Ann Nocenti. I tried far too many promising comics by her and was burned every single time. I will never read one of her books again.

Erica Henderson

scott snyder

Modern or older? As awful as her New 52 stuff was I love Longshot and Daredevil

>following female writers
that's your fault

Alex Maycomp.

Faggots on Sup Forums actually defend him

Johns

>writer

Bendis, Loeb, the gaggle of "diversity" hires who just want to talk about tampons and microaggressions.

Hopeless is special case, in that he fails in such a spectacular way and turns everything he touches to shit

>artist

Deodado, Land, whoever the fuck decided to use Poser for all those War Machine comics

Brian Micheal Bendis.

He writes things that seem relevant to my interests and yet... I always hate them. ALWAYS. I've been burnt so many times. His work isn't even offensively bad, usually; it's just so dull. And interminable.

I keep a spreadsheet to track runs I've read/want to read and I have a special category that reads "Bendis >:(" to remind myself when it's not even worth picking the book up off the shelf.

...

>using emoticons in a spreadsheet

Bob Kane because he is a gigantic fucking faggot

Dillon

This is a speical situation for me, I'm not really a Punisher fan so I never read the comics with the legendary Frank Faces, but I did binge read Thunderbolts, and by the time I was all caught up Marvel NOW had announced the next Thunderbolts team would features Punisher, Venom and various other Not Thunderbolts characters, and I got excited, wanting to give the crazy ass team a chance, was even willing to give Way the benifit of the doubt, but I didn't know about Dillon. I saw the first cover and fell in love with that art, then I opened the comic and had my very first introduction to Dillon. And I just.. felt so ripped off, so cheated by this that I cringe when I see his name.

New 52.

Well to be fair I wasn't following Nocenti, I just happened to find the characters she was put on interesting and didn't yet realize that she apparently has no talent. Or no longer has talent, either way same conclusion.

Look. There are three types of comics in the world. Comics I've read, comics I want to read, and comics I want to read but they're by fucking Bryan Micheal Bendis AGAIN

Larroca (if the inker is himself): tracing, stealing from Google Images, "photorealistic" shit

Austen. Luckily, he is blacklisted nowadays.
>We could've gotten Austen's version of Avengers Disassembled
True nightmare.

FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK; Frank Frank Frank Frank, Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank! Frankly, Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank Frank; Frank Frank.

John Romita Jr. It's the cheek lines that kill it for me. And his penchant for skimping on detail as of recent.

Huge sjw now and seconds was horrible

He's also a half-gook

I remember when he was getting wanked as a great storyteller but god, what an ugly story it is.

I don't know the names, but
>writer
the one who wrote the series on Silver Surfer with that fat chick with the colored hair
>"artist"
the one who draw She-Hulk in the pre-Battleworld series

> Luckily, he is blacklisted nowadays

is that what they call not hiring a shitty writer? Or did he actually do something so horrible that he's blacklisted from all major comics publications?

I feel like lasers shouldn't cause blood to gush everywhere but I have no facts to back that up.

>Dan Slott
I fucking love the idea of Superior Spider-man and Spider-verse but how you manage to fuck BOTH of those up is beyond me.

>Humberto Ramos or Brett Booth.
For Ramos, he just has really shitty and inconsistent art.

For Booth, everybody he draws has a weird shiny chrome look to them. Also most of his designs are garbage.

Brandon Graham.

He's a douche.

>the one who draw She-Hulk in the pre-Battleworld series
Javier Pulido

>sidecut
>Batman kissing a guy shirt
What an awful human

>Kate Leth, Christopher Poole and I are all the same age

I'm 28 and I haven't been ostracized from my own imageboard or cheated with a cancer patient yet.

>Huge sjw now
I remember when he had to defend himself from people saying Scott Pilgrim had too many white characters in it. I mean it seemed to represent Toronto , mostly white people and some asians

He became a poison to sales. Every time they gave him a book sales fell fast. So, at least Big 2, pretty much agreed never to hire him again.

mcfarlane for obvious reasons

>Superior Spider-man
Was Superior Spider-man written by Slott? Really? Holy fuck, I enjoyed that series. I would NEVER have thought he was the writer.

>kissing a guy
Isn't that Superman?

...

>a guy
That's Superguy to you, punk.

>those tattoos
>those hair
>that shirt
Why do girls do that to himself? What do they want to convey?

Lasers would presumably cauterize the wound

First they offered to keep hiring him if he would used a pseudonym and Austin probably felt so insulted by that he left. He went to work in Animation, he's a producer on Steven Universe

Found actual quote from Austen:
>They were having problems with my scripts and general direction, and sales weren’t where they wanted them. They wanted a top ten book, and felt another writer could get them there, when I couldn’t. What I was told was that Dan Didio had a conversation with various retailers who said they would never order anything with my name on it because they hated me so much, and that it was creating a ceiling of sales on “Action” that I would never be able to break through. So, I was off Superman. I refused to work under a pseudonym, so DC fired me and blacklisted me from the company
Than he wrote shitty kinda-capeshit parody. And then he wrote baseball porn manga-looking comic. Which is hillarious, considering how he started.

