You now realize the early 2000s were the last bastion of film before everything went to shit

>you now realize the early 2000s were the last bastion of film before everything went to shit

>Hello Zepp starts playing

Yeah well the Illuminati canned the Big Shoe so what does it matter?

>has side bitch
>doesn't fuck her

What did he mean by this?

He was trying.

THEY'RE SHOOTING AT US!

>early 2000's
Mid 2000's has still had some kino from PTA, Wes Anderson, Hanake, Noe and Glazer

But yeah, about 2011 was the last best anything

>when threads 15 years from now will be saying the same thing about capeshit today
Bad meme

He says, while posting Phone Booth as a fucking example. How did this board fill up with so many oblivious shitheads?
I mean, how many layers of dumbshit do you have to be under to complain about quality of film and use Phone Booth as an example?
It's unfuckingcanny.

The following things killed the film industry.

>social media
Giving every moron a voice.

>smart phones becoming the norm
Amplifying the presence of social media

>disney acquiring marvel
Do I even need to say?

>disney acquiring lucasfilm
Ditto

As such I'd agree by 2011 things were FUBAR. Pic related was Disney's last gift to us before eveything went to hell.

It's a fun movie!
Don't you remember fun, user?

Phone Booth is fucking kino you pleb. It's a simple film about a shitty guy who gets taught a lesson, but it's engaging as fuck. Which is pretty impressive since virtually the entire film takes place in one location in real time.

>phone booth
peak kino

It's only engaging because of Kiefer's voice and how much of an asshole Ferrell can be.

You're a pleb

Tron Legacy had no business being as good as it was. Between the soundtrack, effects, cinematography and just the general feel of the world it was so good. No forced diversity either which in retrospect is really great.

>muh white male bonding with his dad over motorcycles is problematic

Post early 2000s kino.

...

>if tron legacy had been made in 2017 sam flynn would be kevin's wife's son
>sam would be short for samantha
>she would be a mulatto

Be honest is it just nostalgia or were we the last generation that enjoyed being young? Fucking kids can look up whatever the hell they want and just have instant gratification with a swipe. It's not really bad in some cases but it takes away the sense of wonderment and imagination when you can just ask Siri to pull whatever shit you need.

I feel like I came in at the end of it and the impact was never really felt until now.

I'm not even memeing when I say that the scene in which this theme kicks in is absolute kino.

>duuuuuuuude like in the computer world there's no genders
>race is like totally a fashion accessory in here man
>wow I guess we have a lot to learn from computer people huh
>*looks directly into the camera*

I realize I really like Holly Hunter because if The Incredibles, Thirteen, and peach tea.

>"dude dont fucking touch me you cis genered shit bag"
>"DERESOLUTION FOR THIS ONE"

If there was ever an underrated movie about mental health it's this. I personally think it could go blow for blow with One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

>building he jumps off of at the beginning is trump tower
>rainbow colored parachute

>rented this from video store in 2004
Am I on a list?

It was 06 but this movie is the perfect time capsule if sitting around like a shithead and just fucking around. Murder shit was the worst part and only comes in towards the last 30 minutes.

Whoop forgot picture

>not zhe
Don't you dare assume gender shitlord.

Maybe?

US NATIVES BORN RIGHTWISE

Pretty comfy flick. No forced diversity. Hot girl.

90s were better

>intro scene is Sam going to the tranny hormone clinic on the motorcycle
>it's a Soviet Ural
>big hammer and sickle on the helmet
>entire intro establishes that Sam is confused and insecure about their gender
>gets lasered into the grid
>is an actual woman on the grid
>there's a bunch of scenes of """""""""her""""""""" getting hit on
>as if to try and bamboozle us into thinking the tranny is now attractive now that lighting changed
>*audible audience laughter*

i agree

No one said they weren't.

I fucking miss Blockbuster even though 15-20 bucks to rent movies was a fucking ripoff.

We're having less and less Blockbuster threads and one day there will never be another one. Pottery isn't it?

>15-20 bucks
For an unlimited plan? Individual movies were like $4 or $5. $15 to $20 for any movie you want sounds good to me. Better than paying $15 for HBO and only having a limited selection to choose from.

If you like Holly Hunter, watch Raising Arizona. That's some Grade-A comedy until the ending

Already seen it just forgot she was in it until now.

>I fucking miss Blockbuster
I don't, good riddance. The mom and pop video stores in my town were infinitely better with a wider selection and better prices.

Shop locally as much as you can, try your best to keep your money in your city.

the video shop we had was the only one in town. blockbuster was about 10 min. away. But ol' Video Shop had faces of death and porn and all the b scary movies. Plus Dominos next door.

>last decent disney movie
>spectacularly good even
>last movie i saw in the theatres with a grill
>she actually looked like Quora

daily reminder they threw all this away to make capeshit

The Video Bank in Millsboro, DE. I miss it. Great selection, great times, and also great people who ran the place.

I wonder what ever happened to them.

T_T

Seeing what they've done with capeshit and spaceshit over the last 5 years maybe it's for the best.

I still remember that printer that printed the reciepts. The printer that took that paper with the holes on both sides and you could rip it off when it was done.

Horror movies are the worst offenders, almost everything after 2010 feels the same.

>I WILL BUTTFUCK YOUR FATHER WITH YOUR MOTHER'S HEADLESS CORPSE
what the everliving SHIT did he mean by this?

For GOOD 'N ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Stupid memes aside, I genuinely love the first two Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man films and think they both are among the absolute best comic book films of all time.

I even sort of like the third one.

>i read this in tony's voice
it honestly seems like something he would say.

This is just a remake of Hitchcocks "Rear Window". Watch the original if you liked this.

blockbuster was like my daily social interaction for the longest time. then i moved out of the sticks and got not dialup internet and never stepped into a video store again.

Insomnia
Reign of fire

Catch me if you can
Kiss the Dragon

Abjectively correct

Changing lanes wasn't 2006 dummy.

Reign of fire kino

We had some top tier video stores here in Fargo back in the day. Pic related was an indicator you've stepped foot into a great video store.

Hey, I saw you in the other thread, stop it!
