Steven Universe: Attack The Light is actually a fun and engaging game

>Steven Universe: Attack The Light is actually a fun and engaging game
I wasn't expecting this out of a mobile game.

I'd rather attack the darkness.

I cast Magic Missile!

Casting magic missile at the darkness is actually a 100% viable tactic. As magic missile always hits, so the monsters hiding in the darkness won't be protected by the miss chance.

I'm getting drunk. Are there any girls there?

Ha ha ha

I get the reference.

Not true. Magic Missile states that you have to be able to see the target in order to hit it. If you choose 'The Darkness' as your target, you are not aiming at a creature in the darkness, only the darkness itself. You'd have to know the creature was there and be able to see it at least vaguely.

Well, if you attack the darkness, itself, that's basically hitting a really large target with smaller targets inside of it, right? Like thrusting your sword through a dragon and hitting something that it ate.

Fuck your powergaming, you cheating bitch. It's not happening, simple.

You can't attack the dark, you have to turn it off.

I know they weren't a great band but they don't deserve magical assault.

>being mad just because you can't handle actual strategy

If I was ruling this as a DM, I would allow the Magic Missile to reach the edge of the darkness and fizzle out. The moment the edge of the target (darkness) is touched, the spell's parameters are met. The illumination caused by the magic missile might be enough to reveal creatures hiding in the darkness (momentarily), but it certainly wouldn't damage them.

>tfw Pearl is the strongest

What the fuck? I don't deserve your bullshit.

How can the missile itself actually touch "the darkness" when it's generating light?

Not that guy, but find me the wording for Magic Missile from any edition of D&D, and pretty much all of them state that you need a specific target. It's not strategy if it doesn't work.

Fireball, on the other hand...

It would be touching the specific area at which you directed it, and go no further.

Don't try to fight it, just go with the flow.

Just observation.

The funky flow.

There, now we're a bit more Sup Forums related.

The rules for fighting in darkness are that you choose a square. So, you hit the square and whatever is in it with 100% reliability.

Unfortunately, if there is nothing in it, you're fucked.

It's hardly a Sup Forums thread when it's a video game based on a cartoon. Also, if OP even tried to make this thread on Sup Forums, it'd get spammed.

Give me a quick run-down. How long is it? How much SU content is there (funny lines, animations, etc.)? What's the gameplay like?

Isn't it fucking great?

Yet rules for magic missile say you must choose a target you can see. No DM worth his salt would ever let you use that tactic. You want to flail around in the dark with spells? Try an acid arrow, a fireball, cloudkill, whatever. Not spells that specifically state that they need a target you can see.

>So, you hit the square and whatever is in it with 100% reliability.
What!? That is completely wrong. First you have to roll the attack check at a penalty for not being able to see, second you have to roll miss chance for the target having total concealment.

I love it but its so repetative. Id like a sequel with more variation

5-10 hours. There's not a lot of voice acting, but the writing is there. It's basically an RPG, but also relies on reaction time for double attacks and defending. It uses SU's distance models, so everyone has の eyes.

Now that I think about, it really IS pointless to debate this... the DM is the ultimate arbiter of rules in any campaign, and if a player convinces him that this tactic will work, then it will.

You just need to find a DM who is an easily misled idiot.

Is there any way I can play this on a pc?

For a fuckin $3 mobile game it was pretty damn fun.

I am completely behind a full scale $60 game if the crew is willing to work on it.

Magic missile doesn't create light, and magical darkness can be a tangible substance