I know Chris Sims is hated here, but he did the best summary of Chuck Austen's career a while ago

comicsalliance.com/ask-chris-89-the-rise-and-fall-of-chuck-austen/

I know that feel my friend.

Alex Ross, Mark Waid, Geoff Johns, basically any of the nostalgia crowd

>"Stay away"
That's a shame because she looks like could be cute. Not that I would make a move anyway, I'm a huge faggot. I guess which kind of guys actually are attracted by girls like that.

He's a novelist now.

I tried getting into about 2-3 different spawn trades which were when mcfarlane actually wrote it and didnt just hand it to someone else

THE MAN CANNOT PACE. The pages are filled to the brim with exposition and dialogue, and none of it is interesting. In Endgame I think, there was like 10-11 pages where 2 characters were bantering while spawn was doing "cool" things and i nearly fell asleep multiple times. He just haphazardly puts exposition over decent/ugly art with no rhyme or reason

while spawn as a concept is interesting, thats all it is, just a concept. Literally not a single enemy/nemesis or anything resembling a rogue's gallery. A hero is defined by his enemies, and spawn has none asides from malebolgia which sucked anyways

I'm honestly surprised this isent a more commen answer sure he has been dead for years but he was insufurable when he was alive

>he doesn't read Prophet

I remember reading Spider-Man: Torment and thinking 'Jesus, this arc is a mess.' It was strange mix of appealing to nostalgia (basic Lizard and Calisto), waifufags (random MJ moment) and mysticism.

I dunno man, Spawn had a few noteworthy bad guys beyond the big M, off the top of my head I can think of
>Violator
>Redeemer
>Overtkill
>Tormentor (Reforms later)
>Angela (questionable)
>Chapel

Mark Waid has become increasingly irritating to me

David Fincher. His stuff is just so bland

>while spawn as a concept is interesting, thats all it is, just a concept

I think the thing that makes me like Spawn are the character designs. Todd was really just out to make cool looking toys and I think the character deigns by him and Capullo are still pretty strong. They're over the top in the way that 90's Image was, but they're not the eyesore that Extreme or Wildstorm characters could be

Isn't David Fincher a movie guy

are you thinking of David Finch?

Mark Millar

he really is just the worst

yeah that guy

Met him in person, he's such a nice guy I sometimes feel bad for hating the shitty comics he wrote.

Kate Leth and Marguerite Bennett. Bendis. Ramos, especially with the way modern stuff is colored.

>See also - Zack Snyder's batman run, Rose Byrne's fantastic four

>Rose Byrne's fantastic four
Is he the guy who traced the characters from magazines and Google images?

...

This
I don't do that spreadsheet shit you fucking weirdo but everything else I agree with. Fuck Bendis

>I don't do that spreadsheet shit you fucking weirdo
You just triggered, and basically raped, me

because Bob Kane never actually wrote anything in his life, so if you see his name on a cover you don't actually know who was the real writer.

I swear I'm usually not this autistic, but over 3 years I had multiple 2Tb hard drives full of comics break/fail and so it became a habit to track what I had on them

You're triggering me by reading so many Bendis comics

>so many Bendis comics
Eh. The second half has none, btw, mate

Artist is easy. Benes for DC and Land for Marvel. Both are on time artist that kill any emotion or pacing on books they work on with their still, monotonous style. Can't count how many titles I avoided when they came on.

Writer? Slott right now. Funny, I can handle a bad writer but a bad artist I can't stomach, even if they got Alan Moore or the ghost of John Broome to write for them

Brian Michael Bendis
Bendis?
Yeah, Bendis?
Bendis, the writer Bendis?

The hell? This guy talking about Bendis?

Scott McDaniel. Can't stand his art. I did like his early Nightwing runs tho.

Robert Venditti.

Heh

Enki Bilal. His stuff is like the worst kind of lolrandom except also insufferably pretentious.

cluster B.

Kate Leth, for being a worthless waste of space for respectable comic books. I begrudge her every single tree her shit gets printed on.
Honestly, I would hate her for every recycled piece of toilet paper, too.

And Dan Abnett for wasting time he could spend writing more Eisenhorn.

Henderson is an artist fucking casual

>faces are the most important part of graphic art
Go look at headshots or something you fucking pleb
Dillon isn't a 10/10 artist but he still foes better layouts and can convey action better than a good chunk of the industry

American Vamp was decent.....

Who ever has made this claim? Miller is aaster of the medium holy shit I'm fucking mad, that's like calling Michael Bay the American Alfred Hitchcock

They're both mentally ill and hate the opposite gender. Think about it.

>le Miller is a misogynist meme
Fucking casuals will never read Martha Washington will they?

Brian K. Vaughan, he's the Joss Whedon of comics.

They are. Humans look there first. So having the faces right is half the job for an artist.
You need an appealing design, express the right emotion and keep the symmetry right.
Not saying a clear visual representation of the action isn't important, but proper faces are the foundation of immersion.
Look at fucking Alphona. Man can't draw a straight line to save his life, but he has expressive faces that give characters personality and that's good enough for many books.
