This song has gone from being banned for obscenity, to being frowned upon due to transphobia in a period of less than 50 years. My theory is that during one of his deepest acid trips, Syd caught a glimpse of the future and couldn't deal with what he saw.
Honestly, would this even be acceptable today?

>Confederate is portrayed sympathetically
I like sugar and I like tea
But I don't like niggers, no siree
There's two darn things that'll make me puke
A hog eatin' slop and a big black spook
It's not just that bullshit. My sister is getting her bachelors in criminal justice, and apparently female psych was a class she could take this summer to finish up (rather than doing another semester).
Her professor actually had her write a letter to our parents, coming out as gay. That was one of their assignments. Another was to memorize all the different pronouns for people, etc.
College is brain washing with a liberal agenda, there are no two ways around it.

This shit would never fly in the current year.

Jewish Princess
>modern music
It would pass, but never on a large tv network. It'd have to be relatively local to minimize butthurt

When I went to school 10 years ago or so English was compulsory and French/German/Spanish optional. My school didn't offer Arabic other than special "home language" classes for those with Arabic parents (similar classes existed for Persian, Finnish and various other languages). Honestly it's more likely that English will take over than Arabic. English is already more versatile than Swedish in Sweden.

>There's a salmon colored girl who sets my heart a whirl
>Who lives along the Yukon far away
>Where the northern lights they shine she rubs her nose to mine

>Then I take her hand in mine and set her on my knee
>The squaws along the Yukon are good enough for me

it didn't spark any outrage on its release between 2007 and 2008. can't really imagine it being released today without a shitstorm.
For fellow Finns:

It's actually satire for arguments used by "racists" at the time to justify the apartheid and having dealings with South Africa (we purchased a lot of military equipment with them, for explanation for the part about Finland).
