This situation used to pop up on /r9k/ about once a week before the normies took over. Most of them find another relative to live with and give up their video games in exchange.

I already have it all mapped out, I lease the house to a reliable tenant (most likely a family member or friend) then invest part of the life insurance on a "fixer upper" house I can live in for a while before flipping for a $5-10k profit

After that I'll probably just live in the next state over doing the same thing until I get a good little nest egg so I can buy a decent plot of land, then I'll stop renting the house out once the lease expires so I can keep it for when I want to come back home.

As someone who spent 5 years a NEET I feel qualified to answer this. The problem is by the time you realise you've fucked up and wasted it becomes so much harder to actually get a job. I know where I grew up competition for even minimum wage jobs was fairly high, so having a big gap on your CV would mean you had little chance of even getting a shit job.

Without family or friends who can find you a job you therefore become stuck. Then important events pass by that make it harder. In my country one such event for me was my 21st birthday. The minimum wage for workers over 21 is higher than for 16-20 year olds. So now I could not compete at all, I would need to be paid more for probably less experience.

In the end the only way I got out of it was learning to code, which in my area seems to have a ridiculously high demand and so despite my clearly awful resume I was able to land a job. Not everyone will be as lucky as me.

might work in a cohesive society like Japan. Uphill battle in most of Europe. Will never fly in the US. Anyone who isn't a neet/hikki views them as lazy and undeserving. Even European nations normally pretty accepting of government programs and redistribution get their hackles up about giving money to someone who's never had a job, and quite possibly never had one because they'd rather subsist on money from their parents or the government than contribute. Second, the numbers don't add up. To provide every US adult with the equivalent of a minimum-wage income (say $20k a year, which isn't a whole lot) would require over three trillion dollars. You don't even get close to that if you cut the defense budget to zero and eliminate social security and medicare altogether.

Started working 3 weeks ago. Recently I found out that my old boss is trying to contact me, probably trying to get me back to work for him.

Also I got/have the chance to becom a insurance advicer at one of the biggest companies here. They do over 100k a year if later on if it goes well.

The county i live in doesn't have any property tax or such. Got a private water well, electricity comes from solar panels, grow enough food on fields and trees and have firewood from my forest.

Sometimes I don't think they do. One of my friends got into tech by lying on his CV, got experience at the first job he landed, then just kept trading up. Within 3 years he landed a 120$ a year job at Amazon. Of course by that point he was actually really competent.

But if it's to open a door to a job you know you can do, there's no reason not to lie on your CV.
