Wow, right around where computers and automisation becomes popular, wages no longer increase with productivity. Makes you think

The apple pencil isn't a stylus

I think anime fits right in here. What a time to be alive.

everyone has nips dude, even you. It's literally the least impressive thing about her and they're unremarkable in every respect.

>what is a middleman

this just shows how efficient computers are at doing a task. Anyone looking at this most likely assumes that the amount of work put in has increased to make productivity go up, and are then confused by the lack of compensation. It is because we are working less yet producing more with computers.

>mansplaining

Automation was responsible for that productivity growth all the way along, and the utility of computers outside of specialized applications was dubious until the 90s. Where it was really useful for business, electromechanical information processing technology had been in use since long before 1948 (punchcard sorters, copiers, translators, tabulators, automated telegraphs, etc), and electronic mainframe computers were already big business in the 50s.

In 1952, IBM released the 701 Defense Calculator, a general-purpose computer which could perform about 20,000 36-bit additions per second with a maximum ~180kb of memory, a punched card reader, a printer, and a magnetic tape drive that could hold about ~180kb on a tape. It rented for $12,000-$20,000 per month depending on duty cycle and peripherals.

For the consumer, computers might have seemed to appear at the edges of their everyday lives abruptly in the 1970s, but for serious business, scientific, engineering, and military applications, the emergency of microcomputers was just another data point on a fairly smooth progression.

Highest paid ceo's take on the most challenging operations and have to make tough decisions which don't necessarily equate to short-term profits........... or endemic cronyism?

...

No, that's not what's going on.

What happened was a change of emphasis in government from managing things to make business serve society, to managing things to make business provide return for investors.

It started in the 70s, but the general public didn't really notice until the 80s, when you can see all the 80s movies about yuppies and corporate raiders and "greed is good" reasoning.

Now it's just entirely out of hand, such as with Obama's massive bailouts. A huge transfer of wealth from the American people to investors who had demonstrated their incompetence. In pre-70s America, such a huge bail-out would have been done as a nationalization, with cautious re-privatization following. Now, it's a hand-out.

Anime is the artistic peak of human history.

>beautiful use of capitalism
A gig-economy scrounger trying to make an intermittent $20/hour impresses you with her enterprise?

youtube.com/watch?v=W-Lna7q5cBo

Youll never know until you pay the 20$

Uh, RACIST AND SEXIST much?

I got to level 24 in less than 10 hours using a bot for free. What the fuck does she think she can do to top that.

What did s/he mean by this?

>C&H
How can one comic be so fucking based?

you can actually see where women began saturating the workforce. Fascinating. Oh and productivity went up because of computers. I guess you can't expect wages to match pace when the supply of workers doubles.

>pokemon go is a capitalist weapon To create violence and opression.

Yet most liberals turn 100k in student loans into 200k of debt.

survival of fittest bucko. Can't have bums running industries.

Did a "pajarico"reincarnated with Chavez's spirit whisper that into his ear?

I think the problem most young people have is that they are expected to study the best part of their youth just to have the chance of a shitty job.

Not me though. I am quite well off. I can appreciate the problems the poor have however.

>late stage capitalism thread
dis my fuckin jam

...

>1 million dollars
>turn it into multi billion dollar enterprise, employs thousands, and makes some kick ass sky scrapers
yeah, that's so easy to do

>average overall wages
I assume that's just in America, right?
Why do none of these graphs take into consideration that companies are much more heavily globalized?

This made me want to die. Thanks, m8.

there's a reddit called latestagecapitalism, one of the few genuinely good parts of the site

me too

>take the bag and leave

These graphs arbitrarily pick ~1980 as the start date to meme the idea Reagan was responsible for "bad things".

They could be cute. Can't really tell with that shirt.

I know I'm on it right now bro. Nice id too btway

Looks like my cousin, and is a cheap whore like my cousin, go figure. Seriously though, what does $20 buy me for an hour?

Well Trump is telling the truth, considering the ratio difference in both of their spending

fuck, i got a pokemon she can train.
in my pants.

its about the rate of profits lads

This isn't even a service based economy anymore, this is like, post-service entertainment economy.

This makes me so unreasonably angry, and I know it's unreasonable, but I just can't stop being so angry

>2822 points obama
>3466 points trump

Well I know who's winning.

The irony is that the top is almost entirely funded by rich donors and super pacs while the bottom is self funded/small donations

Here's an interesting thought: Even someone working for a US minimum wage earns more in a day than at least 50 people in some third world countries.
With the extreme shoving around of money and massive inequalities of capitalism right now, why not just go to Africa as someone extremely rich?

Not only is Trump technically correct, but Obama is lying. The proposal he supports in his response is a proposal to give Congress regulatory control over all political speech except that in officially recognized media. Citizens United overturned the McCain–Feingold Act, which was in full effect from 2003 to 2010. During that same period, billionaires like George Soros had no trouble creating their own media outlets to spend unlimited amounts demonizing the opposition.

I kinda like them.

> Insert joke about taming my Ekans or whatever

>live in NYC
>Pokestops and Pokemon literally everywhere
>dipshit newmoney yuppies literally everywhere
>charge $20 per hour to level up a character
>can easily do this on 5 phones at the same time
>can easily find 5 dipshit newmoney yuppies to pay this rate on Crapelist
>make $100 per hour for sitting at a cafe in Times Square all day clicking buttons

Girl is a genius.

Not shilling, trolling, anything
But don't we want to hit zero-profit? Isn't that like one of the first things you learn in Econ?

>golbat tattoo

cmon at least make it a crobat

Productivity is what the owner makes. Hourly compensation is what the wage slave makes. Someone should change the label.
