What's worse?

What's worse?

Your mothers ass

As much as I hate QC, as others can attest, I'd have to say DoA.

Hacques is an utterly incompetent oaf who is as far removed from the Artistic condition as any man may be, but at least he isn't actually insane.

DoA is essentially the ravings of a cultist lunatic; a leftist Chick Track, if one would.

QC is just boring. DoA/SP are offensive.

The people posting about them on Sup Forums every day.

DoA
Less updates, slightly worse art, plot never does anything, edits aren't even very enjoyable.

Questionable Content is fucking horrible, but Jacques really churns that shit out and admittedly it makes a few good waifus.

QC is worse.

DoA is a decent comic that Sup Forums just doesn't like because of its political stance.

QC is written and drawn like garbage

>DoA
>Less updates

What are you on about?

DoA updates every day, QC only updates Mon-Fri and often takes holidays off.

Never read TrapChaser but doa was really bad.

I don't know what the one on the left is so I guess QC by default.
QC isn't bad though its just very mild and inoffensive, though considering it updates every weekday that's probably part of its appeal.

>DoA is a decent comic
Fuck off Willis.

Probably DOA. Willis can't control his euphoria.

>stabs his own hand
>multiple times
>at least he isn't actually insane

Every webcomic is shit.

Are we judging them in a vacuum? Because if not, as awful as DoA is there are some mildly amusing Shortpacked strips and Hacques has literally never created anything worthwhile.

DoA.
At least QC leads to funny edits. DoA edits are just as unfunny as the originals.

>he isn't actually insane
anime poster plz go

DoA is politicized, heavily biased in accordance to the author's own disdains, and frequently displays Willis' insane and sheltered ultra-liberal views of the world. It berates and demonizes any group of people that Willis deems unworthy of the PC cult. Its writing is schizophrenic, never clear, and often times hypocritical of itself. The characters are ultra-hateable with the exception of maybe 2 or 3, and the strip often used as a soap box for Willis to bitch about some flavor of the month micro-aggression. Overall, its mere existence is an affront to humanity.

QC is just boring, with occasionally opinionated drivel.

>At least QC leads to funny edits
QC fag pls leave
none of the edits are funny
even if they were, it wouldn't be funny enough to sustain multiple daily generals

>this

Questionable Content is dull and annoying. It has some shit writing and the characters are annoying in that most of them are some degree of either quirky or total pushovers.

But none of that compares to the utter atrocity that is Dumbing of Age for the sole reason that Jeph Jacques is not David Willis. Jacques might be a bad writer, a bad artist, a whiny idiot and a hack but Willis is all of that plus completely insane. Willis is a faggot raised by Batman and Transformers and thus views the world through a completely black and white lens. Everything he has ever written for 20 years (using the same characters in new settings each time) has been a way of lashing out at his parents for being evil conservative Christian white people and passing that on to him to the point where he's become a completely warped bigot but for "liberal" reasons.

The guy, apparently, avoids black fans at cons because he's so full of white guilt that he can't bear to be around them. I've heard he also gets really pissed when it's pointed out that Asians worked on Transformers and flipped his shit when he found out his favorite artist or writer or whatever from the original cartoon was Filipino.

He creates situations where unlikable people engage in elaborate revenge scenarios against those deemed wrong (usually parents, Christians, or some combination thereof), props up minorities (lesbians, trannies, women mainly) to an almost fetishistic degree and forgets his own logic partway through a story simply so the wronged, noble minority can be right no matter how wrong they actually are.

Both comics are reflections of their creators and while Jeph is bland, nonthreatening and kind of annoyingly whiny, Willis is a fundamentally broken person which is reflected in his work, the creation of a lunatic ready to sacrifice himself at the altar of political correctness for the crimes of race and gender as a way of getting back at his parents over issues that'll never be properly addressed.

just to be clear, i'm talking about both comics

either stop pretending you hate the comics or don't make threads

DoA edits aren't (usually) tryng to be funny as much as they are trying to give some semblance of logic to an otherwise completely illogical comic.

QC edits are literally nothing more than "hyuck hyuck the chick has a penis and she's going to fuck (male character) in the ass with it, oh will his boy hole be sore in the morning" repeated over the year or two they've been going on. The sole exception being the "this is me" one.

how can one user be so wrong

Dumbing of Age.

QC's characters can be annoying, but Willis's are insufferable pieces of shit with the worst storytelling ever.

QC

At least Willis can be seen improving his art over the years. The only real problem that find consequences everywhere else with Willis is the fact he can't take criticism.

I miss Shortpacked. At least with Shortpacked, things that are unrealistic or just don't plain happen in reality can be given the excuse that this is something typical in the world which the characters live in, and you aren't torn out when Willis attempts to portray things that happen in DoA as if they could occur in real life.

