read the bible and convert poo boy

No but they talked about it on Ancient Aliens

Huge fan of it. Would even consider conversion. Totally understand the Orange-Catholic Bible from Dune now.
Want to get the Mahabarata, but the only decent looking English translation isn't finished yet (and is fucking expensive).

I read the first 1/4 then had to put it down...

clearly a justification for the destruction and enslavement of the other nation on the continent...

Just Bronze age propaganda

>clearly a justification for the destruction and enslavement of the other nation on the continent...
Are you sure it was the Bhagivad Gita..? It's mostly theological stuff. And good stuff at that, set against the backdrop of a battle.

Is it the hindu bible? Is it self explanatory or should I get some intro into Hinduism first?

You could probably find intro stuff first, but i found it a fine starting point.

I was on my way to the parkinglot in my college and some guy in woven sandals and a mud dot came up to me and started talking all poetic and handed me one. And then explained its usually customary to give money for the cost of printing. I have him like 3 dollars in quarters. He hugged me awkwardly and said to read it, and don't get too hung up over the first two chapters, but await the rest. Then he walked off into the back roads up into the hills. Don't get me wrong, eastern philosophy is different so i find it as a way to learn and understand a different culture.

Yes. Read it for World Lit a few months ago. Based desu. I thought it was gonna be poo in loo nonsense. Why is the Hare Krishna version supposed to be so bad?

>Satan trying to make me a Hindu
But I'll do.

POO

The guy was a Hare Krishna follower. That happened to me too at school. I gave the guy a fiver and he offered me a book and an invitation to his temple. The guy was nice enough and I didn't want to be a dick, so I told him I already had a copy and that I wasn't looking for any religious enlightenment at the moment.

thats my point though. They use a spiritual narrative to give a context to the battle.

I know when im being fed propaganda

>ywn live in freedom land where non-muslims are allowed to practise their religion publicly
Love me some eastern philosophy/religions but it's hard to find a starting point.

Anyone know where to start with Buddhism?
I took out this thread it is okay to start with Bagavad Gita on Hinduism

i like it, i've gotten good knowlege from it

sorry this is christchan now

Yes! I have read Eknath Easwaran's translation. I loved it. Beautiful book. Hinduism is a rich culture and religion.

It's the other way around, though, and most of it is completely ignoring the battle.

You might actually want to start with Hindu stuff, since Buddhism branched off from it (i forget which parts, though). As for their particular texts, it's the Tripitaka, Mahayana Sutras and the Book of the Dead.
Couldn't tell you anything about them, though.

It kind of reads like science fiction or modern fantasy in parts.

It's like Scientology if Scientology were several thousand years old.

It's incredibly insightful and personally subjective then abrahamic religions. I find the Bible, Koran and Torah too literal and boring to read, they tell more then show, as the Bhagavat Gita does.

>I remember the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bagavath Gita
>Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince he should do his doors
>in the looy
>I suppose we all felt that, one way or anther.

>it's an actually good thread episode

>Elephant face man
>Blue women
>Women with lots of hands
I'll pass.

Alright sweet...

You wanna take over australia with me, we will kill anyone who stands in our way...

We are Karmically superior...

Great Curry recipies. Chicken Tikka Masala rocks!

are you a poo? just so i know where you are coming from

Something similar happened with me. I go to cross the street, I forget how the conversation started but I tell him I know of the Bagavath Gita from the Oppenhimer quote. He hands me a copy, I take it, then makes it known he's expecting some compensation. I hand it back.

We don't convert people to hinduism by saying that everything you are doing will make you go to hell. Or if you don't follow us you will die a painful death and then will suffer eternal pain in hell. That's why we are still thriving among that Abrahamic bullshit.

That's really not how that works. You really should read the rest of it without your preconceived biases, bro.
Also, Karma isn't really explored too much in it. I believe that's in one of the other texts.

Maybe you should use it as toilet paper
poo in loo

Pretty based. Most religions push for the same set of fundamental values. Moderation and self improvement through suffering and training of the body against temptations are the common thread through which it happens

We can, because unlike your godly beardly halfly nakedly "HOLEy" man, our gods doesn't send us to hell for ignorance.

Yes. It is a demonic book written by aryans to controll the poo in loo savages.

Convert to Christianity and be saved.

This is very true, more of a philosophy on how to live and be spiritually enriched more then any organised religion as the West perceives it.

Only read it awhile ago and the common passage with Arjunah and Krishna but it was good. Nice succinct bit of the whole spirit of Dharma and such. It's a shame Buddhism and Hinduism is one of those things where layperson pop cultural appreciation of it is so obnoxious and crass and chic when it has some real good elements and themes to it. I like the presence of deities or the heavenly being far above man and not being a vindictive robber-baron cunt like Yaweh and Allah.

