why would you want a cross for an atheist country, after all those years your people had to hide their real flag

The cross doesn't represent christianity anymore, but it's becomr more of a nordic thing in flags. Bunch of muslims in Sweden but they still fly the swedish flag even though it has a cross on it.

Just like your star doesn't mean that your country is from space.

That said, Finland aside I feel a bit bad for the other Nordics since they have such generic colors. Everyone has Red, White or Blue. How can you get attached to your national colors when it's something so generic and like half the world use them?

The Danish flag is the oldest of all of them though.

I like the Finnish flag. Blue and white complement each other really well.
