They decompose within a couple days when they die. Also they are naturally skittish, they avoid other animals at all costs so it is almost impossible to film one. I have seen a couple but they always run away before I can interact with them in any way.

We had our own Big Foot for about 15 years near the little village I was living in. It turned out to be just an hermit living in the woods. A big beard, a fur coat and some autism making him not want any human contact made people think it was a fucking Big Foot.

As for dead ones, they say finding dead primates and bears are just as rare. And that is with species that have more population than Bigfoot / Sasquatch.
I guess with the forest, the forest floor makes it so a corpse doesn't last too long. If I remember right, it makes it acidic? Then you have scavengers too.
