X-Men Apocalypse thread No more superpowers Edition
So now that the dust has settled, what will happen now that X-Men Apocalypse has been panned by everyone? I mean, it has a lower rotten tomatoes score than X-Men The Last Stand, Man of Steel, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But Deadpool was a huge success!
What should Fox do with the X-Men franchise?
Should Fox get someone new to take over the franchise? Like Tim Miller or Vince Vaughn? Or maybe bring Michael Bay?
Should they just reboot the franchise and start over?
Should they have Deadpool lead the X-Mm instead of Hugh Jackman and JLaw?
Should they make a deal with Marvel and have them appear in the MCU like Sony did?
Henry Howard
It didn't even stay first on it's second week at the box office. That's just sad
Hudson Gonzalez
>Should they just reboot the franchise and start over?
Please no. I'd like to get out of all the characters being perpetually stuck in their origin/most famous stories.
Zachary Ross
Keep pushing forward with Deadpool 2, New Mutants, Wolverine 3, and Gambit.
Jonathan Green
what shill keeps repeating this thread?
Camden Peterson
I don't understand. Does anyone else agree with me that this movie was great?
It had its faults, same as BVS, but a 48% seems totally unjustified. What is going on with RT reviewers?
Michael Cruz
Basically everywhere but united states this movie was a success. Go figure
Parker Moore
Its not from Disney.
Henry Stewart
Fox should just give the rights back to Marvel. That way we can have the X-Men back home where they belong.
Just imagine it.
Wolverine teaming up with Captain America during WW2.
Peter Parker dating Kitty Pryde.
Beast on the Avengers.
Spider-Man teaming up with Iceman and Firestar.
Rogue fighting Carol.
Wolverine vs the Hulk.
Storm dating Black Panther.
World War Hulk.
Avengers vs X-Men
Mason Roberts
I know it's a copypasta, but still, kill yourself slowly
Lincoln Cooper
Yeah, that's why all the critics loved Alice in Wonderland. *slaps face*
There is no conspiracy, Foxshill. Singer and Fox just dropped the ball and made a shitty X-Men movie. This ain't the early 00s late 90s anymore, Fox. You have to put effort into cape films. That's why everyone loves Marvel Studios and Deadpool.
Joseph Green
we will get x force style movies with characters like deadpool, domino and cable.
Logan Scott
But the movie was good. It was everything I ever wanted from the X-Men. Why hating the X-Men now, when they finally delivered?
Dominic Anderson
The way I see it, 10 years from now, marvel flicks will be considered a cringe garbage, while X-Men will have cult following
Daniel Morgan
>*slaps face*
Literally leave and literally never come back you fucking faggot
Josiah Jenkins
>But the movie was good It wasn't. It was terrible. The cgi was terrible. The villain was terrible. Magneto, JLaw, and Prof took up 90% of the movie. Fassbender's darth vader overacting. JLaw's bored acting. The fight scenes were terrible. Characters like Psylocke, Storm, and Angel were pointless and got less development than Magneto's dead family. Man of Steel destruction porn. Prof X letting Magneto go after killing more people than the holocaust and joker.
It was shit. Fox should give the rights back.
Alexander Hill
Why do you hate fun?
Kevin Jones
jesus christ, are Marveldrones really that retarded?
holy shit, I feel like I'm reading Facebook comments
Jacob Ross
I watched the movie yesterday. I don't get the hate.
Jordan Diaz
>It wasn't. stopped reading there
David Jones
It's a meme. If you like the X-Men movies, you like this movie. It's in the top half of these movies quality wise.
Josiah Anderson
this
only complaint I had was the use of CGI. it was far too much although it could have been the terrible 3D that ruined the overall picture. Still, I hope they use more practical effects next time around
Mason Long
They needed to make their villain less lame.
I mean, Civil War had one of the best villains of the decade. He gave a great performance and had well written plans and motivations.
Apocalypse looked terrible (he should have been CGI and not terrible make up). Singer didnt do a good job at establishing his motivations and powers. And worst of all, Apocalypse took a backseat to Magneto. It becomes THE MAGNETO MOVIE....AGAIN....
Juan Moore
At least Apoc was practical
Angel Butler
>civil war had a great villain
Honestly I hated captain America as the bad guy, ITS HIS MOVIE!! Why make him the villain ???
