Why do you even care? Hezbollah just want to fight Israel but the moderate terrorists keep fucking around.
Jeremiah Lewis
Battle is still ongoing. Likely wont have a clear indication of the new frontlines until morning Syria time. So 0-10 hours from now.
Zachary James
Last time I've seen stuff from Syria was during the battle for Palmyra. Then nothing happened and suddenly BOOM Aleppo encircled and now the big rebel attack.
But isn't there mostly open land outside of Aleppo? Of course you can't defend this easily. They might fall back to the outskirts of the city which are easier to hold.
Assuming phase 1 was some sort of a "shock" blitz to capture as much land as possible, is phase 2 the consolidation / entrenching of these gains, or is it an entirely different push?
armchair generals, help me out

>wasteland >advancing ok

>almasdarnews.com/article/field-report-jihadi-rebels-gain-grounds-southern-aleppo-map-video/ >Jihadi fighters have so far managed to capture Al-Hikma School (an advanced Army defense line) after two suicide bombers blew up their VBIEDs outside the facility. >The hardline militants also seized several nearby hilltops, thus overlooking the Artillery Faculty and Assad Military Academy. >Simultaneously, militants in Al-Rashidin district burned huge numbers of wheels in order to disturb potential airstrikes.
Leo Jenkins
From what Ive gathered, generally: (correct me if Im wrong) Fatah Halab = opposition umbrella inside east Aleppo city Jaish al-Fateh = opposition umbrella outside Aleppo city

Anything new today?
Did the Aleppo offensive start?
Eli Butler
>Ahmed get the Toyota ready, yallah, Phase 2 is starting! >We burned all the tires Fateh. >Shit.

Its just first attempt. They didnt use their reseves. They must use all their soldiers for the ambush.
Anthony Allen
they most likely gonna entrench the most important positions and the other sections of the battlefield they will probably attack
Adam Miller
More suicide bombings, then advance, repeat This is their entire strategy

Luis Gomez
Rebel groups are losing their commanders/officers at a very high rate recently At least 2 today already this leads some of the posters in here to believe that they are pursuing increasingly stupid tactics because idiots are now occupying officer positions
Isaac Flores
Probably the same as usual. Send in some suicide bombers and then a mass troop rush. Throw in some captured tanks to try and hold the ground.
Too bad the SAA knew it was coming.
Seriously, this assault has catastrophe written all over it.
Josiah Collins
Don't they still have three letter agency advisors to "moderate" their operations and strategy?
Nolan Sanchez
yes, I read that too. But FH isn't a commander?
Ayden Cruz
It was a joke, mein Freund
Tyler Gray
>Fatah Halab They are in Aleppo city and the northern/western Aleppo countryside. Their main goal is the liberation of the city itself.
from which country are the terrorists that cover their face?
Connor Watson
Caliphate of Al-Autistityya
Josiah Ramirez
Doesn't look like it. Oh well.
Oh mein kekels.
It's not like it's uncalled for, unless they've suddenly learned some next level strategy where they pretend to be complete retards and then just take everyone by surprise, they just seem to be retarded.
Don't those only help them from time to time? I doubt that they're able to plan stuff out for them on the go.
James Williams
EXPLOSION!
Ayden Parker
>moderate headchoppers
Noah Bennett
Rumour was that the Turk advisors pulled out hours after the coup attempt earlier in the month. There haven't been western advisors with them since Russian entered the war and made the guy who makes those silver stars for the foyer memorial for fallen agents the richest man in town. They are leaderless, and this straight charge at the thinnest bit tactic shows that.
Luis Thomas
Poland or Ukraine obviously.
Eli Collins
What do?
Grayson Gonzalez
Also Turkey retired their advisors due to the coup attempt.
Joseph Gray

They used to be allies, until Hamas sold their soul to the Saudis.
It all makes sense now... it was a consbiracy all along!!
Noah James
Thanks for that more detailed specification
Logan Johnson
Long time no see /sg/
Are the pro-ISIS guys still around or have the vans come for all of them?
Hunter James
You have to bear in mind that the SAA are now pretty experienced defensive troops. All well dug in and well supplied. They've seen this type of attack dozens of times since the war started and had plenty of notice it was coming.
Fall back positions and strong points are part of the strategy. The enemy is MEANT to advance at the start. The idea is attrition, not capturing ground, or even holding it if it has no tactical merit.
Once the FSA hits the strong points the artillery and air power get turned up and the counterattacks start. This is exactly how the north of the city was secured just a few days ago.
Zachary Phillips
>Souria4Syrians Really good source you have there Hahahaha this secular whore is lying again, the city will be ours from you Assadist rats.