Far as I understand you guys don't, Krishna types excepted, really even try to convert at all. I figured that HInduism was more of a ethno-nationalistic faith, not exactly one that welcomes or wants converts.

Hell is more logical
People are morally judged
Good are reward and bad are punished

Yup.

Well, our religion is mature enough to know that no man can be without sins. Whether he goes to hell or heaven decides whether his sins outweighs his good deeds or not.

>Well, our religion is mature enough to know that no man can be without sins. Whether he goes to hell or heaven decides whether his sins outweighs his good deeds or not.
We literally have the same concept
Weird huh?

I heard some hindu branches accept Jesus as a manifestation of their God. Pretty cool imo.

comes from indo-Aryans.... before the poo in loo types took over thousands of years ago

Yeah, but our path to heaven isn't for only those who believes in Christ or Shiva or Vishnu or Ganesha. We can insult our Gods, be atheists and still be in heaven if we are a good person.

Yep, we don't care who you worship or whether you worship. Hinduism is more a way of life than a religion.

>Yeah, but our path to heaven isn't for only those who believes in Christ or Shiva or Vishnu or Ganesha. We can insult our Gods, be atheists and still be in heaven if we are a good person.
Some denominations put more emphasis on faith than others
You can't generalize one type of people to the whole
Look up universalism

Well no offense but how can such a bad country come out such a based religion? Indians aren't even stupid. They do great in the US in IT and such.

It makes sense. Arjuna asks Krishna/Vishnu what happens to people who worship other gods (Ie. Shiva, Ganesha, and so on), to which Krishna says that it doesn't matter, because they're all just what people see as aspects of Him. (The words are more to the effect of "Their prayers go to me anyway, because those other Gods are just how people have chosen to see me.")
It's pretty chill, and a version of monotheism which Christianity should better embrace.

Yeah yeah vishnu and arjuna says this and that
Only good bit is when vishnu goes edgy snd quotes Oppenheimer. Read it all they way through and they never even got to the battle ffs. Disappointed tbph. Load of crypic bollocks if you ask me that's why you need some beardy cunt in an orange toga to 'interpret it' for you AKA make up his own bollocks gor new age types to be mystic about when they're smoking bonhs and burning insence. Prefer the mahabharat, more battles and that monkey is a funny fucker. Good luck with the ModiFication. Godhra was an inside job btw. Vote BJP.

dravidians down south

>tfw going out with a northerner light skinned indian girl that looks Italian and comes from a rich family

>tfw she gave me a rusty trombone

Didn't know that. I like to know about the religions of the world and whenever I try to join conversations like that, Christians usually tell me how am I going to hell for not believing in Jesus.

Democracy and Corruption my friend. Democracy ensures smallest growth without offending much people and giving equal rights to morons and corruption acts as a termite to the pillars of development.

Read Mahabharata for the battle, its like mythological Game of Thrones. With wife shampooing her hair from the blood of her husband's cousin (Who was killed by her husband by ripping apart his chest with his bare hands) in a battlefield and shit.

I need to read the texts. I've been offering incense to Ganesha weekly lately.

India was pretty cucked by socialism too. Nehru and Ambedkar ruined it.

...

Yup. Thank god for Nationalism, or we would have become Pakistan 2.0

Hope you enjoy reading them. I find them pretty fun and cool.

I do. Awesome. Love this thing so much!

>bagavath gita
Does it mean Life of the God or The God's lifes?

Which is also the 1st law of Thermodynamics.

It means the meaning of life explained by Krishna to Arjuna during the battle of Mahabharata.

I've read it and it's okay. It's mostly about the morals of fighting your family members.

Hinduism has several major branches. Stop treating it like it is essentially monotheism.

There are many sects which are pure monism, something that seems far more fascinating than the ever judging creator meme.

>Hinduism has several major branches. Stop treating it like it is essentially monotheism.
Some of those branches ARE monotheistic, though.

I don't claim otherwise. I'm just mentioning that Hinduism is not a religion of the book, there is no strict philosophy chaining it down and whole slew of philosophies exist in it as did in ancient Greece. Going so far as to consider materialism to be a form of Hinduism.

even Rig Veda ponders the question
>Whence was it produced? Whence is this creation?
>The gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe.

Major dead branch of Hindu atheism
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charvaka

Christians act like donkeys with blinders and the priest sitting behind in a golden chariot with a whip in his hand.

Only the American ones. They're mindless zealots.

Krishna says what he needs to say to get Arjuna to fight in a war.

Well evolution makes sense in our religion so there is that too.

>that post
>that image

No, i don't read heathen shit.

Remember reading somewhere that Indians are possibly some of the most """religious""" people but at the same time seem to have a high percentage of them who believe in evolution, makes sense I suppose.

Whats is fascinating is despite the claim from "enlightened" Indians that Hinduism offers spiritual insight that is missing from religions in the west.

