Liberal Facism

>a book by Jonah Goldberg, in which Goldberg argues that fascist movements were and are left-wing.
Does Sup Forums agree with this? Is facism inherently right or left wing or can it be a possible in both spectrum?

He's right in that both fascism and the varying shades of leftism trace their origin to the utopian ideas of Rousseau. But the left-right dichotomy itself was always an awkward one - one being an alliance of big business and nationalists and the other an alliance of metropolitan globalists and the working poor.

whatberg?

Fascism is socialism on steroids so yes, it is actually a left wing movement.

But today's lefties will never tell you this since the attention of the left has shifted from social rights ot civil rights.

Yes

Yes, Hitler was so easily triggered it's not funny

I don't even know what the definition of fascism is anymore. Are there any countries that are self described fascists?

gold

The political spectrum is not one-dimensional, therefore any projection onto a one-dimensional space will be flawed. What people consider left and right changes drastically over time, and there has never been a clear definition for either. Current leftism strongly resembles fascism in its domestic aspects, as it advocates government intervention in economic affairs and seeks to impose social values onto the population. Foreign aspects of modern leftism are very opposite to those of fascism, which emphasizes sovereignty, independence and strength.

Interesting. I agree that the left-right principal was always a clumsy one. Maybe fascism is inherently tied to both extremist sides of the left-right spectrum and is the one of the best examples to represent the horseshoe theory?

Of course they were. Pretending that the right is responsible for them was a meme made up by commie academics

((((Goldberg))))

See goyim? Greed is good!!!

>(((Goldberg)))

No but I see a lot of Alt Right kucks describing themselves as "fash"

Jesus you guys facism isn't leftist.
It's nationalist and authoritarian.
You can't have it both ways.

(((Goldberg)))

My fucking ID
Kek.

Horseshoe theory is like Aristotle's epicycle theory, just even more stupid. We all know the space of political ideas is not one-dimensional, so if you want to extend the left-right projection to more accurately represent that space, you should start with increasing dimensions, not just embed it into a higher space.

...

holy fuck lmao

M8 u Jerk Off to 1 Jew?

I ALREADY HAVE A THREAD ABOUT THIS

I jerk off to 6 gorrilion, goy.

An entire book about some kike doing damage control for neocons so they can pin fascism on the "other side". Sad!

Fascism arose in a time of global and utter failure of Capitalism and free markets.

But I doubt that German Fascism can be characterized as Leftist movement. The basis of most right-wing thinking is the belief that people are vastly different; divided by their biology and "fates" that cannot be changed.

National Socialism clearly dwelled on that, stating men and women, different nations and ethnicities had different roles in the World that cannot be changed or affected, but have to be executed.

That Social Darwinist fatalism is clearly right-wing.

It is now archived fuck

This might be a problem with storm weenies, but not conservatives.

Yes goy keep pointing fingers.
(My ID is now my Charector)

>RIGHT WING DINDUD NUFFIN

is this Goldberg fucking serious, writing a book like this?

It might be false, what does the left gain by this?
>Fascism is the ultimate expression of rightwingism. Conservatives are regressive
>Um, Stalin, Pol pot, Mao did nothing wrong, or they're actually fascists as well.

world war 2 was welfare socialists fighting national socialists fighting globalist socialists

...

>fascism is a bad thing
Into the oven you go

Good book. I would say the conclusion is more that fascists utilize the greed and ignorance of the left wing than they are inherently left wwing.

Nationalism and totalitarianism is leftist you cuck

>right=anarchism

>m8 jew 1 jew

BEST. FUCKING. ID

>left = total freedom

Alan Snackbar

Both, with Strasserism/syndicalism being the furthest left the movement can go.

didn't the fascists themselves think they were separate from the whole left right dichotomy?

What are the fucking odds of Jew being in an ID

Fascism has leftwing roots. Mussolini was a socialist party member

...

From a libertarian's perspective everything is left wing that isn't libertarianism.

>Jew

Dubs too. Kek wills it.

>Is facism inherently right or left wing

right and left are ill-defined in the first place, but there is definitely a point to be made here. NSDAP doctrine was very much socialist. hell, they called themselves national socialists for a reason.

>peoples community
>large scale government control over the economy
>strong pro-worker rhethoric, strong anti-capitalist rhethoric
>strong hostility towards international finance and banks

if you listen to hitlers speeches, you hear stuff like
>the whole german people must submit to this glorious socialist state!
>the backbone of our movement is not the intellectual class or the urban class, but the german worker and the german farmer above all else!
>the german worker must be liberated from the chains laid on him by international jewish capitalism and high finance!

for fucks sake, their name is literally "National Socialist German Workers Party" and their ideology is FULL of collectivism and centralized state conrol of everything. how the fuck is that not leftist?

Left and right traditionally has been an economic measurement. Fascism is pretty much right in the center as between full Socialism and Free Market Capitalism. The non-economic parts can easily be added to either a free market (Singapore) or socialist (Best Korea) system. So in a sense, it can be possible in both spectrums. Or Fascism can be on it's own, outside of the left v. right spectrum. This is referred to as the Third Way.
