would love to read those notes

I'm a hypocrite because I don't actually like the Flash comics, but I hope Famuyiwa is able to turn the Flash into a hero people like.

The casting pitch sounded like a ripoff of the tv show and I hope something more unique can make it to the big screen.

Shit, man, I'd fuck Ezra, legit.

same desu

The thing is the TV show is a rip off of the pitch.

The pitch predates it and for whatever reason despite Berlanti making it a show they're still interested in using it.

My issue with that is that isn't the surprise spoiled then?

Doesn't it sort of stop being an adaptation if the the post-modern twist of the Reverse Flash re-imagined as a guy masquerading as a paraplegic professor has already been pursued in another medium?

Wouldn't it make more sense to try something different?

>the post-modern twist

what

I completely agree with you. Just wanted to point out that the pitch was before the show, as many don't seem to understand that.

I would really love a movie where Jay was The Flash beforehand and Barry is inspired by him but I know that's not going to happen. I'll even take the older origin of Barry being inspired by Jay's comic book.

Does this movie even stand a chance?

Every fucking Youtube video or news article are FULL of people bitching, saying Grant Gustin should be the Flash in the movie. Is it dead on arrival?

Are those the two Johns trades at the bottom?

I think it's mostly New 52, Flash Rebirth towards the top, and the Johns ones at the bottom.

Only like 2 million people watch the show while probably 40-50 million would see the movie, so no

One should be the By Grant Morrison & Mark Miller trade.

The second Johns volume isn't out until next week.

Not at all.

People whine about that stuff all the time. Doesn't mean they'll actually boycott the thing.

>what

So in the old comics from the 50's, the Reverse Flash is just a yellow guy from the future.

Post-modernism is when a writer starts to deconstruct from a more humanist perspective what it is that's supposed to motivate the Reverse Flash to have such an animosity towards the Flash.

Johns made him kill Barry's mother when Flash is a child, thereby metaphorically representing a childhood tragedy that shapes a person's life.

The tv show took this another step, having Thawne stuck in the "past," hiding in plain sight as a mentor figure to Barry. Barry must then confront that a figure he admires is also directly responsible for shaping much of his adult life through cruel murder.

It's post-modern.

Yeah. It's why Ghostbusters is gonna be a home run hit.

No sarcasm there I am dead serious. That movie is going to make money because people will go too see it just to be angry.

I think anger purchases only works with Marvel

It came out on May 24.

Back in the day people actually tried to say they wouldn't see Sam Raimi's Spider-Man because his costume had raised webbing.

Nerds are fucking liars is what I'm saying.

Digital came out on the 24th.

Physical's streetdate is the 9th.

He has some nice legs

Well that's weird because my LCS already had it last week. May 24 was the date it came out, the clerk said.

he must run a lot

They're not liars, they just make up an inconsequential amount of the market.

According to B&N it's June 9th. Though looking at Amazon it's May 24th.

I do hope he got the Morrison and Miller one too though.

>They're not liars

They're liars. Pedantic nerds who hound ever frame of trailers are a superficial and cowardly lot, their claims are almost always posturing for manufactured controversy.

It's really weird because Amazon says May 24th but they only list the Kindle version.

Which would be Digital then.

Your LCS probably just broke street date.

Huh, I'll have to ask. In any case, I don't see why Famuyiwa couldn't have it before release date, as those are probably provided to him by the studio.

Popping in to say this:

Generally comic shops get TPB/Graphic Novels before the big book stores. Usually it's like one or two weeks prior.

Physical came out the 18th of May.

Might be cliche or predictable, but I want Flash from a post-apocalyptic future to come back in modern time to help the League change their future for the better, but can't go back in time cause Thawne is speed forde cucking him.

Both my LCS and the Barnes & Noble here in Anchorage, AK have it and we usually take longer to get anything in stock.

damnit which books where he reading? I need to know if he has shit taste

>All that New 52
