Wow, that was the worst standup special I've ever seen. I don't blame HBO for firing him after that shit

>watching this trash in the first place

dude i'm goofy lmao

this cocksucker looks so smug I'd love to crush his head with a breezeblock

I didn't see the special you are talking about. But he has never been very funny and was lucky to even have a job in show business. He seems like he's a nice guy, I actually wish he was more talented

I say this with zero hyperbole that he is literaIIy reddit: the actor

Haven't watched it, but the dudes fucking great in Silicon Valley
Can you give me a rundown of why it was bad

it's not funny

>He seems like he's a nice guy

Yeah, I thought the same thing when he assaulted a taxi driver because they had a different political affiliation.

dropped

A very high percentage of the punchlines involve him just screaming in a silly voice while making a goofy face.

he's bretty gud in silicon valley as a nice contrast to the other guys' personalities but the fact he's leaving the show to be in a fucking emoji movie is retarded. i understand everyone has to eat and that no one has any integrity anymore, but come on

it was bad, I can't defend it. He's very good on SV and liked him in Deadpool. Stand up ain't his thing though.

I haven't seen it, but I remember that Colbert interview where he does some dumb prop bit, and the trailers for this special showed a bunch of water splashing bits. Seems like the material takes a backseat to the physicality of his comedy. Colbert below

Skip to 2:38 for the inconsiderate bit

the fuck is a breeze block?

what am i supposed to be seeing here? where is the red box highlighting what i'm supposed to look out for?

or at the very least hold him down with soggy clothes

>breezeblock
it's what limeys call a cinder block

He just continually bombed during the entire show. Wasn't really funny, you can tell there was a lot of pity laughs.

Broke my heart to see his face keep falling when he told a joke and there was an awkward silence.

I liked his older stuff, but this one..... was just heartbreaking.

the dropped poster is angry about jews

The second hand embarrassment I felt during the "EVER SNEARD OF IT?!" bit was way too much for me.

For clarification to those who haven't seen the show:

This was one of his bits you can expect. "Sneard" is a word he invented that means "when you smell something a nerd heard". Like you're hanging out with nerd, and there's a loud noise and the nerd points it out. So you smell, and deduce it might've been a flower pot that fell in the kitchen or something

Funny right?

That deafening silence before he yells "RIGHT?!"

Jesus he's hard to watch

that was awful, at least it didn't drag on as long as the battleaxe bit. I hate to say it, but even Amy Schumer's last HBO special was better than this.

A better way to say that is that he slapped a taxi driver in the back of the head. Assault implies there was a fight and not him being a coward.

And yet a more accurate way to say it would be that he slapped the taxi driver, tried to run away, got grabbed by the much stronger man and held down screaming while the cabbie called the cops and had him arrested in tears.

He seems like he has actual mental issues, I feel bad for him.

I thought how those HBO Specials were filmed was that they would follow a comedian around to each of his shows for like 3 or 6 months, film them all, and then select the one that had the best deliveries and audience reactions and basically came out the best. Isn't that how a lot of them are done?

He's missing part of his brain

What if this was his best show?

Why are liberals so bad at comedy? Is it the Trump curse?

damn

>Gobblesnarf
Was there a single bit in the whole special where the audience didn't seem like they were just pity laughing to make it end?

Err-ich Bachman. This is you comedy future. I'm finish and dead.

>

No lie, the audience absolutely loved the start of the show when they were cheering for the fact that they're in Colorado.

Then the 2nd biggest laugh wasn't him, it was that guy in the front row that got to hold his battleaxe.

They're too careful.

Sneard's Nerd & Heard
Formerly Chuck's

It's because a lot of things can't be joked about to lefties and so not only do their jokes end up being terribly unoriginal but they grow old real fast.

I wouldn't think so, it's not cheap to bring and set up all the cameras. I think they just film one show and comedian is supposed to bring their best stuff.

Only exception I can think of is that Chris Rock special, where they filmed 3 shows and them inter sliced them together. Chris Rock was well worth the money though.

Heh

You have to take risks in comedy, even if it means offending someone.

Leftists are risk averse.

>Stewart Lee
>funny

is the kind of bad where you wanna watch it because its a tranwreck or the kinda bad where you feel bad for the guy and wanna tell him this might not be for him?

i think if you're far in either direction you aren't going to be funny. probably the majority of funny entertainers tilt left however. i don't mean "sjw liberal" i mean idealogical left.

who are some conservative funny people?

He's actually a huge asshole. He punched his uber driver because he was pro trump.

TJ is a try hard. Like Robin Williams later in his career?

No. They usually film two shows at the same venue. Chris Rock had one where he was in like 3 different countries.

>This was one of his bits you can expect. "Sneard" is a word he invented that means "when you smell something a nerd heard". Nearly every good comic leans left

How is this guy getting paid money for this?

99% of Sup Forums is funnier than this imbecile

Best part of this special is he tries to bill himself as absurdist but doesn't understand what makes absurdism funny and just acts like a fucking idiot

Standup is such a meme. Name one person that's better at standup than they are at acting. Nobody. Writers exist for a reason.

DUDE
WATER
I'M ALL WET
THAT USUALLY WOULDN'T HAPPEN

>I know you wouldn't usually expect someone onstage to be soaking wet... but I am, so deal with it faggots

Good.

In every interview or live spot i've seen him in - he comes across as an arrogant douchebag who just shits on whoever is not in his posse.

The ol everybody's dumb except for me bit. Richard Pryor's standup is way better than any of his movies. Stop being such a goddamn nerd.

>who are some conservative funny people?

Jeff Dunham and Larry the Cable Guy.

He can't be the real dropped-poster because there's no red box.

I also have a theory that dropped-kun is also the guy that posts links of pornstars fucking asian men.

you didn't watch this? lucky man

He's trying to do Tim and Eric like humor, and I want to like it, but I can't. When you watch intentional cringe, there's the deadpan serious layer, and then you know they're just a funny chill person underneath. That's what makes it funny. This dude seems like a dick. So he's pretending to be a chill person playing a bit, but it just negates and you see how forced it is.

I'm not even gonna watch the prop bit.

>DUDE BATTLEAXE LMAO
>THE ONLY JOKE I'M GOING TO MAKE FOR THE NEXT TWENTY MINUTES IS HOW RIDICULOUS IT IS THAT I BOUGHT A BATTLEAXE

I heard him on the radio the other day.

Within the first few minutes be brought up how everywhere he goes he's asked for photographs.
He doesn't let people take them btw, he actually gives them a lecture on "experiencing the moment and not living life through a camera lens".

I mean no hyperbole when I say he should be boiled alive in a giant pot.

This seems like someone who isn't funny, isn't fun to be around and doesn't even have a sense of humour, never mind a bad one. And he's trying to be funny even though he has no interest in it?

Is it supposed to be funny because it makes no sense?

Larry uses a fake southern accent.
Southern people don't know or care.

Why are there so many triggered Trumplrinas in this thread?

this was fucking garbage, the man isn't a comedian

by the very definition of the word, so are conservatives

>Oh yea..I spill that ink all over my face..GET IT?! It's a cooky writer's metaphor haha...Oh boy, better tune in for my special because i'm going to say some OUTRAGEOUS stuff.. Some really wild stuff right here, seriously
