Peridot

Every anime emo teen ever

See Green Lantern TAS

He had more development than any other character in the show. And yet, his final chapters felt completely out of character.

Zuko traveling together with his uncle as fugitives was probably my favorite part of his arc. The Zuko field trips with the gang were fine, but didn't have quite the same tragic depth.

I still liked his reunion with Iroh in the end though.

Came here to post this

Dinobot.

Honestly not a lot of cartoons have the ability, foresight, or depth to pull something like that off. Even the best examples end up like Peridot which is OKAY, but nothing truly special like Zuko's character arc.

>This fucking scene when you've already spent like 40 episodes learning about how conflicted and messed up this kid is

Shit was SO cash.

Already watched, nowhere near as good

Already watched, pretty good

From...?

Could I get examples, please?

Makes me want to rewatch the show. Loved the dynamic those two had.

>From...?
Beast Wars.

god damn that shit does not hold up

Sorry, but do you have another suggestion?

Every other character in Fairy Tail. In fact I am fairly certain there are no evil characters in that damn anime.

It was what? The second ever completely CG cartoon? I know I can't stop loving it but yeah, it can be a little eye searing for anyone that didn't grow up on it.

I thin you're right. I'm not all the way caught up but I think every bad guy becomes their friend or is done in by hubris.

My favorite thing about book three is him trying to fit in with Aang and the others. He was so angry and conflicted the first two seasons when he's around his Uncle, his girlfriend, and his own henchmen. And yet one of the first true moments of him acting like a relaxed, comfortable human being is when he's surrounded by a bunch of people who don't even really care for him. In fact, Katara would've rather seen him dead when he first grouped up with them.

Zuko was a special case. It'll be a while in Western Cartoons that we see such character development done so well again. At least imo.

Azula

I can think of an anime or two. Having trouble thinking of too many Sup Forums with that level of long-term development.

Guts did develop, but he wasn't a full cunt before. He just generally didn't care about people.

Viral in TTGL

A few in Yu Yu Hakusho

Yeah

The chapters alone were fine, I just wished they have it more spaced out with some episodes in between. It's painfully obviously they want to get him interacting and building dynamic with other protagonists before the final showdown. They are probably aware of it too, as shown by all these camping trips meme floating around.

>it can be a little eye searing for anyone that didn't grow up on it.
I remember the action in Beast Wars being like the climactic apex of my childhood.

But lord have we come a long way animation-wise.

Damn, watched both of those

Yea, they each went on a trip with Zuko (except Toph) so they could have a level of meaningful interaction with him before the end

Damn that's so close to my fetish i can make it work.

Not Sup Forums, but Hei from DtB.

Basically goes from "columbine: the anti-superhero", to "batman on a good day".

Gantz could be all over the place, but Kurono's character development was top tier.

In the manga at least.

He's truly one with the matrix.

This guy is Literally Sup Forums Zuko

Todorki from My Hero Academia is so similar to Zuko I am pretty sure the Author is one of the few Japs that actually like the show
