a prophetic poem
1
Great emperor Karl hallowed in Rome
Cornerstone of German age you will always be
One-hundred-sixty seven years deadline
Until Germany will be hit marrow-deep
2
Drudge as a servant for foreign people will your son
They will do as they please with the rights of their slaves
Cruelly ripped by enemy hand
One bloods, one languages tie
3
Live on stomach, live on the juice of Germany
Until with his, your power ends too
Sickens the Heart, ails the whole body
Germany’s misery is the world’s ruin
4
The poor will be rich of money very quickly
But the quick wealth will turn to ashes
Poorer everyone with the biggest treasures
Less people, lesser even the room
5
Because thrones of rulers got abolished
Ruling will become game and passion
Until the day comes, where they think they're damned
Anyone who will be appointed to
6
The peasant will taunt until the day of turn
All his efforts only washout
Exhortation will fall on desert sand
Only the unreasonable will find listeners
7
The ones with the biggest sins
Think of themselves as judge and highest councilor
Smokes the blood, the beast gets only wilder
Robbery becomes a profession and murder becomes greed
8
Rome will chop the flock of Priests into pieces like cattle
Not gentle to the old man with silver hair
Over corpses the highest has to flee
And move, hunted, from place to place
9
Godforsaken he seems, but he is not
Adamant in creed, loyal to duty
Even in hardship he doesn't afford abstinence
Brings the God-fight to near court
10
Winter will come three days darkness
Lightning and thunder and tearing of the ground
Pray at home, don't leave your house
Also by the window don't look at the horror outside!
11
A candle will give the whole time and all alone
Give you light, in case it pleases to
Poisoned breath rises from the dust-night
Black plague, worst human slaughter
