I'm glad these retards use tripcodes so we never have to read their posts ever again, into the filter it goes
No, the sequel was shit, the original covered everything. So yes, South America has made 2 decent movies.
How many South American movies have you watched?
>the sequel was shit
yeah, nope, the sequel is just as good as the first movie and focuses on aspects that are way more relevant today, compared to the first one, which was already dated when it was released

30's were good in Argentina
50's-60's golden age for both Argentina and Brazil
80's good just in Brazil
late 90's good in Argentina
00's Some Argentina, little Brazil (City of God and Elite Squad are actually nice, better than most argentine studio productions of the same budget).
Now is mostly Chile, very good films
These are the basics
Piñeyro is a complete fucker who deserves to die of an overdose on TV, during an interview

That Argentinian one starring that actor who is in every Argentinian film. He plays an investigator for the district attorney or some shit like that.
I forget the name. It has that Memories of Murder feel.
Really good kino.
Yeah, it's nice, amerifags did a remake that was shit except for Elizabeth Olsen, who's actually a very good actress

I don't consider him to be representative of south american film...
You have Raúl Ruiz whom I absolutely love and is without a doubt one of the greatest directors ever to be born in South America, but his cinema is something else
Aren't these particularly useful words of a very well defined internet subculture slang? Why should I retreat from using them?
Lucrecia is doing an adaptation of Zama. I'm brazilian but I've heard that the book is really good. And as you seem like a enlightened user, do you think it's a book worth reading?
Here is a good one on Youtube :
Remember that video of that 16 year old girl that get burned alive by a big crowd of people in Venezuela.
I haven't been to stop think about that, sometimes I have nightmares about it.
Humans make me sick.
Yeah, go for it. Zama is a really nice little novel. Actually all Di Benedetto is quite good, just as Saer. They both write in a very neutral, non-regional spanish (though Saer is more baroque), so portuguese translations may be just fine.
Martel's adaptation of Zama looks very promising, there's also a documentary about the film on the works right now, by a very young and talented argentine filmmaker named Manuel Abramovich
Thanks argento-bro, I'll try to read it as soon as possible.
Valeu! :)

No industry, shitty schools, stupid mentality, etc
I liked "La vendedora de rosas" very sad and hopeless.
Also even though I'm Mexican I have to turn subtitles on because they use a heavily localized language that is hard to understand.