Adam Cooper
>Peter Parker dating Kitty Pryde. >Avengers vs X-Men Bendis pls go
Gavin Martin
Captain America Civil Wat was fun.
X-Men Apcalypse was like a child-molester sneaking into a kids bedroom and raping him. Fitting since the director is a pedophile.
Logan Morris
>I mean, Civil War had one of the best villains of the decade. He gave a great performance and had well written plans and motivations. I find it almost impossibly hard to believe that this isn't bait.
Ryder Morris
>Baron Emo >great yay, another meme in this memetic thread
Owen Cooper
>Civil Wat the most accurate typo ever
Hunter Wilson
only problem I had with the movie is that Apocalypse wasn't threatening enough in the final fight. all he did was choke Raven, brake an arm, and put Cyclops in a wall.
Gavin Davis
>Civil War had one of the best villains of the decade.
I liked him too but get real
James Edwards
>What should Fox do with the X-Men franchise?
Sell it back to Marvel while it's still worth something, like they should have done when Fantastic Four had run its course instead of running it into the ground with a disastrous reboot.
>no more HJac >no more JLaw >old cast killed off completely >pretty much done with Fassbender
The only reason they've still got the FF rights is that they know they won't get even enough to cover the losses the last movie made and they're hanging on in case, at some future point, they become magically valuable again or someone has a really solid plan for using them that will make money lol. A sequel is out of the question, and a reboot is just as bad of an idea right now.
So picture the scene: 2018, a new Wolverine casting is announced. The Gambit fan keeps asking where the Gambit movie is; Deadpool 2 has suffered the same fate as Batman Returns, double the cost, half the gross of the original; FOX desperately need Wolverine to work because it's the only proven part of the franchise that doesn't involve a hugely expensive ensemble cast to deliver a solid, if unspectacular, gross every time.
It's Shia LaBeouf. Rupert Murdoch dies of shame, despite all evidence being that shame only made him stronger all these years; his empire flies apart at the seams before he's even cold as his children, hangers-on, and creditors fight for their share. FOX is sold off in chunks to Disney, Warner Bros., and other major studios who want to consolidate their rightsholdings, and the networks are left without any major content producer.
All because of Shia fucking LaBeouf.
Cameron Ortiz
Why do you hate the X-Men so much?
Justin King
>Should Fox get someone new to take over the franchise? yes they need more people who actually give a shit about the X-Men. Tim Miller's Deadpool was great because he actually cares about the character Deadpool.
Singer doesn't care about X-Men or Comic Books. He even told his actors no to read the 'icky' comic books and that he knows more about storytelling than Morrison, Claremont, and Whedon. He's ashamed of making these movies. He's just in It for the Twinks.
Christopher Sanchez
Yeah. I liked it. There were a few things missing here and there but I think most of that will end up on the DVD.
That might be a problem itself though. I wonder if filmmakers now think they can leave characterization out because they can add it back in later.
Brody Turner
I say let the forming of the team be the end of the X-Men movies.
Start over with other X-titles, like New Mutants or X-Force
Chase Rodriguez
Huge Jacked Man and Deadpool in a buddy flick. Would literally print money.
John Powell
Hugh is like 50-years-old, Fox.
You can't rely on him forever.
Hell, Wolveine Origins is still the worst rated X Movie on Rotten Tomatoes (second one is Apocalypse). So Hugh does not always equal easy praise.
How about you learn from Marvel Studios or Deadpool and try making good fun movies instead.
Jacob Johnson
>You can't rely on him forever. That's rich coming from a marveldrone
Ryder Reed
>5 cents has been deposited into your account
Sebastian Kelly
Jackman quit. He's 47. You can't keep up the kind of physical level he's at indefinitely.
>Shia LaBeouf
Nathaniel Flores
They delivered to you.
I thought it sucked balls
Colton Bennett
Okay. And?
Sebastian Morales
The bad guy was baron zemo, dumbass
Blake Foster
>Fans don't exist
Kevin Jenkins
>literally who
Ayden Torres
Marvel should sell Thor's film rights. They haven't made a good Thor movie. Easily the weakest of the Avengers' franchise.
Just sell the rights to his classic stuff and put in Jane Foster Thor to replace him since her book sells better than Thor did anyway. She's clearly more popular.
