Jesus christ someone gives this kid a hug

>Sorry kid, too busy being a shithead and blaming a guy who can see into the future for the death of my bff
Jesus tony you're fucking up from all fronts.

Where is the white hair?

The colorist for this issue is all over the place. Half the character's costumes are the wrong colors in the party scene.

Fuck this is making me feel bad for the kid.

Being Sam is suffering.

Jesus Christ, that was a depressing read.

Really enjoyed the fact that this doesn't feel like a Civil War tie in. Like this could have happened in Nova with no connection to anything else in Marvel and it would still work.

bump

/manchild here who doesn't know who this Nova kid is. Tell me about him. I'm interested.

He's Jeph Loeb's dead son.
He exists just so Richard can't come back

Does the Nova helmet not have room for a watch?

Nova Corps were basically Marvel's equivalent of the Green Lanterns. During Annihilation they got completely BTFO and pretty much all of them are dead at this point.

Sam Alexander's dad was a former Nova that had retired years before the BTFOing. He ended up getting kidnapped by some aliens he had gotten on the wrong side of back in his Nova days, which lead to Sam picking up his old Nova helmet to become the new Nova (the helmet is the source of their powers, like green lantern rings). He's been trying to track down his dad in space while superheroing on Earth, but the trails gone cold. He joined the Avengers in the meantime.

He's a dumb but well-meaning kid. Prone to fucking up because he doesn't think things through before acting.

She Hulk fans on suicide watch

She-hulk is fine. She's just in a coma and will be back to normal by the end of the event.

It's Bruce Banner and Rhodey that are 100% dead.

Thank you.

youtu.be/AzGePmv0GD8?t=49

Didn't they also meet in Pleasant Hill?

I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for more

how is this run so far?
this issue seemed decent.

I read Loeb's and Zeb Well's issues from the previous run but dropped it when Duggan took over. Is it worth looking into again?

>Bruce Banner dead

what? Danvers just came into his office?

Looks like Kamala is still enjoying Vision's retro goggles. And company.

Duggan's run was good and this one started off meh, but has been picking up.

He's also not the Hulk right now, making Carol's visit probably more of a consultation.
Unless she goes full Tony and just crucifies people because there is nothing sensible to do.

yea but Banner has been missing.
so how was she in his office?

It's all but confirmed that Hawkeye is going to kill him prematurely.

Missing? He wasn't around in the comics. But I don't think he was actually gone missing.
He simply isn't very relevant without big and green.

>WHOR!

poor kid

damn, why does cap look so angry

Hail HYDRA

i'd be mad too if i had to skip a party to go back to work

What exactly happened to Logan? Why did that woman steal his outfit?

He lost his healing factor then got doused in liquid adamantium. Someday he'll erupt from his adamantium cocoon, but until then we've got Girl Wolverine and Old Wolverine to keep us company.

Fun Fact: The original flags planted during the Apollo Program have been bleached white by UV rays. So in a way the USA by not returning to the Moon has surrendered to space.

...

>He lost his healing factor then got doused in liquid adamantium
That doesn't make sense, but then again this is capeshit.

And this is why no one likes Jean Grey.

those last panels are just like my hentai

What doesn't make sense about it? He was infected with an alien nano-virus that caused his healing factor to short-circuit. One year later, he was covered head to toe in adamantium, and presumably suffocated.

Although he would have still died in that scenario even if he still had his healing factor since he still needs to breath. Same reason drowning him would still kill him.

>the helmet is the source of their powers, like green lantern rings
Actually the arc that will kick off from CWII will explore the source of Sam's Nova power, it looks like the helmet might be getting it from somewhere else and the writer hinted at him even getting his own worldmind

He also hinted that he was going to explore the history of the Nova corps and have Rich involved in the story somehow, which kind of worries me that he will end up having Rich become his Worldmind or at least have Worldmind take his persona like it did with Ko-Rel

Where is everyone getting this? Source?

