Given it's not from Japan, would "There She Is!" be considered a cartoon?

Well yeah, even if it was an anime it's still a cartoon at heart

I forgot all about it until this morning. They apparently did an HD rerelease of all the episodes earlier this year and crowdfunded a new one with a DVD compilation.

>Japan
It's a South Korean team

Anything Eastern belongs in Sup Forums

That's my point. It's not Japanese. Thus, it belongs on Sup Forums, right?

Yes damn, next Step when?

Does it matter? It's all definition bullshit and animation is becoming more and more international.

It's damn good and that's all that counts.

>Anything Eastern
Just Japanese. When you get into stuff like Korean works, it goes to Sup Forums, though VERY rarely you can get a manhwa or Korean webcomics thread on Sup Forums, but it'd still fitting as Sup Forums content.

It feels like it belongs here. But if you have any doubt, then make poll.

>cute girl lusting over guy's dick
>guy doesn't want to fuck the girl inside out right in the spot
does this happen irl or is that cat just gay as fuck?

half of Sup Forums cartoons are animated in korea anyway.

LEARN TO READ

Not sure. They went way over their initial fundraising goal, now they're doing a couple cons in the US, so I'd imagine that'll push back the release date.

Based Koreans unlike fucking nippons pay attention to body (head) proportions.

>Korea
Korea is just part of Japan

China too

It's because the cat was racist.

You keep forgetting there's a race thing in their society. It's not that he doesn't wanna, it's that he's not allowed.

Firendly reminder, two nukes weren't enough

>guy doesn't want to violate an enormous social taboo that eventually nearly gets his girlfriend killed

Besides I'm pretty sure the first episode was supposed to be a cute Pepe le Peu-style love chase one-shot and then they got so many responses they decided to make more.

Well we still have threads for Lucky Pie and that's a chinese cartoon, so yeah I'd say we can post this here.

The creator seems like a nice dude

I'll violate more than taboos if I was there

Sup Forums is everything not japan

What the... Holy shit, it actually makes sense!

If Hedgehog and Squirrel were Sup Forums then 'There She Is' is Sup Forums.

>It's not that he doesn't wanna, it's that he's not allowed.
that has never stopped a dick

Careful, user, she'll eat you up

I thought Sambakza was a team and made the shorts. What is Sambakza then?

meant to post this

Right? But I'm afraid to search for more crossover fanart at work. The results could be dire.

I think his team grew after Step 2: Cake Dance. The animation quality got way better. Either that or he's shitty at English.

a Djinn enslaved to produce korean furry content

Wow, I haven't seen There She Is since like 2006.

Time to catch up, there's 5 episodes and 1 incoming.

it's incredible how dark it gets in episode 4

poor hedgehog :(

Checked the fanart tag on tumblr.

It's weird seeing people talk about something I saw in college as something they saw in middle school.

Not gonna lie, episode 5 still makes me tear up

How hard did it hit you when you realised that all her little daydreams from part 1 come true when they're running from the mob in part 5?

>as Nabi gives in to fear and despair his scarf loses all its color

it's the little things

Right there with you, the running hug at the airport hit me hard.

Oh, SHIT

I can sing the songs from step 1, 2 and 4 from memory.

IMAGINE ALL THE PEOPLE IN PEACE

step 3 is the best step

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

What is the next Step for? We got a happy ending already, the cat and the bunny are together.

If we're talking context-free I prefer Cake Dance. Within the series as a whole I'd say it's still Imagine.

Come to think of it, it's strange that Cake Dance came before their official first date.

>those eyes

It looks like he wants to kill me

Next Step is a prequel/interquel, shows why the Jjintta Set knows Doki and why they eventually help Doki/Nabi.

Perhaps the leader was in love with Doki but, with time, he understood if he truly loves the girl, he has to accept she loves someone else and let her go. It wasn't Nabi's fault, it was his own insecurity causing all the problems.
Of course the whole "racism" thing was a big part of it too.

Japan produces around as many cartoons as the U.S. or China, making it tied for the largest maker and by far the largest per capita. Anime in Japan is an enormous but interconnected ecosystem, similar to Hollywood or Bollywood. It's not a genre or style but rather a production site, which is why it's easy to assign its own board.
Manhwa also has quite a distinct history from Japanese works.
Anime was greatly influenced by Disney comics and shorts that the occupying Americans dumped on Japan post-WWII. Manhwa finds some of its origins in anti-Japanese political cartoons from the Japanese occupation of Korea, and embargos against Japanese media stretched into the 90s. Thus resistant to Japanese culture, instead various aspects of Korean mythology, unfriendly dictatorships, and American cultural imports shaped manhwa into something quite distinct from manga and anime.

