Dear Cartoonfags

Do you love animation as a heartbreaking art form that you want to know more about/study? Or you are JUST into it because of your fetishes and fapbait?

Both

Both.

Both

Why Sup Forums only talk about fetishes regarding cartoons them?

Even fucking Sup Forums talks more about the industry, the creators and the process of making one.

why not?

We have CalArts threads almost daily.

>Sup Forums
>talking about anything that isn't moeshit

...

Definitely both.

Good fap material with plenty of qts, and I love animation as an art form. I'm totally shit at drawing too, and if anything music is my passion, I admire people who put the time and effort that goes into making cartoons.

They are all bait threads.

Sadly, yes. But that's the extent of Sup Forums's ability to talk about the industry. Other than the occasional thread that sometimes offers advice on how to break the into the industry itself.

Both. Mostly the former. Sup Forums is mostly the latter though.

We should be having more foreign comics and animation threads but they don't last long at all. I try.

I think seperating the capestuff from the rest would be a good thing. It's weird seeing all these live-action shows be discussed on here.

I recomend to make a general international thread for western animation.

To be fair, Sup Forums has a lot more to talk about in that regard.

Yet there's a heavy language barrier. We have a lot of relevant, assessible info available in English but your average Sup Forumsnon could tell you more about their industry than a Sup Forumsmrade could. What's our excuse?

there's not much to talk about regarding cartoons. As a medium of art it's almost laughable, the age ghetto has stagnated cartoons to such a degree that shitty flash and 3D is outnumbering well made animation 10 to 1 here, and there's like one artistically valid cartoon being made per year which inevitably gets no money and gets canned.

Because plot and studio bitching are instantly burned out while fetishes just burn forever

Both
But here it's easier to talk abou fetishes
For actual cartoon studies and discussion i go to other forums and friends irl

If you're going for serialized stuff, but there's a ton of great shorts and movies out there. And honestly the cartoon versus anime shit really stiffles discussion about world animation. Sure we occassionally talk about French stuff, but I see barely any discussion about Russian animation and zero regard for other country's output.

What I'm getting at is where's The Boy and The World discussion.

Western animation seems anonymous. Movies are usually attributed to the studio, and shows to lead writers (live action is the same), and that's about it.

This is representative of ANN posts about upcoming shows:
>Kei Oikawa (Outbreak Company, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!, Minami-ke: Okaeri) is directing the series at studio feel. Naruhisa Arakawa (MAOYU, Outbreak Company, Kingdom) is writing and overseeing the scripts, Mai Otsuka (Non Non Biyori, Shakugan no Shana) is designing the characters, and Satoshi Motoyama (Oreimo, Little Busters!, WATAMOTE) is the sound director. Kuniaki Masuda (Kiss×sis, So, I Can't Play H!) is the chief animation director.
>Izumi Todo, the collective pseudonym for the Toei Animation staff, is credited with the film's original work. Naoki Miyahara (Dragon Ball Z, "Precure All-Star DX 3D Theater" short, Precure series dance sequences) is directing the film, and Kouhaku Kuroboshi (Kino's Journey, World Conquest Zvezda Plot) drafted the original character designs. Shūko Arai (live-action Twin Spica series) is the scriptwriter, and Takayuki Uragami serves as character designer and chief animation director. Hiromi Mizutani (Tanaka-kun is Always Listless, Toriko, Non Non Biyori) and Shūji Katayama (Overlord, Yurumates3Dei) of Team-MAX are composing the film's music.
I think the fault is mostly with how the animation is produced and not how fans receive it.

(Those are two separate posts about different works if it isn't clear.)

Mostly the first one. I only fap to animu characters and anthro characters. My primary fetish (Macrophilia) is usually only a throw away episode that hardly even has a plot.

There is absolutely no reason for you to believe those are mutually exclusive.

People on Sup Forums are, generally speaking, really dumb. You can't talk about anything without it getting derailed, and you can't point out any examples without twenty people replying "sauce" for something as obvious as Snow White. I bet most people still think 2D animation on tv, for example, is entirely hand drawn, and they dismiss 3D entirely as being easy when they know nothing about rigging or renders or whatnot. CalArt threads are cancer because they spawned from trolls, but have now delved into people thinking they're right. Very few of the people they complain about have actually been to CalArts, and some of the most innovative animators came from there, like Henry Selick, Genndy Tartakovsky, and Pete Docter.

Both.

Sup Forums's saving grave is literally the comic threads. And even those can get ruined real quick. Literally all the cartoon fags are like retarded 9 out of 10. It really latches on to that whole "Grown Men watching media targeted mostly towards children"
And then all of the weird fetishes people on Sup Forums just brazenly display lol
It's like an entire board dedicated to broadcasting your power level.

Both. Animation was one of my first passions, as the ability to create something that seemed so alive was so awe-inspiring. If anything, my love and respect for the medium has only grown over the years.

Neither. I don't know art but I know what I like. And I happen to like cartoons.

why not both?

Well, he regulary cartoonfag ere is a pedophile.

Also the amount of "both here shows you how many fetishfags there are in this place. You can see why we have always at the very least 4 fetish threads up, and almost never a meanfull discussion about animation.

People say "both" but it isn't true. See what this user explained

Cartoon grills don't turn me on, so the first.

why would anyone be in it for the fapbait? surely anime is a better choice if you want to jack it to drawings

Yes.

Bump

Classic cartoon is better for fapbait. I think anime women and men look retarded though

But we do.

The industry is shit, that's why.

>Do you love animation as a heartbreaking art form that you want to know more about/study? Or you are JUST into it because of your fetishes and fapbait?
They entertain me, you gigantic nigger faggot.

This. Although I think the waifu fags should fuck off

...

I want cartoons to be real and it helps me with my daydreaming, my daydreaming is non anime 2D...

I am cray cray bby.

We do sometimes, but mostly its in the context of being sad about the state of the industry.

Usually the former followed by the latter. If a show is entertaining, great. If a show is entertaining AND people draw a bunch of porn of it, even better.

Also, the fetishfags on here are nowhere near as bad as all the paranoid anti-sjw "hurrdurr it's pushing a liberal agenda hurrdurr" faggots.

But, my dear bro, cartoons are not waifus, we are just funposting. Have some fun little dog, life is to short, and there is many cray cray peeps around.

The only difference between this and people saying "I hate yaoi fans because they push their sick fetish in every conversation" is that I don't like yaoi.
So I guess I'm okay with any fetish as long as it's mine.

Neither.

I'm here to enjoy cartoons. I genuinely enjoy consuming this art form, but I'm not going to slave over it and study it. It's not my work, it is not something that I wish to spend my time learning. Some people here delude themselves into thinking they will be an artist simply because they enjoy art. I've come to terms with that a long time ago.

Therefore, you are a faggot and I will not have you judging me.

Both, nigga.

But, I don't want a show to be ABOUT both unless it fits the context that the show's going for, or just be about fanservice.

If I wanted to imagine a character doing the do, I'd just go watch some porn or read some lewd shit.

Cartoonfags are the worst part of Sup Forums.

I love western animation for your first, for fapping anime is better since japs draw better lewds and basically like 80% is shit anyways so I don't feel weird fapping to it. Fapping to western shows feels weird to me since I actually know the characters.