Come on, I bet you've chuckled at a few of the "this is me" edits.
But no, we definitely don't need a QC thread shitposted every day, and we sure as hell don't need a DoA thread every day and also being bumped by Willis every time it reaches page 10.

Insane in a way that affects his comic.

All that happens when Jeph stabs himself is that we're free from his tripe for a day

>edits aren't even very enjoyable
shut your whore mouth.

Who cares.

Hahah. Bravo.

It's great when it's something like parody edits like WH40K orcs dubbing over DoA, but It's not even worth making fun of the originals a vast majority of the time.

It's almost like Willis himself thinks just posting "where's [whatsherface]?" as a topic is enough of a jab at his comics to make people read the updates he posts on Sup Forums every time. If I have to read previous comics to understand why this latest update is worth mocking, I'm not going to bother.

The number of people who find value in reading the comic legitimately are too small to permit their failed cult proselytizing here. "it's on topic" just isn't enough to legitimize it's existence and permit it to continue just because we can make fun of it. There's no value there. That doesn't mean the cult wins unopposed, it means you're wasting our talents in having it be torn down repeatedly.

No need to compete for which ho is the skankiest. They're both so efficient that they lost all their teeth to give better head. and thank god! Those teeth were really gross.

I just don't want it forced.
I don't want people taking away from this thread the idea that all they have to do is meme-spout to make it good.
That story arc already felt like people were trying hard to edit it into andything and everything.

DoA has better waifus. Case closed.

>The monsters finally caught up to me
Did he actually say it was because people bashed him on Tumblr or is it his other issues bubbling up? I forget the timeline, was this before or after the divorce?

probably during

I'd probably stab myself too if I was married to this and then she left me and took half my stuff

and she still gets income off of him because he's such a cuck that he kept her as a "business manager"

Questionable Content is just dull and boring.

DoA is...basically the author tract of a sociopolitical flagellant whose stories easily paints his protagonists as villains and idiots if read by people outside of his hugbox.

I don't think I'd heard of Dumbing of Age before. Anyone care to point me to choice displays of shit from that webcomic?

I don't know Brun's pretty waifu-able

>It's almost like Willis himself thinks just posting

The worst part about this is that he pretends that he's not the one who makes his own threads, and then babysits then all day talking to himself.

I think that makes DoA win by default.

>.....

Wow. Well said. I'll avoid DoA like the fucking plague. Though now I kinda want to troll him when I'm at a Con and he's there with a booth.

And yeah, to answer the OP question, QC is not as bad as DoA from all I've ever heard. QC did produce some nice waifu's, before it plunged balls deep into TrapChasers.

QC because the threads have been unironic. Willis has no love from anyone here which makes me accept its threads more.

There appears to exist people who read DoA unironically, but it might also just be Willis talking to himself to bump the thread from page 10.

you left out believing his dead grandma was watching him masturbate

Nah the only legitimate conversation is a disgusting slippery slope side product of knowing it enough to rip on it. Like Blessed Mary discussion, for example, requires a good working knowledge of dorm interactions. Knowing the interactions so well leads to discussion when people have discrepancies in their interpretation and thus legitimate conversation.
The difference is that with QC, people don't care about X element because of Y topic to rip on the comic; they just literally care about the comic. It's all X and no Y.

Fuck off Willis, your comic sucks.

>detail how people only read DOA to shit on it
>fuck off Willis
Sasuga DoA/QC shit posters. Still better to shit post a thread like this than it is to discuss properly I suppose.

Why not just merge the two threads and create a perfect cancer containment?

>What's worse
having to choose between boring characters where nothing ever happens and self-righteous asshole characters where no one who deserves having their shit pushed has their shit pushed in

>detail how people only read DOA to shit on it
you mean like QC
you're delusional
You can actually tell which people go where by how they view the comics. The threads that they frequent are often the ones of the comics they overly detail and shit on in a super pretentious way

the real answer is to just ban the threads
everyone agrees the comics are shit and really the only OC that comes from those threads are just shitty edits that everyone loves to repost
50% of the thread is people just bringing up old shit and old edits and saying "hahaha, look at how retarded he is" only 5000 times a day

notice how everything I'm saying applies to both comics and both comic threads
it's because they are equally shit

>the real answer is to just ban the threads
Certainly. We were talking in matters of relation to each other though. I'm a big supporter of the 'ban first' approach. Even the most cancerous generals' influence can be set backwards by banning it for a few months or years, and those things cement themselves pretty hard.

Bans certainly killed Sin Fest, for example. You don't see that shit around much anymore at all.

Can we put it to a vote?
Maybe Willis will chop his hand off.

Wooo Death of the Author yo!
Even if he didn't mean to say a Thing, he said a Thing, if someone interprets the Thing.

No mention of Moon over June

is it time for it to make a return

Nothing is worse than MOJ.

Remember Hathor the Cow Goddess?

