>A female doctor should not be "hot" and should put off a more grandmotherly/kind teacher feel she cannot be mean or crabby either she must have a pleasant attitude
>I would pick Joanna Lumley if she was a bit younger. But if given a choice, I wouldn't have a female doctor anyway.

First for scringestone.

I think 7 was the least good of the classic doctors

That would be 5

So how do you think the new showrunner will do?

why is cold war such a shit episode

Butters?

Because the resolution was awful, the Ice Warrior was ruined and their sonic blaster didn't make the same beautiful sound

Any particular reason for either of these?

Ok if it HAD to be a wimmin

>least good
>anyone but 6
Nice joke, lads.

HOW HYPE ARE YOU FOR A SORT OF BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY FEEL, THE KIND OF JULES VERNE, EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS STORY OF DERRING-DO KINO?

IS GATISS ACTUALLY GOING TO SAVE THE SERIES?

Why was 6 such a cunt right after regenerating?

>tfw legitimately excited for a gatiss episode

Fivey is a bit of a dick in some of his episodes, which is jarring to me because I thought he was meant to be really nice. It was post-regenerative mania, anyhow.

Doctor Who, I'm UN

I think Jo is my favourite companion, and I think Tegan is actually climbing the ranks as well. Of course the safe answer for 'favourite companion' is Sarah, but that's too obious.

Also, did Three call Sarah; 'Sarah' or 'Sarah-Jane' in Season 11? He keeps saying 'Sarah-Jane' in The Five Doctors, which sounds weird to me. Baker always said 'Sarah', I think.

FIRST ONE TO TALK GETS TO STAY ON MY PLANET

I think you're right

Based Bob Holmes and his supporting characters. Those guys were memorable, and you really felt for Binro

I feel he might play it safe, at least to begin with. Just some nice Doctor Who for a while, no big grand ideas.

Gatiss should be fired

I disagree

reminder

ANTI-PLASTIC

It'll be the next doctor in distress

>experiments on a time lord scale

You don't want a female doctor, you want a show starring the Rani.

>A show starring the Rani
Fund it

Are we investing in resurrection technology too or are we going to go with Siobhan Redmond?

I like Miranda, but she's too quirky and comical to be the doctor. If the Doctor HAD to be a women, they'd have to be older and eccentric imo.

Anjli Mohindra

that hot one from class was actually the rani in disguise

How does this face make you FEEL?

That after the shitshow that was the last 3-parter I'm actually looking forward to his guaranteed 6/10 episode

>guaranteed 6/10
Give him some credit, it's looking like a modest 7/10

I just hope he plays it super safe. He can only write mediocre, if he tries to be ambitious it ends up in disaster.

Pretty good actually, 'cause if you can see him it usually means he's doing a horror documentary, playing Mycroft, or getting interviewed for Special Features on a Classic DVD. It's when he gets behind the scenes you need to worry.

It appears to be pretty safe from everything I can tell, though I admit I've been avoiding details (as I do with every episode because I try to go in as blind as possible)

Funnily enough here in australia it's a long weekend, which to my understanding is our bank holiday equivalent
so we'll be seeing the bank holiday monday-feel episode on a bank holiday sunday

A sort of Bank Holiday Monday feel, the kind of Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs story of derring-do, which I’ve always loved

But is it a thrill a minute?

Hey /who/, just visiting here.
I've never seen any Dr. Who, but these threads always seem so comfy and nice.
Care if I hang out here for a bit?

It'll be a hoot and a half

Come on in lad

Have you ever had that Doctor kind of feeling that you're going to die?

I'm certain that my death will be at my own hand, so not really.

Oh great that means I will have fuck all to do at work here in NZ on Monday because we get most of our lenses sent from Sydney. Cheers!

You don't have a public holiday too? It's the queen's birthday long weekend

You mean have I ever felt like my song was ending

How much do we know about Eaters of Light?

It's about lost Roman legion or some shit.

Whos ready for mind blowing cameos tonight.

sounds SHEEP

>mark gatiss episode
>rated anything above a 4/10

It's probably filler.

This episode looks like it will be genuinely fun camp - passably mediocre, aka better than the monk trilogy which was offensively idiotic

What's the best Gatiss episode?

strawpoll.me/13152729

hey NZ bro, where you at? Reluctantly moved to Auckland from Welly, hating life

VINADLOO
VINDALOO
VINDALOO
VINDALOO
NAH NAH

Either robot or crimson
Robot gets a lot of shit but it's actually got quality banter

Is GI the worst antagonist of new who? I mean, in series 7.

Complete waste of Richard E Grant

HUNNNGRYYYYYYY

Is this death?

So this is what you should do: let /who/ die. Just let this old thread gather dust. No one can open it, no one will even notice it. Let it become a strange little thing lurking on an archive. And over the hours, the world will move on, and the thread will be buried. And if you wanna remember me, then you can do one thing. That's all, one thing. Have a good life. Do that for me, user. Have a fantastic life.

Why is everything so fucking abandoned here on the day of new episode?

