Rivette's visuals were flat, unoriginal, and uninventive.

Apocalypse now
Inherent Vice
American Gangster??

couldn't be more angsty and edgy if it tried

I just saw Logan, so it's a little bit of honeymoon and a little bit of awesomeness. The movie is very satisfying, its predictable, but it is The best way possible that Hugh Jackman could go out. I will rage if we don't get a X-23 timeline of films.
>Clerks 2
I dunno, I liked Clerks 1 and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but I like them both for different reasons. Clerks 2 tries to do too much.
I might watch John Wick. What should I expect?

in no order

That's 10 of my favourite off the top of my head.
Could have easily put another 10 that I love just as much.

what if i watched a shit ton of non english films, i just don't think any stack up to these ones

>Stalingrad(1993)
You either haven't seen Come and See or you have no taste, seeing as no one would be bold enough to put two Soviet WWII films on the same list.

If you've watched a shit ton, you'd at least have two on your top 10.

Hey it's me the guy you told to watch non english movies. I have seen some. But these are my favorite and you're not going to tell me to not post on here because I love coming here and talking about movies. I've learned alot about cinematography, framing, editing and sound and set design from my discussions here.

why would you tell me not to post here unless I have achieved your so called shit taste? people like you are insufferable.

by the way, dersu uzala isn't in english. Either is Tampopo nor Andre Rublev, which are others in my top 10, you condescending cunt.

a good, original, impactful movie comes out and all you try hard assholes shit on it because
>muh contrarian
grow up. It's objectively a great movie. Sound design, acting, pacing, it's technically top-tier.
>inb4 predictable plot and miles "literally who" whats-his-name can't act for shit.
it's a good movie.

I actually appreciate critic posting.

You should check out Dersu Uzala. great movie, and directed by Kurosawa. One of his better ones, IMO, but definitely overlooked.

Unbelievably atrocious editing, abysmal acting from the lead, insipid white-washed cacophony that dares to call itself "jazz"...
It's shit.

It's literally only overlooked because it's not available on Criterion, as sad as that is.

a combination of work, having to throw an unhealthy amount of energy towards dealing with retards in all areas of my life, and a lot of laziness/lack of motivation even when i get opportunities.. and this place.

seems like this place goes from an asset (despite the deteriorating quality) to a massive liability when my amount of free time evaporates..

which list is yours?

>which list is yours?
The OP ;)

Inherent Vice
Knight of Cups
Voices Through Time
Inland Empire
Andrei Rublev
The Tree of Life
Fire Walk With Me
Upstream Color
Othello (1951)
The Seventh Seal

Nice, not sure any other lists so far beat yours

Anthropoid
The Place Beyond The Pines
No Country For Old Men
Death Sentence
Pirates Of The Caribbean
Lucky Number Slevin
Inglorious Basterds
Pacific Rim
The Dark Knight
Pineapple Express

>Not sure if real list or not, but I dig it
I assure, the list is very real.
Shallow Hal is the most poignant and honest "comedy" I've ever seen. The scene in which Jack Black truly "sees" the little burned girl for the first time is arguably the most moving depiction of love ever shown on film.

Brazil
Stalker
Oldboy
The Thing
The Human Condition Trilogy
2001: A Space Oddyssey
The Guest
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Seven Samurai
Playtime

But I have, I love the man from no where and old boy is alright too

Embarrasing.
