Amazed at how a comic this good managed to be published in the most boring Marvel era. Loved everything about it. How is it selling compared with Bendis shit and SWJ pandering?

It's among the lowest selling Marvel books. 19k copies in April.

Obviously, Bendis's books outsell it handily. As for SJW books...depends on what you consider them. It beats Unbeatable Squirrel Girl by about 1000 physical floppies (although it's probably lower digitally).

What are some other non pandering books from Marvel besides this one and Carnage?

Nighthawk

>most boring Marvel era
Ultimates, Ms. Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, ANAD Avengers, Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men, etc.

Were you reading mainstream Marvel in the late 90's? There have been worse times to be a comic fan.

This better be bait.

>ANAD Avengers
>Spider-Man

How do you have such shit taste?

Ant-Man. Unless you consider that pandering to the movie audience.
Moon Knight

Define "pandering" please

>thing I don't like

Why don't they release digital numbers?

Is this one of those threads where we subtly complain about things that we like because all we know how to do is explain?

You forgot Moon Knight, Contest of Champions, Carnage and Spider-Man and Deadpool

Late 90's gave us Busiek's Avengers and Thunderbolts. Don't even pretend the X-titles weren't better back then, Marvel have been slowly killing the mutant brand since AvX.

Old Man Logan, Astonishing Ant-Man, Moon Knight

Because they're an even bigger joke than the physical numbers

The Onslaught-and-later Lobdell Uncanny wasn't very good. Seagle's either. Best time for X-books was 80s and 00s.

>SWJ pandering
The majority of the books sell really badly.
Stop being so reactionary.

All three Ewing books.

Unless blacks and lesbians trigger you.

Was the TPB printed with the letter pages?

King comics don't sell
indicative that he doesn't write good ones
capitalism is the best judge

This bait is too obvious, mate

It's not out yet. Roughly a month to go.

>YFW after it's finished and you will never read another Marvel book ever again

>mfw these are some kids who will actually do this

If only. Still have three other books I'll be reading. We'll see after Marvel Now 2.0 though, that could definitely kill it.

What are they?

Carnage, new avengers and visión.

If you arent reading these you are a pleb

>Carnage isn't pandering
It's about 3 non-white no-nonsense tough gals (1 of whom is fabulously wealthy) tracking down a white, Heterosexual super-criminal with the help of their sidekicks, who are monsters that also happen to look like straight white men.

Carnage is pandery as fuck. The thing is, it's good anyway.

Not him, but i'm reading Vision, Moon Knight and Carnage.

What's good among the new titles?

I'm reading alot of stuff I know I'm going to need to cut the fat. I like Inhumans but those Charles Soule books aren't very good.

Moon Knight, Black Widow, and Karnak. Pretty sure Karnak's getting stealth canceled after issue 6 though, so I guess it'll be more like 2 books.

Carnage, Vision, Ms. Marvel and New Avengers are all good.

Silk, Venom, Spidey and Gwenpool are OK.

You and I have different definitions of pandering, because for me, not the guy you reply to, carnage is trying to pander to nostalgia fags with things like Eddie Brock with symbiote and all powerfull carnage, the reason why is good is because is trying something different.

I mean who would have tought carnage would gain lovecraftian powers.

Vision, New Avengers, Uncanny X-Men whenever they get Land off art, Totally Awesome Hulk, maybe Spider-Man/Deadpool and Carnage. Everything else is mediocre to shit.

Gwenpool is entertaining, but it doesn't really have enough going for it now. Surprisingly, I've been digging International Iron Man, although I think it's just Maleev on art that's making me like it

>Implying Gerry Conway, the guy who killed Gwen Stacy, created the Punisher, and has been writing comics since before your parents graduated high school is pandering.

Dude, fucking what?

Ultimates a fun cosmic book, I didn't care for the first couple of issues (or Rocafort's art, heresy as that may be) but with the last few Ewing's been hitting his stride and working Civil War II into the plot in a reasonable way that retroactively makes some of Bendis' terrible choices make sense.

>Doctor Strange
>ANAD Avengers
>Spider-man (either of them)
>Uncanny X-men
yikes

>Pretty sure Karnak's getting stealth canceled after issue 6 though
Fuck. Does anybody know if Ellis is gonna do another book for Marvel after that?

All new inhumans is pretty good

it's better than Uncanny Inhumans, I just don't feel strongly about it so far. I'll stick with that and Karnak though.

Ehh, as much I enjoyed Nighthawk, it was kind of pandering to the stereotype of whites just trying to keep the black man down

>How is it selling compared with Bendis shit and SWJ pandering?
Horribly. It fell well below the cancellation line by issue 4 (and the first 3 issues were given away for free to try and get people interested), and the only reason Marvel is letting it get the full 12 issues is because they probably hope the recoup the costs in trades.

Karnak.

And Yet Squirrel girl is still going.

Nighthawk actually managed to insert racially-charged crime in a realistic way? Is a book pandering just because it features white supremacists/gentrification now? The book wasn't over the top about it at all.

What the fuck is wrong with everyone's faces?

I'm reading Ms. Marvel. That's it. Once Vision gets canned it'll be all I have from Marvel.

As of now I'm pulling

>Visiom
>Karnak
>Moon Knight
>Nighthawk

How's my taste Sup Forums?

Your taste is about to get cancelled.

Right now I'm pulling
>Hellcat
>Squirrel Girl
How are my tastes?

It actually sells better than Squirrel Girl.
Only by a little over 1k, but still.

You're a grandmaster comic book reader. You have mastered the panels and now understand true art.
Praise be to you user.

squirrel girl best girl

I remember when that was true.
Then Bendis pretended he was in on the joke and then this...thing happened.
Thank goodness for Ewing.

You're forgetting that page count is at an all time low, paper quality is complete shit, and prices have been higher than ever. Marvel just needs to crash and burn already so it can be reborn into a new age of actual decent quality.

Even Moon Knight? I hope Nighthawk can make it to at least 12 issues.

>Even Moon Knight? I hope Nighthawk can make it to at least 12 issues.

Moon Knight will possibly make it to 16. I doubt Nighthawk will get to 8. I give props for Marvel actually trying stuff with different characters in ANAD, but they won't try and push it if it's not in a Disney/ABC/Netflix production.

I mean, christ. They dropped stuff like Howling Commandos, Red Wolf, Black Knight, Weirdworld, etc quicker than they could put out the first issue. Nighthawk and Hyperion definitely won't see the end of the summer. Squadron Supreme is probably soon after (Robinson can't catch a break).

None that are announced, maybe once Marvel starts soliciting the (new) Marvel Now stuff we'll see him pop up again. He's working on the second arc for James Bond right now apparently, though.
