Mr. Hoightin is a side-character from a Hans Christian Andersen tale, the man who abstained from love out of fear of losing it through tragedy.
This is a play on that, as The Pest goes through many famous fictional character disguises throughout the opening scene. Obviously an Anderson tale wouldn't use the term 'sexy', its out of context outlandishness adds to the comedic value.
