Should I learn German or French?

Should I learn German or French?

The niggers that are invading Germany all know French so you know which language is the strongest

who else in the world acts like that? French are such fucking cunts.

>Malachi

On one hand your language has a metric ton of French loanwords, on the other it is a Germanic language.
It's up to you really.

The French generally like it a lot when they see someone working to learn the language.

>citation needed

This.

t. lived in France for a couple of years

t. Malachi

Why do you hate the French so much? Did you get tinea pedis in a French shower?

neither, only subhumans don't speak English.

you're not talking to subhumans, are you user?

If you have to ask strangers, neither, because you're not enough motivated to keep the commitment and find a suitable use to the language

This, the picture in OP mostly refers to busy Parisians being already late to work, and getting annoyed by tourists who think we're their personal GPS desu

I'd say French is more useful, but German looks and sounds cooler

You don't give directions? Man you suck. I would send every single person to the moulin rouge.

It's hard to argue that either will be particularly more relevant than they are at the moment. Despite the memes, the EU is unlikely to change the main language from English to French or German after Brexit.

I do also realise that you are likely not learning a language in order to use it in a business environment. In other words, you might as well flip a coin on it, you'll be giving up within 2 weeks. And no, 1 hour a day on duolingo does not constitute proper language learning.

(French is nicer than German, though).

French is actually spoken outside of France tho, which alone makes French more useful.

We have a somewhat more phonetic writing system than them (still far from perfect), but the similarity of frogspeak to your language far outweighs that I'd say

Learn chinese, it’s more useful

Aside from Québec, only in the poorest parts of sub-Saharan Africa though. Maybe it'll become important in 50 years, maybe not

Learn French buddy. All Krauts can speak fluent English anyway and German itself is not pleasant language.

And German is too

>All Krauts can speak fluent English

Not true, actually. Granted there are more krauts that can speak English than French that can, but it's not as high as scandi countries.

>Germans are good at English
Nice meme, I pass by the Frankfurt airport twice a year and a lot of people there can barely speak English

Neither.
But if you have to choose one, then choose German. France will render itself irrelevant in the next decade.

>German itself is not pleasant language
It's more pleasant than yours, Kaneda.

French is spoken in Belgium and Switzerland too. It's also still somewhat spoken by ex high class vietnamese people to a minor extent. It's still spoken in the Mahgreb countries too.

Who is correct? :3

>if you go this way... you'll find somebody who will give you the actual direction because I have no clue

Seriously, I come from the suburbs and I can't even give directions in Paris because I use the subway to go anywhere and I'm not familiar with the streets themselves (if they're not in the vicinity of the subway stations I use)

I'm a Brit that lives in Germany but also lived in France prior to moving here. Trust me, less Germans speak English at a decent level than you'd think.

Learn French just to piss off the Germans. You as an Amerifag have the duty to undermine every attempt by Germoney to become/remain the new hegemon of Europe. They sell their goods all over the Continent and cucked the French, Italians and Spanish are poor, UK is brexiting. The last step left to make is imposing their language and culture. We already had a fair amount of German philosophers and composers, so I'd say it's enough.
LEARN FRENCH.

This, Germans are in the "better than France, but still worthless" category

Really? I'd assume everyone under 40 is pretty fluent

I have planned to get into mandarin many many times but unless you get immersed in the country there is no point and no way to make steady progress and not forget everything very quickly.

German or Dutch lads?

Whichever culture you think is more interesting.
That's the incentive to learning a language, not ``money'' or something braindead like that.
If you have no interest in a culture, you'll burn out trying to learn it

German. Dutch is similar but harder.

I'd say that a good 1/3 of the people I know under 40 would genuinely struggle to hold a conversation with me in English. The rest are mostly competent, some being fluent. Before moving here I thought it'd be a similar situation to Norway but because Germans dub everything instead of subtitling I guess they don't receive the same barrage of English that the Norwegians do.

Dutch is completely useless. Many dutch people speak German anyways and the ones that don't speak English.

Really?
I guess it depends on the people you know.
Every German I met was definitely able to hold a conversation in English.

Who knows, perhaps they just don't want to talk with me in English :^).

But sure, in a professional office environment I would say that pretty much everyone has at least an intermediate level of English however I was talking more about the people I know socially through my lass etc. Just to say, I'm not complaining about the English level. it's just an observation I've made due to the fact that I've lived in a few different countries. Also, I do learn German and use it more than English when out and about before someone pulls the arrogant *nglo card

No worries. Wasn't about to pull the arrogant Anglo-Card. Just had many different experiences with Germans and was wondering where your experiences were coming from.

I'd like to say that the more normie the German is the less English he can speak.. Sadly though, I don't think it's quite that simple as a lot of normies are infatuated with America or London

Dutch is so inferior it's not even a question.

>ugly
>no literature or unique resources
>spoken by fewer people
>fewer economic opportunities
>all the speakers speak fluent English anyway

inb4 mad Dutchies saying they have literature like Nescio

Nescio wouldn't even be among our top 200 writers if he wrote in French, maybe not even in the top 500

imagine being french

>be French
>be a refined intellectual gentleman and BLACK at the same time

Best of both worlds embodied in a superior shell of Frenchness

Nigga just use google maps and screenshot that shit wtf are you retarded hahahahahahahah

bullshit you lying leaf

I went to a French immersion school and speak fluently. After graduating and going to uni, 4 years later it was a bit rusty. Took a trip to quebec and went to some restuarant. I greeted the host in French and he said "Don't worry, I'll get you an English server". And they sent some dumb cunt that could barely speak English. It was so bad that while I was ordering I switched to French so she would understand. The rest of the meal I spoke French with the waitress.

That moment has ruined Quebec for me forever. Not that it was the only one, but it just chapped my ass more than anything I've ever experienced before.

Lerne Deutsch.

It's technically a more difficult language to learn but the French are an intolerable breed and you'll find you've wasted years of your life learning how to communicate with assholes.

>wtf why won't people pay me the time of day???
stop acting entitled

>Québec
>French

Never post again m8

Wrong

>France
>French

m8

>anything
>French

C'mon
