Watched it last night. It's a decent thriller. But I found out about the twist prior to watching, so that may have warped my perception.

This movie is simply a SJW circlejerk.

All politics aside its not even a good horror movie.

Hey I watched it last night as well. Also same exact problem, I got it spoiled.
I liked it but I read a bunch of reviews before watching it because I was bored and I must say that they all severely over rate the movie, especially the Rolling Stone review.
The guy that plays Chris does an excellent job and I think it's the best movie about race that I've seen.

I actually thought the racist undertones in the house and the main character's mounting paranoia while surrounded by all white people was a good way of building tension and unease

Its pretty fun

It was a really funny good movie and gave off a really vibe. Racist rednecks are not scary, they are upfront about their beliefs. I voted for Obama for cool points liberals are much much creepier.

I mean there are a few things that could qualify as a twist. The trailers and like the first half hour of the movie make it really obvious the white family has something weird going on with black people and hypnosis, so I wouldn't say it's a twist that the brother/parents are evil. The main character's girlfriend turns out to be in on it too, but that can't be too surprising. The exact nature of what the family's doing is kind of a twist, they're not hypnotizing black people to be slaves exactly, but auctioning them off to transplant old white people's brains into their bodies because there's this whole cult of old white people who believe blacks are genetically superior.

Yes, the movie is full of subtle details that make the experience richer and some scenes are really creepy (like the black woman crying). It's not that scary, but the ideas presented are awesome.

I really think it's one of the most original horror films to come out in a while. I also liked that it wasn't your standard social commentary; the organization didn't choose black people because they hated them or thought they were inferior, but held them on a pedastool.

Watched it a few days ago. Acting was great and it did a good job of setting a disconcerting atmosphere. It's weird, a lot of the things I read about it made it seem like a comedy but it wasn't at all. Sure there were funny moments but definitely a mostly serious movie.

Fun movie, certainly a nice change change to the norm. Lots of people bring race into it, and I think that's designed into the movie, but at the end of the film, there's no racism in the movie. It's just fucked up people.

I was expecting her to be the only one not in on it, that was the most surprising thing to me. I think it makes sense for her to be part of it but I would have been fine with the other way too.
