I've been watching Robot Jones lately, and to be a buzzword using faggot, it's actually way more mean-spirited than people seem to remember.
People remember Ed Edd n' Eddy for the characters being unnecessarily cruel to each other, but at least that usually only happened when someone deserved it to a degree, and even then it was usually balanced out by the over-the-top slapstick and the characters acting within their own grotesque mannerisms. Robot Jones is literally this little robot child being constantly shat on for no real reason while he just takes it out of his own naivety. The other characters don't have any depth to them besides presenting some form of challenge for Robot, who, like half of the time doesn't even get any sort of happy ending.
The notebook-doodle artstyle is kind of pleasing in a retro way, but damn the episodes aren't always the most enjoyable viewing.
