It's a well acted scene but the whole idea is just terrible. No one would wait that long to tell him that. Harry spent many nights obsessing over that and Bernard waited that long?

Even though that goes right along with Harry as a character it's still kind of dumb. Would have been better if Harry was watching it happen on tv and saw that MJ was in trouble too, which would have triggered a quick flash of "Peter, Harry, and MJ friendship" memories, and that's what convinced him to help.

Raimi reportedly cut it because the whole joke hinged on Jameson looking silly on the suit and J.K. Simmons simply looked too good in it.
desu it's a really odd scene, even if it is hilarious. When I watched 2.1 it felt so out of place and jarring, but maybe that's just because I'm so used to the theatrical cut.
