Honorable members of Sup Forums, what is your opinion of Hancock?

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN

TONIGHT HE COMES

honestly, it was a pretty good exploration of a superpowered being in the "real world"
>mass destruction
>populace complaining
>PR guy trying to spin an upside

>hancock
>cock
hahaha

It was pretty entertaining until they introduced that female hancock storyline, after which it took a steep nosedive.

I liked it. It's been so long I don't remember why though.

This. First part was fun. Second part was pretty shit.

I liked it.

I think.

I mean... I remember enjoying myself while watching the movie in theatres but any and all plot points they had in the actual movie itself I seem to be unable to recall.

I can't even name any of the characters other than Will Smith.

Huh...weird.

The first half is one of the best superhero origin stories ever filmed. The second half is one of the worst anythings ever filmed.

>What should have been about an alcoholic super powered man trying to change for the better and become a true hero became a clusterfuck story about him and this girl being aliens or someshit and they were married but then he got amnesia and through contrived convenience become friends with her husband and a bunch of stupid shit that I don't really remember because it was really fucking stupid.
Dropped the ball so hard it fell through the Earth and came back out in China halfway in the film.

The closest thing you're going get with a Hawkman liveaction film.

If the second part never occurred, how should the movie have continued from it's opening point and what would've been a good ending?

I think you should go ask because this isn't Sup Forums related at all.

I liked it. Dont really get the angels part but I gues that was okay, I like a little mystery

haven't read it

I didn't like it, honestly.

First half 10/10
Second half yawn/10

I think it's not Sup Forums

Can the Yo-Kai watch anime be honorary Sup Forums too? The rules aren't clear about saturday morning animes. It's a cartoon in everything but name.

Hamilton was better.

Is Hancock a cartoon or comic book now?

As anons suggested.
Make him actually do real super-hero stuff.
Maybe ave him sacrifice hi.self at the end for some reason without hesitating to save a life, I dunno.

Fun flick, but absolutely not true to the source material. It is entertaining and a fun take on superheroes and mythology.

I'd love to see a proper version of "Tonight he comes" though. Warts and all.

Still the best Superman movie. Even if the second half is subpar

Two halves. Both have drastically different tones. All of one would have worked, the change made it fall apart. A shame really.

Did you read the script? It was really tryhard.

>John Hancock is a superhero who lives in New York City. Due to his superpowers, Hancock believes that it's his obligation to use them to protect the innocent, even though he hates to have the weight of the world in his shoulders and longs for life as an ordinary man. He spends his nights is seedy motels, having sex with prostitutes and doing drugs.

>One day, Hancock confronts a group of criminals who were robbing a bank, and one of them dies attempting to shoot Hancock. It's there that Hancock meets Mary Longfellow, a bank teller, and becomes attracted to her.

>Mary's husband, Horus, is a security guard at a local store, a pathetic, spineless man often humiliated by everyone in his life aside from Mary and their son, Aaron, who is just as weak as his father and often bullied by his classmates.

>Mary invites Hancock for dinner with the Longfellows to thank him for saving her. Hancock attempts to teach Aaron how to stand up for himself, and teaches him how to smoke. Later, Mary offers to fix the holes in Hancock's uniform, and sexually cuts his hair.

>During a walk in the park, Hancock breaks down and tries to kiss Mary, telling him that he'll gladly give up his superhero life to live with her an Aaron. When Mary rejects him, Hancock tells Aaron that he'll be as much of a loser and his father and storms off, has sex with a prostitute, kills a hoodlum and later kidnaps Mary to force her to become his woman.

>Meanwhile, Horus' store is held up. Drunk and filled with rage over Hancock's advances on Mary, Horus ignores the police's orders and takes down the robbers, growing some backbone and proving he's a real man after all. Upon learning that Hancock has kidnapped Mary, Horus heads to a abandoned warehouse where Hancock has taken Mary.

>Police surrounds the area, and Hancock attacks the cops, slaughtering several of them in a superpowered tamper tantrum. He later returns and attempts to rape Mary, but is confronted by Horus. Hancock beats Horus to an inch of his life before one of Hancock's punches causes the building to crumble, crushing Mary under some debris. Hancock rescues her, but she runs away from him, scared, and embraces Horus. Realizing Mary will never love him, Hancock flies away.

>In the end, Hancock continues protecting the city and sinking into the depression, while Aaron stands up to his bullies and later secretly watches Horus and Mary have sex.

My opinion is that it is not Sup Forums-related. Just because it's about a super powered man, doesn't make it Sup Forums
Reported

Talking about reporting is a reportable offense.

what're you, the fun police?

I liked the prison idea. The PR spin.

Charlize Theron WAS Carol Danvers in this.

>sexually cuts his hair.

I enjoyed it. But I wasn't super hype for it at all. In fact I missed every trailer for it and went randomly with friends, so I had no expectations. Would be happy to see another movie in the series.

Watched it pretty recently. It was very promising but unfortunately it went to shit with that whole angels romance thing.

Why do you type like you're running out of time?

Its the best Superman movie to date.

>kidnaps Mary to force her to become his woman.

At first glance, I read that as

>kidnaps Mary to force her to become a woman.

I wish it stayed that way instead of veering off into this weird pseudo love story that they went with the second half of the movie. Otherwise, pretty interesting watch. Definitely a rent/torrent rather than a buy, though.

>sexually cuts his hair

What does that even mean?!?

No, but I kinda wish we could have gotten an animated series on [as] or Netflix.

No, Hancock kills Mary on accident by destroying the building with his punches. Hancock tried to kill himself and flies off. The last to second page of the script is missing. The last page is of Aaron walking in on his parents having sex, while a narrator talks about seeing Him (Horus) in the darkness, sand everything starting over again.

>sexually cuts hit hair
A sensual masterpiece of writing.

Resolve his inability to fit in with normal people. Make his dickishness towards people the conflict.

>haircut got sexyual!
>Hold scissors with use pusspuss!

She gets wet while doing it.

With scene directions for a close-up on her nipples visibly becoming hard through her blouse.

This is my exact, and the only correct, opinion on the movie.

Pretty much this.

I enjoyed the first half, from how Hancock was treated like the village idiot by hyper critical LA residents, to how he was uncomfortable and awkward trying to appear as a respectable superhero in the middle.

As soon as that chick had powers I just turned the movie off. I couldn't take anymore.

Good idea, poor execution. Extremely forgettable movie.

It's not Sup Forums related

It's good if you turn it off immediately after the scene where Hancock is reformed and helps the police officers.

I think if they wanted to make cuckold porn so bad they should just have bit the bullet and done it.

>and later secretly watches Horus and Mary have sex.
Every fucking time.

>while Aaron stands up to his bullies and later secretly watches Horus and Mary have sex.

>watches Horus and Mary have sex.

Why?

Because now Horus is a REAL MAN, who FUCKS HIS WIFE.

Then how did they make Aaron

>her nipples visibly becoming hard through her blouse.

First 40 minutes is great. Movie goes to shit once he gets out of jail.

Tenderly, LIKE A PUSSY.

nailed it.
that whole ancient pairing storyline was dumb as hell.

Garbage. Not hyperbolizing.

All I remember about this is that it was nothing like it was advertised. I thought him learning to be a hero and get accepted would be the whole plot, but that wasn't even half the movie. Most of it was his weird shit with that other superhuman.

It would have been good if it'd been consistent with that first plot but it was utter shit in its second half.
