First pic of Jason Isaacs as Captain Gabriel Lorca.

>Lorca is described as “a steely Federation Starship Captain who’s considered a brilliant military tactician.”

You hype?

I'm sure it will be very exciting to watch him die in the first episode

i thought michelle yeoh was the one who dies

Even if he sticks around they'll just make him a punching bag for black womyn empowerment.

when does this take place, and what universe exactly? It better not be JJ Abrams tier trek

Is that a

FUCKING

WHITE

MALE

>The underarm scales are little starfleet emblems

so is starfleet nike now or like what

i hate this timeline

In between ENT and TOS

Because fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckfuc cjkwfdlikwfgareoipjm[fasdg FUAKC

How can you tell that he is the captain? There are no pins or other rank insignia

wtf i don't hate discovery now????

It looks like there are some dips or pips on the Star Fleet insignia on his chest, but that can't be it. How is anyone supposed to see that?

>now

Fuck off secondary

The asymmetric zipper annoys me.

There are four pins on his starfleet logo.

I'm just gonna leave this here.

I would have cared if it wasn't on their shitty CBS pay to watch bullshit.

wow, now that is retarded.
How will people see that? Small metal pins on a small metal logo

i thought the asian woman was the captain? i thought the only white male was gay? i thought star trek isnt for us anymore?

Think he'll live up the the legacy of Archer?

The uniforms are designed with commie tendencies, so that everyone looks the same from a distance. Practicality be damned.

Nope. Yeoh is the one that dies. Isaacs is the Captain of the Discovery.

looks like an adidas tracksuit

So what's it going to be about?

Free-spirited adventurous captain Michelle Yeoh dies while on a mission to spread peace and prosperity through the galaxy.
Instead of promoting first officer Black Womyn to command, Star Fleet replaces Yeoh with a steely, militaristic FWM who clashes with his new first officer on the regular, and is always proved to be in the wrong with his harder approach to space politics?

>I am ze captain naw cheeki breeki

Looks okay desu and i honestly like Yeoh desu would not be fussed if she was the lead.

Those are all his medals.

You know like how North Korea shows all there generals with medals down the chest and onto the pants.

SO that's why they took an extra year of re-shoots Yeoh must have been bad even by their standards

>steely

What did they mean by this?

Maybe the four bars circling his shoulders?

>How can you tell that he is the captain?

I thought asia-face was the captain, thats the vibe the trailers gave me

>FUCKING SJWS RUINING TREK WHERE ARE MY WHITE MEN
>White man cast as the Captain
>W-well they're surely going to make him, the captain and played by the most well-known actor in cast by far, incredibly unlikeable y-you'll see

Are Sup Forums tourists EVER not BTFO?

There are 5.

He was fantastic in A Cure For Wellness

>its a 'before TOS' episode that makes zero effort to capture the charm of TOS' sets, technology, or color

but user
Isaacs is a jew, not a white man
:^)

TWOOOOO SAAAAAUCERS

>cis white dude captain

how DARE they

I know you faggots will never believe me but I thought of and posted the basic premise for this series on this board years ago.

I had said they should have a series with Chow Yun Fat as an old wisened Captain that is always teaching life lessions to his young, brash first officer.

My favorite part of space travel is the part where everyone sits in a sterile office environment and works on computers.

I hope they also beat the viewers over the head with basic morality issues without finding an interesting point to make.
The viewers also need to constantly be told how living beings and their cultures are wonderful and unique while being shown people and cultures that are all so similar that they lack character.

Star Trek is a better example of an office than The Office.

The acid in the stomach is going to kill the eels, whats the point of this ?

eels out the butt

It' literally magic with a 200 years old loli and lizardpeople

>Janeway

>Voyager good

it was all shit

>First pic of Jason Isaacs as Captain Gabriel Lorca
Wow this surely isn't a sign of the amount of relevance he has to the show, no more than it being announced all throughout production that the first officer was the main character.

>“a steely Federation Starship Captain who’s considered a brilliant military tactician.”
He surely doesn't sound like he's going to be the villain either.

Gotta keep pretending the future is mostly white
Really makes you think...

To be fair, Janeway was only half of what was wrong with Voyager.

The other half was youtube.com/watch?v=JwZiezIxCVU

She dies, probably goes down with the ship, Also the Ship in the trailer is not the Discovery, It's the Shenzhou

why bother when its starring a dyke nigger

Don't forget this half either

youtube.com/watch?v=PIGxMENwq1k

Hmmm, why would they tease star trek with a different ship and a different captain???

quick turn this thread into a star trek general before I hurt myself

Gauge the reaction most likely.

okay

There was lots wrong with Voyager. The main cast mostly being dull as fuck no thanks to the guys in charge telling the writers to make the humans as dull as possible to somehow make the alien stuff more amazing by comparison is one of them. Even Kate Mulgrew couldn't figure out Janeway and deemed her to be bi-polar due to the writers not giving her a concrete character which is why she's constantly flip flopping on her morals throughout the series.

>How can moy hangover be real if de syntehol isn't real?

