Narrator: There's only two kinds of people in the world

>Narrator: There's only two kinds of people in the world.
>There's women, and there's men.

jesus christ, it sure was a different time back then

how many different kinds are these now theres at least 500? genders are outta control

this films is only 8 years old, but it has aged terribly

or maybe i've aged... damn...

I don't know what you mean. It's just as relevant, if not more so, than today as it was when I watched it with my first gf in HS. Holy fuck I was in HS 8 years ago? yeesh

no its not you user, its aged horribly.

and the times have aged even more horribly.

how has it aged horribly? specifically? I've been meaning to rewatch this flick as it is one of my all time favorites

its been a while since ive seen it personally, and its hard to even describe what aspects of it has aged horribly.

but its the kitschy borderline 2010s vibes of pseudo-pleasantries and sowing seeds of hipster culture, this movie was and still is incredibly tumblr-core. It really appeals to women and bloggers on superficial levels of black and white gifs with quotes on them. Its got some good emotion to it but thats only on the male side, as a whole it just feels very fake.

id say rewatch it again, when you see it you'll notice its a product of the times at that period. If a movie came out that was like this it'd be 200% more post-modern bullshit cynicism drenched in agenda feminist stuff. Like a decent movie to a horrible one.

>Its got some good emotion to it but thats only on the male side, as a whole it just feels very fake.
that's just it this is one of those essential "movies women can't/won't understand" the emotions and feels are meant for dudes not girls. Girls always watch the movie and think that Tom had crazy expectations when it is obvious if you marathon the movie all the way through that Summer was a slut (the term roastie hadn't become popularized yet) and that she was leading him on the whole movie all the while tonedeaf to her roastie privileges

thats pretty much why it has staying power, because it got one thing right, it was showing the shit Tom had to deal with and how women act like Summer, as you said tonedeaf and a roastie.

Oddly enough the depressive real stuff with Tom was the parts I enjoyed most because it was real, everything else was just coated with this vaseline like fakeness to it that would reel the women it because its aloof with glossiness and quirky feminine vibes because dumb sluts enjoy that shit

I get that it had the feeling of "Juno" or a lot of other early tumblresque kind of stuff but from what I remember about the movie they were pretty good about wrapping into the story to make it feel more "real" from my point of view at least.
I am sure that they never explicitly stated what city he was in but you got the feeling like it could be LA but I remember a bridge and bay now so that could be more like san francisco. the music was pretty hipster but enjoyable for me. I don't know I guess it just brings me back to a happier time in my own life despite being the movie about the ultimate roastie trap

yes and no matter what, men love to provide harmless fun for women, so who is the weaker sex?

>everything else was just coated with this vaseline like fakeness to it
because we're seeing Tom's vision of it

is that kristen wiig? gross she's like 50. and what are with those weird tattoos?

its just you. you used to be a young naive man who believed in love. you since have gotten your heart broken several times and know that that is a farce. you understand now that tom is the asshole is the film, that she told him upfront she doesnt want a relationship, and how he ignored all of the very clear tell tale signs that they just werent working out.

Tom is the wrong one in the film.

>knocks on your door in the middle of the night
>spoons while listening to the rain
SHOWER SEX?!

friends my balls.. Summer was the worst

because he kept pushing. its not that she didnt also have feelings for him, you cat just look at it as black and white. She told him up front she doesnt want a relationship and that she wasnt in the right spot for it. maybe you havent been in that spot where you ad someone do love eachother, but its just not working out. regardless of what happened between them, she let him know upfront. NO.

Cat he just be there as a fried for her? frieds spoon. friends knock on eachothers door on the middle of the night. some friends even have shower sex.

or is tv also r9k

friends also have shower sex? I have had a few friends in my life and only one "summer" but the shower sex was exclusively saved for her
spooning in the dead of night while it is raining is even more intimate than shower sex for christ's sake. I know that she told him up front it wasn't about a relationship but the way she clearly used him and led him on is what gets me every time. sure maybe Tom had eyes bigger than his stomach or whatever but he did everything he was supposed to do and he got fucking shit on in the end. A+ movie for telling it like it is

Those were the good old days

I heard it's a depressing as fuck movie.
Any reason at all to watch it?

>depressing as fuck
If you're a teenage girl.
>Any reason at all to watch it?
If you're an estrogen-ridden nu-male/cuckold you might like it.

Probably the movie I am most embarrassed about liking when I was younger. I legitimately was under the delusion that it was one of the great modern rom coms.

it's one of it not my favorite post-2000 movies. take that for whatever you want

I'll take it to mean you have bad taste and are a useless vapid broad who should be posting on instagram instead of inserting your lackluster taste in flicks on Sup Forums.

>numalepilled
500 days of summer
eternal sunshine

>brownpilled
before sunrise
never let me go

at least we all can agree to this

Never Let Me Go and 500 Days both suck

Eternal Sunshine and Before Sunrise are both great (though Sunset is superior)

okay bro just make sure to check that edge first

>Eternal Sunshine [...] great

this is how i can tell ure opinion is shit

>she told him upfront she doesnt want a relationship
that doesn't vindicate her. she's still in the wrong. yeah he was naive and foolish to trust her with his feelings but she basically demanded that of him without returning loyalty and respect that is normally given in a relationship

>>brownpilled

What does this even mean?

>never let me go
what pill is this supposed to be? how does the plot of this movie corrolate to real relationships?

it's about a woman who lets her man fuck stacy until she's alone and old and dying and it's too late for love without the strings of pain attached.

i don't see this being "revealing" about how shitty any sex/relationship type is. It's actually love affirming. So is before sunrise. Is that what you're saying?

what does bronnen mean?

Man i used to be such a fag

>used to be

No idea

>tattoos
I fucking hate this century

how were the 1400s compared to the 21st century, immortal vampire guy?

>never let me go
>good
HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
