I guess the people complaining are completely unfamiliar with water. They probably could barely stay afloat in bright daylight, yet expect others to take a dive down a couple of meters in complete darkness, get into a car and then bring overweight, drowning and panicking fucks safely back to the surface.
Those people should take a trip to a big indoor pool, try to dive down a moderate 4-5 meters, and see how their body reacts to the change of pressure. Oh, and don't forget to equalize the pressure on the way down, as well as on the way back up (by blowing air through your nose), just so you don't feel like your ears and head are exploding. Also note how your cardiovascular system reacts to the unfamiliar pressure your body is not accustomed to. And that's just from a few meters down ... once.
