I think Blomkamp could make an awesome Metro movie.

And his biggest weakness is not ceding control of the stories to his movies over to competent scriptwriters. He has a knack for visuals, effects, casting, etc. but he does tell mostly the same story over and over. I think that if he had been allowed to make the Alien movie it would have steered him away from this issue.