Jack Rivera
>They haven't made a good Thor movie Rotten Tomatoes disagrees. In fact, according to RT, Marvel Studios has never had a rotten movie (which means they haven't made a bad movie ever)
Meanwhile, Fox has made Wolverine origins, X-Men the Last Stand, Trank's Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer, Elektra, Daredevil, and now X-Men Apocalypse.
But keep shilling for your shitty company, Fox Employee. ;^)
Thomas Evans
According to you, they don't
Landon Fisher
>being that buttblasted
Jaxon Barnes
Appeal to Authority logical fallacy
Mason Jones
lazy b8
Anthony Green
>BUT I DONT LIKE THE FORCE AWAKENS GUYS! Why do retards think this constitutes and argument?
"Surely if I hate something everyone else much acknowledge it's praise is unfounded. Yes....yes?"
Mason Reed
THIS!
We need an MCU vs Fux version of this!
Gabriel Evans
it only shows that you guys are plebs
Jordan Morgan
The problem is they can't just sit on the FF rights until the stars align and the world is ready for another reboot they have to actively work on the property or lose it. Either Disney will get them back or they will spam out another cheap lazy retread. Neither possibility seems appealing to me
Tyler Russell
It's pretty incredible how much Marvel proper dominates the competition.
Jace Watson
they are the justin bieber of capes
Anthony Kelly
>tfw Deadpool is fox's biggest hit and they didn't even want it...
William Moore
As someone who likes most of the Marvel movies I've got to say they are all very samey.
Daniel Clark
>they didn't even want it...
It's fox what do you expect. They like to keep things cheap.
Hudson Reed
They didnt just not want it, they tried to sabotage it! One Fox suit tried everything in his power to stop Deadpool.
Joshua Rivera
What? It wasn't a bad movie at all. What the hell are you on about?
Cooper Morales
lol civil war, captain america and the avengers movies were fucking awful.
I agree that Apocalypse was one of the lesser x-men movies but even it was better than that shit.
John Taylor
>trusting Rotten Tomatoes Ugh! Like! Ugh! Don't you know that Rotten Tomaroes is literally Adolf Hitler??? This is the same website that have Max Landis's movies (yes THE Max Landis) rotten scores!!! This is of course crazy since Max Landis's movies are the greatest movies of the century!!!(Max Landis says so). Rotten Tomatoes (and criticism) NEEDS to be destroyed!!!! Also all strong female characters are Mary Sues!!!
Elijah Diaz
Rotten Tomatoes disagrees.
Josiah Myers
>It wasn't a bad movie at all It was. Especially compared to a good movie like Captain America Civil War.
Luis Lee
>fox should sell the rights back lol >I know jack shit about how the industry works but hey >Iron man is my favorite super hero, I've seen all his movies
Kayden Collins
...
Bentley Myers
More like most Marvel movies will have aged badly and X-men movies will be forgotten. Most people already forgot the first trilogy before First Class was released.
Jackson Davis
I don't know why you're forcing this "Rotten Tomatoes is the end all be all of opinions" meme, but I'm on to you.
Dylan Hernandez
And as most X-men movies are average when they're not just plain bad...
Blake Ward
>only RT review matters
you are part of the problem in society
Jordan Nguyen
>thinks Rotten Tomatoes reviews movies.
Sometimes I can't tell who's potato and who's pretending, but I'm pretty sure this guy is legit retarded.
Jack Jackson
the other bait was fresher, sorry user
Connor Sanders
not that user but you're a potat too
critics have also heavily panned the shawshank redemption and loads of other movies
granted we can bet this isn't going down as the pulp fiction of superhero movies, it's probably not going considered as "awful" and "panned" except by nerdy superhero marvel-cuck fags
Isaiah Ortiz
>trusting user ratings as anything but indicating but complete disaster and fad popularity Oh user...
Owen Carter
River of truth, you move, etc
Colton Brown
Yeah, Iron Man was a decent bad guy, he was always fit for that anyway.
Daniel Bell
Maybe if Marvel Studios stopped making good movies (and Fox stopped raping their heroes) then people wouldn't be asking for Fox to return the rights to their characters.
Chase Long
>I don't know why you're forcing this "Rotten Tomatoes is the end all be all of opinions" Because RT Critic Score knows when movies are bad and good.