The civilisation coming from India promotes the most repressive cruelest form of humanity. Karma is used to explain away all forms injustice, repression and economic disparity.

The karmic heart of the baghavath gita is krishna telling untouchables in a psudo mystic style that they fucking deserve it.

darwin, i think originally his grandfather, got his ideas for evolution from indian hinduisim.

yfw evolution is a pseudo science

I read it at 16 and I thought it was retarded. I read it again at 23 and I keep it on my bedside table ever since.
Hinduism is definitely great inasmuch it is not as much of a religion as it is a worldview. Advaita Vedanta has to be one of the most complete philosophical systems ever designed. I thought about converting for some time, but gave up on the idea, because the nearest temple is at about 200km from where I live, and I can just as well adopt its core tenets in my daily life.

>Advaita Vedanta
What's that? A chapter or a different book

>repressive cruelest form of humanity
The most repressive and crulest form of humanity is the one where everyone is taught that they are equal, that everyone is capable from birth and everyone is deserving through birth.

Truth is painful and life so much so.

Hinduism is not a single branch religion. It has many different sects, as christianity has catholics and ortodoxes, but they mostly coexist in peace. It's based on the Vedas, their holy scriptures, but those weren't written all at the same time. Vedanta means the end of the vedas, like, the final part, and advaita means literally "not two", as in advocating unity of the divine. Look it up, even if you happen to disagree, it's a rather interesting weltanschauung

Did they survived? :(

>muh eastern philosophy is so deep t. Ignorant Americans

Y'all niggers need to read some Augustine and Duns Scotus

"Untouchables" are a conquered race and therefore are weaker and unworthy of respect.

Norse religion actually has an interesting take on the question. For them the creation comes forth from the Wyrd, which is basically the logos or the cumulative laws of the universe (including the past). The gods are powerful forces but ultimately are at the mercy of the Wyrd. That which exists exists because it must exist, and therefore the events that occur in the world happen because they must- so when someone died, it was said that the Wyrd had come for them.

>Augustine
I deserve death for not getting killed during rape
t. every Augustinian

>ignoring the forest for a tree that you can't quite agree with

The opening is one of the most redpilled texts about the notion of pacifism

read 80% of it, gonna finish the rest too when I get time

I would get a version with commentaries. Its like lyrics, you wont understand much on your own.

pic related was available as freedownload in iBooks 2-3 years ago

Is a good book. i recomend it.
the chapter 2 is really interesting and have cools stuff.

Pinch me, I must be dreaming

Its shit. Literally! the pages smell like shit and the author draws like shit. 0/10 thr bible was better.

never forget we wuz iranians and shiet brate

Iranians are bad ass family, look how they cuck US. Its not a shame to be descendant from them.

preexisting ancient technology of the spheres. not the usual windindu character.. they were taught this, they didn't invent it.

It's not tied to your lineage very many picked that thing up that they could travel to the stars..

In the bible per jude 14 echoing in enoch (the guy that got dissapeared in genesis) that he prophecied.. the "knowledge of the clouds".. is space travel.. but erased by the high ones.. because mankind wasn't ready for it (eating of the tree of the forbidden fruit of knowledge) we can't have the good stuff (till after the judgement) death of certain lineages / ressurection of certain lineages according to their merit none without exception..

Little tidbit.. reason they are white is because they're not under a sun on a constant basis.. uvb or uva.. (outside star systems in the void) as you can see in the bible aswell with the tribes of israel pulled out of egypt.. miriam wife or high priest aaron he gets pissed off.. why are you marrying an ethiopean woman.. (BLACK) does god not prevail with the likes of us? and she was punished in accordance to it, because moses was a high priest of them unlike no other man so he could do what he wanted, and man was of god.. regardless how they were bioadapted.. god got so pissed off that he made some of the hebrews intermix with the blacks causing the ethiopeans who have the same haplogroups.. but i digress.. thus the ethiopeans (caucasian traits) mix of the ancient israelites..

It's kind of funny if you think about it.. now we know by science the difference between uva and uvb groups.. still relatively denied science that creates the discrepancy from appearance, now ofcourse phenotypes are still real in different traits and behaviours etc. But he made the point.. even if the ancient israelites were whites as fuck.. non white isn't bad.. Different tasks different people..

consider the body of christ in the allegory

"And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you."

Every part of that which is in his body is necessary and put there not as a neglicant "oh shit i forgot to erase that here's my eraser" no.. every part has a duty.. what is the duty of those who know is to put all those into alignment to attain the body of christ on earth.. every aspect every little thing is useful everyone is taken care of.. and useful in the place that is procured from them..

What does the idiot say.. this pattern is not a pattern, let's destroy it.. let's rip it apart..

they rip it apart like a mosaic into a thousand pieces.. how to assemble it.. according to their merit none without exception..