Not only is it an almost criminal misuse of a superb talent, it's a nonsensical pile of shit. So content is Moffat to end on the shock of John Hurt that he forgets to actually defeat the Great Intelligence in a convincing fashion.

agree t b h

>So content is Moffat to end on the shock of John Hurt that he forgets to actually defeat the Great Intelligence in a convincing fashion.
Or to have an actual plot in the first place.

Best music.
Best characters.
Most consistent quality.
BEST antagonist.
Best series.

Also Martha a cute.

I AM ZAGREUS
I AM HE WHO SITS INSIDE YOUR HEAD
HE WHO... HE WHO... DOES SOMETHING ELSE AND THEN... EATS... BREAD.

INTEGRATE WITH IT'S MATRICES

NEW MULTI DOC EPISODE

DOCTORED

HAPPY

Doctor Who? More like Doctor Poo.

twitter.com/bbcdoctorwho/status/873502510731808768

IT ACTUALLY LOOKS....GOOD?!

Can't really argue much there. Even the weaker episodes are still pretty good and fun. Martha isn't the best companion but she has some damn solid episodes to her name.

I bet you like Hell Bent.

Gatiss is finishing his tenure writing for doctor who by giving us an actual good episode. A thrill a minute, bank holiday monday feel story - the kind of jules verne, edger rice burroughs story of derring-do that I've always liked

That's it. That is the gosh darn straw that broke the frankly patient camel's back. You choose to come in here, a place where we have poured hours of our lives into watching, analysing, and theorising about one of the, if not THE greatest science fiction fantasy drama world history has ever known. Were it not for the relatively small size of our island nation and its population, Doctor Who would be a world phenomenon that would astound the viewing masses with its intelligence and brilliance. I don't exaggerate when I say it's probable that, were the show to be aired in China it would bring the nation to its knees. And yet, in spite of all that, you choose to come in here, in the midst of our dialogue, and spout your HATEFUL, INCORRECT AND SLANDEROUS WORDS LIKE IT'S NO BIG DEAL! Well guess what mist: it IS a big deal. Bigger than you'll ever know. I can't begin to describe how furious I am at your comments; I was prepared to let them slide the first few times, but this has gone on far too long. You're going to know punishment like you've never known before. I know who you are buddy; my uncle is a high-ranking moderator on this site, and my dad has connections with the police. We're coming for you, and it ain't gonna be pretty. I'll set upon you with instruments you'll wish you'd never see again. Know what a sonic screwdriver is? You'll wish you didn't by the time I'm finished with you. You just sealed your own grave; the only thing you can do for yourself now is run. Run, and pray to whatever Gods are out there that I'll extend some mercy upon you. This is it kid. The worst ordeal of your life, and it begins now.

is it true that Alpha Centauri appears in this ep?

no.

>9. There is an appearance of a recurring character from classic-era Doctor Who. Speculate away!

was just about to link that myself
there are entire episode transcripts on it, it seems
but it's some kind of weird thing where they tried to be clever so it's impossible to link directly to them unless I went to the effort of inspecting the source, and fuck that

>tfw the final episode of Doctor Who will solve every problem that has ever happened with Moffat's run of the show and will go down in history as one of the greatest moments in television

Hi, /who/, I've been watching DW chronologically from Unearthly onwards (I watch new eps as they come out tho) and holy shit my marathon is timing up perfectly

Next Saturday I'll be arriving at Survival, the same day The Eaters of Light airs.

Was it meant to be?

That's pretty beautiful, user. I timed up my chronological watchthrough so that I watched Survival on the 50th Anniversary.

Tom Marhall at it again on GB

>Chibnall-era stuff from my source:

it looks rather likely the TARDIS exterior [at the very least] is going back to how it looked in the much-yearned-for ''Classic'' days. In mid March...there was a rather detailed costing done for designs based on the original Hartnell box, the late Pertwee/early Baker box and the late Baker/early Davison one. It shows an intent on going back, though whether it will finally come to pass [we shall see]. The cost, time and man-hours of producing multiple flats to create a few of the shells, and the CG rendering (not as expensive as I thought, but still a cost which has to be considered) as well as licensee feedback will all have been taken into account, though as Chris really wants merchandising to be seen as something of a priority again (as do BBCAmerica and BBCWorldwide) it very well could be something which will happen. The TARDISes currently in use will likely have to be replaced anyway, so maybe for a (modest) additional cost it will be seen as 'worth it', especially as they've been clever at working out ways to amortise costs over the next 2 production cycles. That little bit of info is something I could see old-school fans going ape for, and the more new-school ones shrugging their shoulders or even asking ''why have they done THAT to the TARDIS?'' Apparently Chris knows he has a lot of work to get the more 'absolutist' New-Who Haters on his side, but from everything I hear, he's more than equal to the task.

You are two autistics and that's why I love you both and this general.

So that means we are getting classic-styled TARDIS, right?

AMERICAN CARNAGE STAWPS RIGHT NOW

Genuine spoiler: it's happening, but not for next series. I can't say anymore.

what would make it look like more of a classic era tardis? Different proportions rather than just the paintjob?

It's for Christmas.
