How can socialists even compete?

How can socialists even compete?

If you are talking about Venezuela, Cuba, the UdSSR or North Korea -- no one is taking their economic models seriously nowadays.

But there are hundreds of different types of market economies, and models far left of the Anglo-American one are worth to take into consideration.

Japan, for example, is a prime example of state-driven, protectionist growth.

By having trees and non-polluted air.

Detroit was made by capitalism.

Japanese economics are a meme. Virtual stagnation for two decades and Abenomics are a disgrace.

I expect the whole circus of helicopter money to begin in Japan. In fact the Bank of Japan has already taunted it, testing the water, resulting in massive amount of Japanese rushing to gold and foreign currencies.

Detroit was destroyed by socialism

If you mean the Detroit of Henry Ford certainly.

The current nigger show is caused by uninterrupted liberal policies for more than half a century.

Die capitalist pig ! Behold our glorious capital. Soon our mighty leader will sacrifice the last of your kin at the top of our pyramid.

>not living in a post-scarcity communist Utopian space globe on the edge of federation territory.

why live senpai.

>post-scarcity
Found the wishful thinking fedora nigger communist redditor.
There will never ever not be scarcity in this world.

It's built by Chinks.

Hello Abdul!

>capitalism
>post-scarcity

It doesn't work that way.

>What is nearly every modern city in china?
They're not really socialists, but still. If you've seen most of their cities, they are pretty fucking advanced.

>implying I am serious and actually advocate the nonsense society that is the Federation.

but that space station was comfy desu

Glittery images are all nice and stuff.
As a matter of fact OP, 30% of people in Singapore are millionaires, which is admirable.
At the same time, SIngapore, Hong Kong and metropolitan South Korea has the highest rate of poverty among seniors in the developed world. There is no retirement there, and inflation eats away most of the savings of the normal wage earners. Grandmothers sweet the streets and sell snacks during the day and suck dicks from slightly wealthier "uncles" at other times. Google "South Korea's shame - senior prostitions" buts its everywhere in the region. The tide didn't lift all boats in Asia (or anywhere else for that matter), its all about trickling the money up to international elites.

Yes, because companies love the fact that people are poor and have no money to give them.

The lack of thought that socialists give to economics is astonishing.

Skyscrapers =/= advanced.
I regularly go to China for business and the cities are absolute cancer. Garbage in and out, pollution, no sense of urbanism, some obvious mistakes in city planning. It's like they have to build so fast to prop their housing bubble that officials always live the greenlight to the first project in every instance. Transportation are a nightmare.

I'm not saying it can't get better, but as of now I wouldn't live in a big Chinese city (HK doesn't count).

...

The state of their actual housing for their citizens doesn't really reflect their abilities. They might not be moral but they're efficent as fuck like most asians. You can see this from their export/import qualtiy.

blame gorbachev

Why do people still pretend that Tokyo is the city of skyscrapers in 2016? Tokyo is insane suburban sprawl 50 km of village buildings in every direction. (this is notorious Tokyo tower BTW)

Protectionism only works in asian or white societies because the people are clever enough to solve their own problems

Try "protecting" the economy of a third world shithole and see what happens

Es verdad.

the funny thing is thats what freedom is about. Here youd get zoning and this and that and never be able to have your confy garage doing repairs like a man should.

anime needs to be real desu senpai
