the confederates where a bunch of redneck, they wouldnt like having more latinos than whites, anyway, the confederacy never aimed for a lot, they just wanted to divide, so conquering other parts, more mexico that at that point had outlawed slavery, also the south was considerably weaker than the north and less developed because of their lower taxes

also,i said brazil because it was the closer parallel i could thing, both were really undeveloped nations, brazil didnt forbid slavery until 1899, both countries have a considerably population of blacks and high levels of racemixing alongside a strong religious culture
