HELLO AGAIN

>Marvels most popular female

She's playing Storm?

>Marvel’s most popular female superhero.
>Captain Marvel

...

This thread is already a microcosm of the last one.

Hello Ms. Skellington. Why is she so thin? Carol should look more like a bull dyke.

Fucking called it.
>Latest blonde female Oscar winner

Knew she's be on the list, somewhere.

Her face is so forgettable.

>powerful female heroine
Hollywood loves casting stick girls instead of thick girls

To be fair I loved Brie in Scott Pilgrim and 21 Jump, and she won an Oscar for a legit performance in Room. If she's picked I will have 0 problems with it. I'm even excited.

>white

Gross.

Kind of surprised they're turning off Rousey, guess she should have kept her title. As for Captain Marvel, it feels like they've been trying really hard to push her to be able to stand with the big guys, but she just can't measure up to Hulk and Thor.

Why not pick an actress with a bit of oomph and strength?
Jessica Biel would be perfect.

Don't worry, she'll be able to bulk up for the role, just like Gal Gadot famously did for the DCU smash hit Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice!

>forty keks.jpg

... or Katee Sackhoff, who also has a good likeness.

Here we go again. Maybe she'll actually put some effort in unlike Gadot, one can hope.

They want someone who can act.

She is a little thin to be in any sort of service, but I'm actually of the mind that individuals with supernatural abilities don't need imposing figures since the majority of their power has nothing to do with muscles.

She has to measure up to Natasha, Sharon and Hill at the very least though.

>guy gets cast as marvel hero
>wow this guy doesn't really seem the part

> girl gets cast as marvel hero
> wow this girl doesn't really LOOK the part

?????

If this ends up happening, I predict a lot of Carol sitting on cakes fanart will ensue.

>Larson
>acting
Irony there.

Only liked for her sexy looks. That, and she'a another blonde who were on a long list of other blondes to play the role of Captain Marvel. So, that mean she was likely the last candidate consider.

>Rousey
She looks manly as fuck but in Fast and Furious Rhonda was surprisingly arousing

maybe it was the girl fight that did it for me before that she was still looking pretty gross

Nice try but Bruce and Rhodey went through the same gauntlet on their appearance when their actors changed.

She just won an Oscar for Best Actress .

She was amazing in Room so fuck off.

Generally speaking, the MCU hasn't had a problem finding guys who actually look like the heroes they're cast as, so it rarely comes up.

Also, I don't remember a lot of complaints about how Olsen and Johansson looked.

Agreed. Lena Dunham should take up the role.

it's scott pilgrim all the way down

>I predict a lot of Carol sitting on skrull skulls fanart will ensue.
Fixed.

I know men have done it consistently but are there any examples of women drastically changing their physique for an action based role outside of losing a few pounds?

...

Linda Hamilton?

The suit must ave a lot of padding then

>Amy Schumer as Carol Danvers
>used to playing alcoholic train-wrecks with anger issues
>thick physique

>Anita Sarkeesian as Jessica Jones
>has a history as an investigator into injustice and wrongdoing
>has a traumatic past

>implying this isn't the best possible casting

FRIEND OF A FRIEND

>Jessica Jones
>Posts Jessica Drew
Oh, I see, you are retarded.

Why is marvel obsessed with putting skeletons for their female heroes?

My brain crossed wires, you know I meant Drew.

Holy shit! Macauly Culkin's a tranny now?

CAPOIERA SKELLINGTONG!!! EVERYBODY RUN!!!

A lot of people need to take up exercise, and I'm not talking zumba.

...

>Don't worry, she'll be able to bulk up for the role, just like Gal Gadot famously did for the DCU smash hit Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice!

Dunno, she's pretty hot. Nice tits.

>all this Wonder Woman Gal Gadot skeleton shitposting
>Ms. Marvel actress is even thinner but there's very little shitposting in comparison

Look like a porn actress from 70's

Hey, what happened to her face?

Awww, it's been 4 hours since you posted this bait and not a single (You). Don't worry, I got the hook up. Here you go, user, don't spend it all at once.

...

To hell with that.

I'm not even going to point out (as it was already done) about the Jones thing, but Amy Schumer wakes up every day hoping no one notices that she has absolutely no talent for anything. She's not funny, she's ugly, she's annoying, and she is the last thing I would think of if it involved Carol Danvers.

Hell, she looks like the images made where people reduce the size of someone's eyes, nose and mouth but keep the face the same size.

I don't even know you, and I hate you for that idea.

Sarkeesian would be best left under her bridge too.

Poor Gal. Always in the process of being blown back by a furious wind.

I have a bad feeling about this movie

>look up
>some nobody actress who's never done anything remarkable
Yeah sounds like a good fit for Carol.

Ah yes I forgot Oscars were the absolute. Just like how Big Hero 6 was the greatest animated movie of the year.
She's a shit generic pretty face actress. I don't care how hard you waifu her that won't change.

She won an Oscar for Best Actress just this year.

That said, it'd be laughable if she's cast. Being young and winning that Oscar then going to capeshit is a joke. Halley Berry and JLaw couldn't wait to ditch it after winning theirs.

this movie is going to be so bad anyway

what could possibly go wrong?

user I was making a joke, I don't really think either of them have any business being in MCU whatsoever.

And now apperantly the woman who did the Babadook may be the director.

continuing marvels progressive segregation...

Her name has long been mentioned in discussions of who could best portray the fan favorite character, and in an interview with MTV back in 2015, the topic actually came up. It seems that Larson isn't that familiar with the character, however, and possibly got the character confused with DC's Captain Marvel, better known as Shazam, as her first thought was: "To play, isn't that a boy?"

The interviewer gave Larson a few more details, but she still wasn't familiar, saying:"The first female, so would I be playing a man? (laughs), I was like this is interesting, I'm kind of into it. I thought I was always forever going to be stuck playing female roles but, I'm down to play Chris Evans. No, wait, Chris Evans is Captain America. Who's Captain Marvel?"

After a brief pause, the actress still couldn't place the character, but would still be up for the role if that is what fans want to see, adding: "no idea what I'm talking about, great, but people want me to this? Okay, good to know. I guess I've got to start reading the comic book."

and?

or the director from Whale Rider
basically super small budget films focused on women and emotions

gonna need a source for this

Apperantly only black people can direct black panther, and only a woman can do Captain Marvel.

so what's the problem?

I like both those directors.

How does having the same skin color as the character give you an advantage over a person of another race when writing/directing a prince from a highly advanced culture that prowls around in a skin tight black bodysuit?

when did anyone say that?

White guy who likes being a white guy here.

I prefer this to be honest. I trust that normal people are not trying to tell me that my kind is inferior and unworthy of making cultural contributions, even if tumblr and other such rabble are, by way of such directorial selection. I also think that it could lead to interesting differences in storytelling nuance and portrayal that those movies might not otherwise exhibit.

This doesn't mean they won't be capable of creating shit end-results, but Snyder did that too.

Because society as it exists is not some theoretical egalitarian optimum. People's lived experiences are affected by race and sex even if they ideally shouldn't be.