QC is currently better for having the superior tranny.

Could change when Joyce's brother gets out of the closet.

they both sare a similar kind of shit, but DoA has a lot more of it and is even less internally consistent. At least QC has the benefit of saying its the future so things are different. DoA frequently has a huge disconnect with the real world which it is portraying, and Willy cant write to save his life so his "villains" have to be made it raving lunatic biggots because people find them more relatable then the so called protagonists.

Also the whole thing with the TRIGGER WARNING BAD FEELS AHEAD GIVE ME BROWNY POINTS, is a whole nother level of bad.

It was years before.

Easily DoA.

QC is like watching paint dry.

DoA is like having paint flung at you.

Dumbing of Age is far worse. Jeph is dull and unfunny, but Willis is a bigot and a hypocrite who genuinely believes he's not a bigger ball of hatred and vileness than the worst strawman he can write. I'm a progressive and I genuinely wish he was still a fundie, because it'd be better then what he genuinely believes is helping.

QC is repetitive self-inserts being just so nice to all the girls around them, because they're just such nice guys.

DoA is self-inserts trying to show how bad anyone Willis ever disliked are, and inadvertently making the antagonists better people than who Willis wants you to root for.

Willis draws Porn. Jacques releases music. Both are bad.

If Jacques handed QC off to someone else though, they could do more with the characters. Willis's people are totes flat.

Final Vote: DoA is worse.

I JUST WANNA SEE HANNERS SHIPPED WITH SOMEONE AND BE HAPPY. THAT'S ALL, AND THEN I'LL GET OFF THE RIDE, I PROMISE. EVEN IF I HAVE TO WRITE IT MYSELF

>tfw you realize David Willis is CWC with slightly better art

>mfw
>Crying that this is true
>Clapping that you noticed

DoA
QC is like some kind of awkward internet heroin I can't unplug from. It's content is hackneyed and convoluted but I check it weekly.

I stopped reading DoA after the terrible porn. How do you even fuck up your own 34?
The fact that DoA doesn't even appeal on a sexual medium says everything.

If well drawn QC 34 was popped off that shoudl would bang like a war drum.

That's like asking if I prefer violent diarrhea or intense vomiting. They're both shit, no need to try and declare one slightly less shit than the other.

Still has less issues than Dave "I hate my parents" Willis

DoA is absolutely irredeemable and is a product of the insecurities and political views of the author in a really horrible hamfisted way.

QA is just wasted potential, what could have been a funny way to go into both a 5 minutes into the future science fiction using the hipster movement as a few individuals who took too much after their parents (like being grunge in the 2000's because your parents listened to Nirvana while you were growing up) as well as robot ethics and questions of legal rights, it just kind of meanders around uninteresting characters and accomplishing nothing.

So DoA is actually bad, QA is just a disappointment.

>reading webcomics

Or Thunt, or 90% of furry artists who aren't making porn.

Niel Gamon says Gunnerkrigg Court is 10/10, he's the only person in the comics industry in general that I can think of who never produced a shitty work.

So I trust him on that. Its a little dry, but good if you binge on it.

>implying all webcomics are shit
Something with the lowest entry barrier is obviously going to have a lot bad eggs, but there's a few 10/10 gems out there. Stuff like Unsounded and Kill Six Billion Demons are better than a lot of professional work and are made by industry professionals.

Gunnerkriggs alright but has been going nowhere fast for such a long time I'm burning out on it. I feel like Tom is saving the resolution of every single subplot for one big finale and is just meandering his way there.

Kill 6 Billion Demons, Unsounded and Rice Boy are pretty great though, even if the latter has issues with infrequent updates because Evan Dahm stretches himself so fucking thin.

Or Lackadaisy. Or Oglaf. Or Poppy.

I love how the response when she got a flood of questions about why she was making a furry prohibition comic was "I didn't know those people existed, I just liked the contrast between cute animals and mature subject matter, by the way I can draw them as humans too" and made this.

How about Assigned Male? Trans kid(Mtf) attempts to be wise beyond her years but is instead your typical Mary Sue who serves as the creator's mouthpiece and owns everyone while bemoaning how she isn't respected.

Why don't we just have a joint QC and DoA thread from now on? It's the same exact people reading both threads, doing the exact same things. Takes up less space on the catalog.

I love Tracy's stance.
>Not a furry
>cats are cute
>I like the range of expression, especially for heavy stuff with cartoon cats
>Solid 9/10 artist: not photographic level, but pretty realistic and talented.

As someone who has never read either, I get them frequently confused for each other when I see them in the catalogue.

>If Jacques handed QC off to someone else though, they could do more with the characters.
>wasted potential
Agree, QC with another writer and another artist could rock. Pic related.

The answer is Sinfest.

This one is pretty good too.
Whatever happened to the fanboys guy?
