omg i hate the imperial system now
Wtf I love the metric system now
idgaf we still better than your snowy ass country nigga
>ooga booga we beda than you
I hope putin nukes your arrogant ass
Satan why are you so jealous?
Satan?
What the fuck I hate this tired meme now
I can explain why some of these are still good.
Miles make measurements like miles/gallon of gasoline more relatable. 15mpg is worse than 40mpg, and they're easy numbers. I've heard that many European countries use liters/kilometer, which just seems really assbackwards.
Feet are a good way of dividing things that are about a meter long into slightly smaller bits. Also, the average stride is about a yard, not a meter, and human feet are around 1 foot long, so it's easy to measure if you don't have a measurement device.
Pounds - these are just stupid, but stones just sounds stupid.
M/d/y - The reason we do this is firstly because we've always done it that way, but also because when you say January 2nd, 2015, you say it in Month - day - year format. The other way, you would say "The 2nd of January, 2015" which just doesn't have the same flow to it.
You forgot one: Celcius vs. Fahrenheit.
I prefer Celcius for science, but in everyday life, Fahrenheit is much easier to understand. 100F is a blisteringly hot day, while 0F is freezing cold. The spacing between degrees of Fahrenheit are smaller, so you can more accurately give the temperature without decimal points. It's just more intuitive for weather than celsius. Celsius obviously dominates when it comes to scientific measurement.
...
Also, when it comes to cooking, the Imperial system dominates. That's why the Brits can't cook worth shit.
But the date format is in both... Questionable. The only good date format would be yyyy mm dd
Because the most valuable number is always at the beginning.
Look at your trips, newfag.

When are muricans converting to metric system they can't go like this forever when it's the current year.
Most of the world until a better system was presented.
US Imperial units are a refinement of British Imperial units, which were largely considered the most sane of pre-SI scales.
USA will eventually move to metric as the USA itself becomes secondary in earth affairs to Earth's affairs in a larger galaxy.
>remember, Tesla and SpaceX use metric... Mars will be metric, it's only a matter of time until Metric is the galactic standard.
But for now they are comfortable with and used to their units, unlike most everyone else they didn't NEED to scramble to metric (much like Britain) as their measurements were already (relatively) sensible.
Don't ask me why
why nips use reverse pyramid scheme dates
I only know of Americans saying the month first.
If I were to say today's date, I'd say "It's the third of August".
Eh, it works for us. Metric is great, no lie, but it's not exactly easy to grasp metric because we're so used to burger units.
>mfw we still don't use a metric time sytem
>mfw we still don't use an alphabetical keyboard
>mfw we all don't speak a single language
Why do people make things hard for themselves?
>Oct=8
>Sept=9
>Dec=10
>February last month of winter
>Leap day is added to February
>mfw Chinese New Year is the ACTUAL New Year
it doesn't matter if you're smart enough to learn more than one system.
Got taught to measure thinks in burger units.
2"+1/128' in length and width 1"+8/128'.
Ye, thats easy to measure and calculate.
July and August were added by some Roman fucks. Screwed everything up.
Another thing about the Fahrenheit scale is that it isn't completely arbitrary like some seem to think.
There are 180 degrees between the temperature at which water freezes and the temperature at which it boils. 180 is a nice, easy familiar number to anyone who has ever done much math.
You have the right idea. Sept is 7 and Nov is 9.
>Metric time
60 is the smallest number with the most number of factors, making it easily divisible . A property extremely useful for time.
>mfw we still don't use an alphabetical keyboard
Dvorak should be the accepted standard.
>mfw we all don't speak a single language
Will never happen.
