What is love? John writes “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3) and Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:16) and Jesus says “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him” (John 14:21). You can’t say you love God and not do what He asks you to do. That’s not love but disobedience. Love equals obedience. We obey, not because we are loved, but because we love Him and do things that are pleasing in God’s sight and so the Ten Commandments are still relevant today. These were not nailed to the cross by Christ but those ordinances of washings and animal sacrifices have been made obsolete by Jesus’ perfectly atoning death on our behalf.

Posted this in another thread but I fear most young people are meme Christians, at least in England, the only young religious people are the Muslims and probably Hindu Indians but there's only a minority Indians. I personally find it very hard to believe or have faith you could say, I think it's mainly due to the alienation of the secular and globalist society I live in, I mean how can you believe in anything after seeing some of the shit we've seen online? Not to say religious people are stupid, if anything I understand why you believe, because it's an unshakeable rock in an unstable world but I personally just can't do it, something is stopping me, like a wall maybe, I'm a product of my environment and I'm not supposed to be a believer, I feel so hopeless though. All I see is civilisation dying, everything that was beautiful will eventually be gone, it's all so foreign.
Two Christian denominations I've been looking at is Anglicanism, since it's the religion of my country, and the Salvation Army, except they don't allow you to drink alcohol, not even moderately, I just like their fancy military uniforms though.
Any advice? It's like I want to believe but I can't, I feel like I'm forcing myself and in fact not truly a believer, I don't want to pretend, it would feel like a lie.

You were born into this world spiritually dead in your trespasses and sins through Adam, into Satan's kingdom of darkness, serving Satan cut off from God and on your way to hell.
