Regarding the release and reception of the Mummy, I think they fucked up giving it that title. Every one has mistakenly compared it to the Fraser versions, when it's clear it had no relation whatsoever to those films. I enjoyed the movie when I took it out of that context and I could see the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen universe tie-in coming a mile away which has me excited for the next movies.
Looking at Kurtzman's imdb you can see that The Invisible Man and a Van Helsing movie have both been announced and I find this Universe much more interesting than any capeshit one. What does Sup Forums think?
Brandon Rodriguez
It was bad without even comparison.
Camden Martinez
giv mummy gf
Logan Johnson
What did you find bad about it? Maybe im just a sucker for Cruise kino. I don't think I've ever disliked anything he's been in.
Jace Jones
It was a made-by-committee movie that was dumbed down for international audiences. Literally 90% of the movie is voice over exposition and the whole thing borders on visual novel with how much they "tell" instead of "show."
Robert Murphy
Same shit happened with Dredd. It was still somehow associated with the '95 movie. Social media I swear.
Cameron Anderson
You never want to be the position of people saying "It's not as good as the Brendan Frasier movie". That a bad place to be
Levi Diaz
Maybe they're using it as a precursor for the future movies where they'll expand further and show more. Perhaps if they started with The Invisible Man or Van Helsing instead of The Mummy they might have been able to hit the ground running.
Matthew James
The difference being that Dredd was a competently made movie and The Mummy sucked ass in every way possible. There was nothing redeemable about it, even Cruise was bad and miscast.
Brody Gomez
Maybe they should have just focused on making a good movie instead of trying to get in on the capeshit cinematic universe game.
Jaxson Clark
I liked it I really want a creature from the black lagoon movie. When was the last time there was a good swamp moster movie?
Nathaniel Butler
>capeshit you can't use that kind of term when you're defending a flickbomb.
Nathaniel Rogers
I liked it too, even though the ending seemed too slapped together. I hope Dark Universe does well; I think it's a cool concept.
Wyatt Brooks
It was doomed to fail without Brendan Frasier
Brandon Rogers
>mfw I realize this movie is giving me a necrophilia fetish
John Russell
I think they fucked up making that movie.
Connor Nelson
I think your parents fucked up making you.
Alexander White
They fucked, that's for sure. Maybe one day you'll get to do it too.
Justin Jenkins

I honestly thought Cruise was better in this movie than I expected.
Hearing that Cruise was going to play the main character, I thought he was going to be completely unlike Fraser. The movie as a whole is still VERY much unlike the original, but Cruise actually did an okay job of being a silly, reckless guy like Fraser's character.
Kayden Evans
>mfw people call Fraser's Mummy "the original"
Andrew Williams
>didn't even wait for Ahmanet to be fully regenerated before giving us a scene where she literally straddles Nick and feels him up thoroughly (with evident satisfaction) >she turns downright yandere because of Jenny
I'm still not 100% sure what the purpose of it all was. But I liked it.
Caleb Ortiz
>Every one has mistakenly compared it to the Fraser versions, when it's clear it had no relation whatsoever to those films And the Fraser versions has little relation to the karloff version.
Benjamin Jenkins
Just saw this movie. It wasnt even that bad. The Mummy was hot 2bh. Only thing bothered me was Tom Cruise as the main actor. Cannot wait for other Universal monster movie
Easton Wilson
Can someone point me the track from the OST with the rolling stones theme orchastrated with the female vocals?
Camden Sullivan
whitewashing
Jason Stewart
So, what's with the weird double-eyes?
Camden Wilson
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen crossover? I haven't seen the movie, but please explain
Angel Martinez
Romance of the Mummy was the original user, not the Karloff version. And there was another remake after that one that also came before Karloff's version, too. >peole literally think the remake of the remake was the real original Actually there's a blink-you-miss-it moment where they show the Book of the Dead from the Fraser movie, implying that the Fraser movie happened in the same universe as the current movie.
Noah Campbell
Sofia is from Algeria, you memeing dipshit.
Jeremiah Morgan
whys it rated R ? tits or no tits?
Leo Ramirez
No tits.
A few closeups of barely-covered tits, though.
Cooper Sanders
>Algeria = Egypt
You racist white dog
Levi Ramirez
>no relation whatsoever It had the book of the dead from the first mummy in Jekylls museum
Jeremiah Watson
I had a lot of issues with it, but hyde and the ending as well got me hyped for this monster universe. I'm a sucker for these kinds of things
Lincoln Mitchell
Penny Dreadful already did it. And it was way better.
