I know Sup Forums isn't very technologically smart, but you do realize that as soon as you see it in your browse that it's been downloaded to a temporary file and is in your memory.

Not that it matters since they can't run embedded files without you executing a malicious executable to start with.

Windows has had past instances of security vulnerabilities due to a portion of the operating system (GDI) which handles display drawing in kernelspace; malformed images were an actual attack vector.

Most of them are older, but this is a more recent bulletin.

This isn't true at all, plenty of exploits work by compromising locally running badly written software with otherwise non-execuatable files.