Korean animation was underwhelming for a long time, but the last 8 years or so has seen a great growth of animators who cut their teeth on Japanese and American outsourcing.
Combine that workforce with obviously talented creators like Sambakza, and you've got a recipe for some really cool Korean cartoons in a few years.

Yeah, I think they'll get into that. Apparently Il-ho (the leader) is also angry at his younger brother Yi-ho for being in a relationship with a cat at the end of Imagine and they're going to confront that as well.

remember user, as long as the cartoon you are talking about is not from the place colored in red, it's Sup Forums related.

Apparently it's all an adorable commentary on Korean/Japanese dating.

holy shit i had no idea about this.
i'm glad not EVERYTHING i remember from old internet is just abandoned

this
there's this korean Inside Out where the guy's inner emotions talk to him and he just suppresses them. it's depressinglarious

Okay, I'm just trying my luck here but...
Does anyone remember this flash animation (I forgot if it was either japanese or korean) about a guy who's all lonely and tries finding blind dates in some dating website? He finds a really cute girl and they talk all the time, he falls in love with her but when they finally meet, the girl is all ugly and he gets dissapointed.
It was just in a humorous way though and there was a song playing all the way through the animation.

Also, this animation was being posted during the same period things like There She Is appeared, it's nothing recent.

>That comic
>every feminists in general
kek

japanese cartoons are called anime

you could call cartoons to every draw animation

There were gay undertones? Can't remember.

Dang. Haven't seen this shit in ages. I guess its time to watch it again.

Thanks, OP! And it's clearly a cartoon. Anything outside Japan is a cartoon.

Who is this fox girl and where is she from?

Try telling that to Sup Forums. Anything Korean gets a "gooks leave, reeee" response.

It usually devolves into political shit flinging too.

As it should.
Arr rook same isn't an argument.

Sup Forums tries to imitate it's groriours wapanese overlords in the hopes that they will someday ignore the fact that they are all gajin and accept them into superior nippon.

so the usual weeb autism ruining things.

>I'm not the only one who thought about this when watching Zootopia
Glad to know my cancer is less cancer

Woah when that happen?

But Sup Forums hates japanese otakus and their taste. And i know this i am Sup Forumsnon.

The very end of Final Step. As Doki and Nabi run, you see Pizza the Cat wiping the egg off his hand onto a protestor's back, The Gray Rabbit finally giving flowers to the Cat Businesswoman, and Pi helping Yi-ho. If memory serves Yi-ho had already shown interest in Pi at the end of Step 2, much to Il-ho's annoyance.

Seeing this again for the first time in years is bringing back all kinds of emotions right now. I've got the bitch tears and everything.

>There's a new step coming.

I didn't cry but it did give me a warm fuzzy feeling in my chest.

Since when has anime not paid attention to proportions?

Remember hearing about this flash back when the first part came. I remember the talk on newgrounds and classmates mentioning it. Was never really interested. Decided to actually watch it just now because of this thread. Hella cute.

>cute girl lusting over guy's dick
>cute girl

From your perspective, but to him she's a different species and he has no instinctual attraction to her. It'd be like if a dog started trying to hump you, even if it wasn't a really ugly dog you'd still tell it to go away.

>your perspective
>to him she's a different species
Nigga, she's still a different species even assuming that that user is a human.

Even at the end of the first episode, it showed he was at least a little attracted to her when she was drinking the fish juice. You even see a little cartoon heart come out of him.

Later in the series, you see other cat/bunny couples, so it's more of a sociological thing that kept him away from her than a biological thing.

Cats aren't allowed to be with cats. It'd be like if you were living in Sup Forumstopia and some cute black girl started hitting on you.

>tfw no new episode
>tfw no translations

I don't even care about Lt. Vixen, I actually kind of sound the story interesting and even watched the episodes that didn't have her in them.

>tfw if this cartoon was made in by an American in the modern age, Sup Forums would just shit all over it for being SJW racemixing propaganda.

I was around 7 when I first saw that cartoon, never knew it was about interracial relationships.

Best explanation.

>visit Sup Forums for the first time in years
>see this
>instantly remember young me and my bro playing flash games on Newgrounds, watching flashes
>My bro was into Street Fighter and I remember myself playing the fighting game featuring all the Newgrounds characters

What I'd do to relive it all over again

>only getting the positive theme of interracial relationships from this flash
>even thinking about it in the first place

Nigger you cant be serious

...

I bet there's tons of 34.

And when not focused on the Jjintta Set it's surprisingly cute: rule34-data-009.paheal.net/_images/0996812b798441ca026c3a174bee27db/910548 - Doki Nabi There_She_Is.JPG
