there are a couple of things you have to realize to put things into perspective. while this stuff may be described as "low-end" each packaged/boxed figure goes for about $10-$30, and they have a lot of them. I know that 12" taun-taun figure in the back goes for about $50-100+. secondly, they didn't buy all of this now for the "nerd crew" bits, most of this is stuff they already owned.