If I remember correctly, There was a cover done in the style of a wresteling match for Hawkeye vs Hulk. On a separate cover there was a black cover with a blood splatter, and in the spoater you could see the radiation symbol hidden

Being a Nova period is suffering. Totally fucks up your life and your family's. Most of your buddies and comrades get killed off every other week, and if you're lucky you might live long enough to die in the name of another, more important character. What a shitty legacy.

Unrealistic. This flag should be all white by now.

>One year later, he was covered head to toe in adamantium, and presumably suffocated.
What does that have to do with his healing factor?

Americans don't like the idea of their greatest claim to glory now being a symbol of surrender.

She's right though, I always forget that nova was just kinda there for AvX

Huh, Satana is at this party.

>We need you in the kitchen
It's not the 1940s anymore, Cap, God-dammit.

It must SUCK to be a new Hero without connetions. Miles is the new Spiderman, and everyone fears/respects the original Spiderman, who's been in the game since the game began, so he's got an in. Kamala is an inhuman, and is an attractive girl .

Nova's a 14 year old kid.
Besides the power, there's just not much there for the other heroes to latch on to.

Also the Skottie Young variant cover has Hulk with an arrow on his head. Another cover has Hawkeye about to shoot some white guy. We also had it confirmed before CW even started in interviews that the escalating event would be someone from Carol's side killing a hero prematurely. Hawkeye is on Carol's side.

Also, the solicits say that a hero would die in the issue and cause Cho to go full on murder-hulk as a result and Cho considers Banner to be the greatest hero of all.

Nova was partially responsible for causing AvX.

So, where does this put the search for Nova's father regarding CWII?
If it happens before, we now know the avengers are returning with jack shit, and if it happens after we know at least Tony leaves the event with no major changes(which is probably what's happening).

What I'm missing?

He had a thing with the New Warriors but unfortunately that's been forgotten.

has a non x men character ever had a growth spurt in Marvel?

God, Nova is such a fucking loser.

...I'm starting to like him.

Said it in another thread before and i'll say it again. This was like the one time Jean wouldn't have been a psychotic bitch abusing her powers if she used them. You had to be there moments do not exist when you have psychic powers.

>O5 Jean Grey
>Having the capacity to do good

I feel the same way. at first I thought this kid was some punk who got lucky with superpowers and a creator with dead son issues, but now I'm honesty starting to like him.

More like the whole event is just a projected vision and never really happened.

Just like Age of Ultron.

>You'll like it whippersnapper! It's guaranteed to be a real hootenanny!

I wish anything would happen in this series.

The closest this book has been to progress was when they undid any progress from the previous volume, and now we're stuck in an internal hell of event crossovers.

>If it happens before, we now know the avengers are returning with jack shit
Theyre not going to resolve the ongoing's main plot point in a completely different ongoing. Of course they're going to come back empty-handed.

so... that means most of the Ultimate stuff happened? How did that work?
Did Gwen still kissed Ganke?

Jean was out of the kitchen, duh.

> At a party
> In costume

Do people go to parties in their work costumes?

It's a superhero party. Superheroes go to them in their costumes. It's just kind of a thing they do.

Plus unstable molecules are probably really comfy.

All the ultimate universe stuff happened. Then the ultimate universe was destroyed and Molecule Man folded Miles and his supporting cast into 616, but that was after the fact. Only Miles knows how shit really went down while all of his friends and family think they're 616 natives.

So Jean would remember going to the ultimate universe and meeting him, and Miles would remember meeting her when they went to the ultimate universe. But Ganke wouldn't since he doesn't have any memories of the ultimate universe.

Nothing, really, except that the loss of the healing factor kicked off the "Death of Wolverine" storyline that ended with the adamantium dip.

He got it stopping some evil scientist from recreating the Weapon X program and injecting adamantium into the bones of a bunch of normies.

Which is a shame, cause Kaine would totally buy him beers if he asked.

Power Pack except Jack and Katie, and most of the Young Avengers sans Cassie.
Also Amadeus while we're at it.

He could probably handle more than Kaine, Kaine is a lightweight.

Rocket Bump

Nova love bump

He deserves a little happiness
