It addresses one of the biggest issues holding blacks back, which is the culture itself.
They blame BET for celebrating everything wrong with black culture. Unfortunately, it also reinforces the "Uncle Tom" idea with Ruckus and that black dad who acts white by making him look like an idiot race traitor. People honestly believe that "acting white" is a betrayal to black culture, so the show wasn't much more virtuous than BET anyway.

It's a funny show, but they try to slip the propaganda in when youre not paying attention. The first episode, "Grandpa, I'm trying to take down the white supremacist power structure!" Also, implying white people can't handle the truth about 9/11, or whatever else. I wouldn't tell people to watch it, but funny nonetheless

I always saw uncle ruckus as being against the whole uncle tom thing. He's so over the top and ridiculous it's like McGruder is saying "This is what an uncle Tom would actually be like if they existed". It's no coincidence that the family man lawyer in the show is called Tom, because his character is what people would usually call an uncle Tom, when he's basically just functional member of society.