Logan Gomez
X-fags who want Marvel to get back the rights are idiots. If Marvel gets back the X-men suddenly they're competing with the rest of the Marvel Universe and that means less X movies.
Josiah Thomas
>and that means less X movies.
Good.
Ian Lee
>Marveldrone detected
Ethan Richardson
Are seriously saying that Marvel Studios wouldn't make X movies? Are you that autistic or are you getting paid a few extra dimes to suck Fox's dick?
If Marvel Studios had the rights back, there would be plenty of X movies. They would even get their own TV shows. Even Cyclops would get his own movies. Characters like Psylocke and Jubilee would actually get development because Marvel actually loves making money (unlike Fox) and would market the fuck out of every possible X character (unlike Fox who can't stop focusing on the same four mutants). More X characters means more money for them, not less.
Alexander Gomez
I would call you a Fox drone, but we all know there's not such thing.
Oliver Peterson
RT is bullshit. BvS has 27% more than it deserves.
Jace Davis
With everything they have on their plate, there's not enough room for multiple X-Men movies, m8.
Justin Cook
I bet you liked that shitty Warcraft movie too.
I wish you and everyone at 20th Century Fox and WB and Sony would drink bleach and die.
Elijah Collins
Fuck MJ and Gwen Stacy.
I want peter parker dating kitty pryde
Jeremiah Perry
Fox is making one every two years. If they make a Sony-like deal, they would probably keep that rate.
Evan Kelly
Warcraft wasn't even bad
Critics are legit lol vidya this time
Ayden Anderson
>accuse others of no knowing how movies work >continue to prove you know nothing about them Plans change all the time. The Spider-Man movie pushed back BP and Captain Marvel when they got the right. You seriously don't think they would make room for X-Men characters? Do you think Marvel Studios, the biggest most successful cape studio, couldn't pull it off?
Serious question, how autistic are you? Does Fox hire Autistic people now? (Would explain their movie quality) Do your handlers know you're on Sup Forums?
Oliver Price
>Warcraft wasn't even bad PfffffffftBWAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! Okay, dumdum. I bet you also like TMNT: Out of the Shadows and Transformers Age of Extinction. *Raises glass* Cheers, Mate!
Aaron Reyes
Shut the fuck up. I'm so tired of being disrespected on this goddamn website. All I wanted to do was post my opinion. MY OPINION. But no, you little bastards think it's "hilarious" to mock those with good opinions. My opinion. while not absolute, is definitely worth the respect to formulate an ACTUAL FUCKING RESPONSE AND NOT JUST A SHORT MEME OF A REPLY. I've been on this site for 4 years: 4 YEARS and I have never felt this wronged. It boils me up that I could spend so much time thinking and putting effort into things while you shits sit around (probably jerking off to Gardevoir or whatever furbait you like) and make fun of the intellectuals of this world. I've bored you? Good for fucking you. Literally no one cares that your little brain is to underdeveloped and rotted to comprehend my idea...MY GREAT GREAT IDEA. I could sit here all day whining, but I won't. I'm NOT a whiner. I'm a realist and an intellectual. I know when to call it quits and to leave the babybrains to themselves. I'm done with this goddamn site and you goddamn immature children. I have lived my life up until this point having to deal with memesters and idiots like you. I know how you work. I know that you all think you're "epik trolls" but you're not. You think you baited me? NAH. I've never taken any bait. This is my 100% real opinion divorced from anger. I'm calm, I'm serene. I LAUGH when people imply I'm intellectually low enough to take bait. I always choose to reply just to spite you. I won. I've always won. Losing is not in my skillset. So you're probably gonna reply "lol epik trolled" or "u mad bro" but once you've done that you've shown me I've won. I've tricked the trickster and conquered memery. I live everyday growing stronger to fight you plebs and low level trolls who are probably 11 (baby, you gotta be 18 to use Sup Forums). But whatever, I digress. It's just fucking annoying that I'm never taken serious on this site, goddamn.
Christopher Martinez
TMNT and Age of Extinction are true pieces of underrated kino. The true pleb filters that separate men, from pathetic, failed abortions.
Caleb Roberts
Yeah, but they've got 9 years left to think of something. They don't have to waste thinking time on it right now, it's not like the studio doesn't have other things to work on.
