universe?

Those 4 Powers kids that are part of the Future Foundation?

Bait.

Literally one of the worst marvel ongoings right now.

...

>Literally
You're misusing the word. IMO it's good, but even if you think it's bad, Marvel has several books out that are pretty bad.

Don't assume that his reason for disliking the book is based on ethnicities. He could just not like the writing.

lol I mean a forced muslim character is shit too but it's still the worst ongoing.

>but even if you think it's bad, Marvel has several books out that are pretty bad
Hardly a defense and pretty shitty outlook of marvel comics in general really.

As opposed to a forced christian one?

>If somebody doesent like a book that has a minority in it there Sup Forums
I fucking love kamala and I can still realise you need to fuck off back to tumblr

Nope, before you get your sensitive ideologies in a twist trying to push any religeon in an attempt to be "diverse" is pretty shit.

Not that marvel really promotes christian characters like they used to.

I am talking About Miles book

Lets be honest, religion has been forced Into characters since the 2000, nightcrawler used to pray off panel and Matt never mentioned religion too much

>I don't read comics

So, no character should have religion be a part of their character then?

I read enough to know it continously underlines her stories. At least her early ones.

Also the artwork was done in biro back then and the dialogue was like going to reddit.

I don't think it should be a building block for a new character or a fundamental part of a characters story.

That is probably what they are setting up Nadia for

Like 2010 reddit too.

Why not? Religion is a big part of many peoples lives.

Gonna need a Fab 5 or something 4 for that. So I guess Hope is out?

I understand the idea of focusing on the personal lives of capes to try and make them more relatable but does it make a good story?

From what I read, no it doesn't. They've never needed it in a good personal story before, peter parker, frank castle, dare devil and even a b-lister like marvel knights sentry have all done excellent personal stories without ever needing to bring up religeon.

>yfw Kamala falls out favor like all teen heroes

>dare devil
>without ever needing to bring up religeon.

Go back to Sup Forums and come back when you've actually read the comics you're talking about.

And learn how to spell.

Your point is retarded

>Good stories can be told without involving religion
>THEREFORE NO STORIES SHOULD EVER INVOLVE RELIGION REGARDLESS OF QUALITY

It's a dangerous kind of thinking too. It can literally be used as an "argument" for or against anything and anyone.

Fucking flawless rebuttals from people that have never read anything pre-2000.

Her stories are shit, underwhelming, poorly thought out and the underlying muslim element adds nothing besides the only "original" thing about the character.

>progressive is hip now

Well what's going on with Jack and Katie Powers? They'd probably be up for it.

>black ranger is black
>yellow ranger is asian
How did they get away with this

it's like some weird transitional period for PC casting - they wanted minorities, but they didn't know what to do with them

You do realize that due to the revolving door of Sup Forums, that most of the people here weren't alive when these were on the air?

Daredevil's religion was only introduced when Miller came on board. "Catholic superhero" was never his selling point. And his faith is barely brought up nowadays.

>it only became a thing during the characters most celebrated run

Whose side are you on, dummy?

Was actually an interesting interview about that by Walter Emanuel Jones on youtube.

Casting was open to race, but Zack was written as someone with rhythm based fighting style and Walter says "Who else but a brother" or something.

Original Trini was a Latina girl who demanded a pay raise or something and got fired. Thuy Trang ended up getting the role after that.

Only in Born Again which was written after his main run

it was logical

>want a black and an asian
black men > black women
asian women > asian men

Pink ranger is the female equivalent of red so that had to go to a white girl so the asian woman had to be the yellow ranger

Black ranger was actually the second in command in the Japanese version so that's actually a good thing

He's half Hispanic and half white, but he takes after his white father in skin tone more than his Hispanic mother, so technically he's white.

This racist piece of shit right here.

Point I was getting at was that she wasn't yellow because she was Asian, more like an Asian got the role because Latina girl fucked up. Though the "rhythm kung-fu" that described Zack's character just screamed that they were looking for a black dude. Which Isn't bad since the show seems to have diversity as a founding characteristic and Walter is fucking based.

>Black men over Black women
>Asian women over Asian Men

It only took one season for them to bring in that BW AM flavor

They're way too young for this shit.

I'm pretty sure it was brought up as recent as 2014, with the whole Orginal Sin with his mother.

If Deadpool appears as the villain, it will be perfect.

I still remember that awkward episode where they left Aisha in Africa and took another black girl home with them.

What?

Nope. Matt being Catholic wasn't mentioned despite it being about his nun mother. Meanwhile Kamala always goes on about her faith.

>1 teen spider character
>1 teen cosmic character
>1 teen inhuman character

We just need 1teen mutant and 1 teen avenger

They're all avengers, debuting in Avengers isn't really a thing anymore

No she's doesn't. You make it sound like she's a contestant on Masterchef, always going on and on every episode about how they're a single Hispanic, an Indian etc.

It was prominent in the first series during the early arcs, but it's not an important thing these days, especially in the relaunch.

I hope Avengers Assemble doesn't ruin Kamala. They probably will though.

Well Alex and Julie started off as preteens, and now they're young adults. Jack and Katie are probably in high school by now.

Alex is 19, so Julie is anywhere between 16-17.

When Jack and Katie appeared in a FF issue they're weren't looking much different from Franklin, so I won't be surprised if they haven't aged especially since they're both rarely seen and/or mentioned at all.

3 people isn't a team.

Red Hood and the Outlaws

And that arc has to end with them all sitting on the bus, laughing euphoric ally, then slowly realising all the bridges they just burned.
Like in The Graduate.

Well, they just had a big fat Muslim wedding.
But she never seems to refer to doctrine or invoke any religious reasons for anything.
I think she quoted scripture like twice in internal monologue because that were her father's favorites.
But she blatantly disobeys religious doctrine at every turn, questions authority and hangs with men, non-believers, pagan gods and aliens. Although, I'm not sure what the official stance is for not-quite-humans.
Are Inhumans even allowed in? Could be bad news for Aamir.

you are right, user, and pic related is the best option