My guess is they are trying to lure the star wars audience while just assuming the Trekies will show up regardless of what they do

He'll be no Malcolm "make the enemy take my seed" Reed.

They put all the effort into the first episode to sell subscriptions to CBS All Adverts, and went too far in a few places, they couldn't use any of the footage from episode 2 and beyond.

Benjamin Maxwell definitely did nothing wrong, The Cardassians prove time after time that they are completely untrustable

Because LE EPIC TWIST is all anyone cares about on tv these days

...so since since somebody out there is obviously picking up on my ideas I am going to post the other idea I had years ago:

Star Trek: Section 31.

Capt. Jellico leads the unit that handles the missions that the Federation either unable or unwilling to handle.

His young field Commander would always bend over backwards to handle the missions in a more humane manner than the orders given by the seemingly overly harsh, no nonsense Capt Jellico.

Thats another freebie Paramount. Take it and run with it.

>multiple seskas
Remove them and the roster is perfect.

Should have used the STO uniforms desu

And maybe set the show just slightly after TNG / DS9 / VOY, you know the most interesting era

Is that meant to Remmick or the chest burster inside him?

>tfw when you realise that syntehol can't make you drunk
>tfw you'll never be expelled from ten forward completely drunk and passing out in a corridor of the enterprise.
>tfw when the futuristic crypto-communist utopia literaly prevent you from having fun

synthehol still lets you get drunk but you can always shake it off.

memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Synthehol
"Most humanoids have an enzyme which breaks down the alcohol-like compounds in synthehol. According to Data, synthehol's "intoxicating effects can be easily dismissed." (TNG: "Relics")"

>> wait can Data get drunk

He's probably got a program for that. He had one for sex. He had one for dating. He had one for painting.

He probably has it on everytime he's in Picard's presence, just to keep his logic centers uncompromised by Picard's garbage.

>If TNG were made now Data would constantly be activating his DUDE WEED LMAO subroutine

>He had one for sex
Did noonien soong realy equiped data with a cyberdong ?

fully functional

FULLY FUNCTIONAL

>This is the new Trek audience

>StarTrek

if Scott Bakula couldn't resurrect this series, then this guy won't either. They should stick with the movies

...

yeah like TOS didn't have a whole episode with Harry Mudd and his fuckbots

Friendly reminder that Dukat did nothing wrong.

>Implying Sup Forums has the same opinions as Sup Forums

Asian speech impediment captain looked fine to me.

I've been a fan for years mans. I literally watch trek 24/7 on a special site. Get on my level.

>Seth Rogan is the "comedian" in the holodeck
>Data spends the rest of the run punctuating his shitty jokes with his obnoxious cough-laugh

And in that time you never watched The Naked Now?

And why would I want to go down to the level of a child that can't afford physical media?

Haven't followed it at all, I thought the entire bridge crew was supposed to be women?

Or is it following a load of different ships, unlike the prior series which were all focused on a single ship (or station) for the most part.

>Eddington did nothing wrong

t. Maquis scum

I'm not the one asking if his dong was fully functional, I was the guy talking about all the programs Data has (which you wouldn't know about unless you were a trek autist).

Go be an idiot while feeling superior somewhere else.

He looks like he's wearing gym clothes.

>a brilliant military tactician.
>it's one ship
>and the entire tactic in ST is "lol disable their shields."

t. Ben 'Crime against humanity? Not if they're Maquis' Sisko

It's set in the real Trek universe while taking every design, cinematography and writing style of JJ.

He may have been "right" but had no real evidence besides circumstantial stuff nor did he have the authority to attack the Cardassians. he was also being clearly motivated by his emotions as his wife and son were killed by Cardassians during the war with them. His actions were still wrong even if Picard figured it out by the end of the episode the Cardassians were clearly setting up a strategic launch point for a future conflict with the Federation. It still doesn't give them the right to attack first and violate the peace treaty. That's why at the end of the episode he tells the Cardassian leader they'll be watching them as they're onto what they're doing now.

This.
It's like shooting a gun once and declaring yourself a warlord.

They're just being coy about saying "he's the Evil Admiral except a Captain"

Two lights? Dumpf thinks there are two lights? It's 2255.

An ancient evil awakens. The most cliché plot imaginable.

No, hes jewish

>he was also being clearly motivated by his emotions as his wife and son were killed by Cardassians during the war with them
No he wasn't, everyone was just projecting that onto him as it was easier than admitting he was right and they were sending an innocent man to jail to cover up for aliens who were murdering their citizens.

>That's why at the end of the episode he tells the Cardassian leader they'll be watching them as they're onto what they're doing now.
Obviously they didn't though, as Sisko had no idea what the Cardassians were doing in The Maquis Part 1/2.

But user, this takes place during The cage.

Aamin Marritza plan was fucked up and could have led to a really weird situation between Bajor and the cardassians, even tho is objective was noble in itself. But it was just a poorly conceived plan

Imagine living your life being this much of a faggot.

The people who wrote this shit neither know nor care

Janeway did so many things wrong I dont even know where to start
