Deadwood

Does anybody else have to rewind deadwood to get what the fuck people mean? I rewind it and finally get what they mean and appreciate the writing of the show immensely but damn sometimes it feels like a fucking T.S. Eliot work when they talk perhaps because I'm a fucking retard. Like rewatching the show I just realized the rape and incestuous overtones between alma Garrett and her father.

No. But then I watch everything with subtitles.

When the show was first airing, I had it going in the background while I did other things. Damn near impossible to make sense of the dialogue if you're not sitting there actively listening and paying attention to it. That said, when you do sit down and really listen you realize that David Milch might've written the greatest masterpiece of our time.

>perhaps because I'm a fucking retard.
At least you're aware of it.

>I just realized the rape and incestuous overtones between alma Garrett and her father
The show is packed with rape and incest. I think the only woman characters that weren't a victim of at least one of those two things was Martha Bullock, the black cook, and Jewel.

Same. And I did rewind and rewatch scenes often in Deadwood because they were so great. Not because of the language.

>previously on Deadwood
more like
>in which we aim to summarize the recent dramatic events of the previously aforementioned televised program, albeit presented to you in a more colloquial manner, I suppose that is to say that such a presentation's arbitrary goal depends on its having once informed certain narrative matters with incessant filibusterings akin to superfluous dialectics, in so far as you know a little about what to expect when the latest audiovisual segment comes forth, you loopy fucking cunt

the unnecessary dense dialogue is what made me stop watching. It felt so heavy and snob, especially the main woman.

>cocksucker
what does he mean by this?

ayy

Remember season two, how they built it all up like there was going to be an epic battle at the end, but then came the last episode and the bad guys just rode out of town at the end? Remember how you felt like a chump for watching and wanted to smash your television? Was that just me?

Literally any and everything, you goddamn cocksucker

No, but that's because I remember something like that happening in season 3.

Turn on the subtitles, stupid americunt

...

Movie just won't be the same without Cy, though.

Milch is the best American writer of the last century. He just happens to work on TV instead of literature.

perfect

It really is a shame. Also Richardson.

>you loopy fucking cunt

Brainlet
Rewinding your favourite scenes is fine though.

>rewind
I"m amazed cocksuckers still use this word
